I know this reply is late, and you probably know the answer by now, but I'm gonna assume floating. Whenever I've seen the bridge mounted on a piece of wood like that, the whole assembly sits freely on the top. I could be wrong but thats my experience

Gretsch describe it as a "tune-o-matic bridge with a secured laurel base" so it is fixed.
