Okay, I give you an example of how powerful an actor Sir Anthony Hopkins is. I thought this was Sir Anthony at an actual AA meeting! I had no idea he was an actor delivering lines in a movie! I'm a member of a 12-step fellowship and I have heard thousands of "shares" - although this was a scene from a movie, it none-the-less is powerful and will resonate with anyone in recovery. Not just in the words spoken but the way it was spoken. Whoever wrote it understands the fundamental necessity of absolute, complete moral honesty required to recover in any 12-step fellowship. Mr. Hopkins understands too. Every "good" share should embarrass the person sharing to some degree. If it doesn't, you're not being totally honest. Every day I try to practice the principles in all my affairs.

It’s not acting! How right you are! It’s not acting-It’s being.
Great man, lovely soul, selfless spirit. I salute you Sir H
This is the day the Lord has made we will rejoice and be glad in it!
That’s all we have 1 day! We don’t know what’s coming tomorrow. If you want God to show up in your life all you have to do is ask Him to! He will! Try it!! 🙏🏻♥️
I adore
I love
Anthony Hopkins
No one like him
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Now, that is acting. I watched the whole thing thinking it was Hopkins talking about himself.
I've watched Remains of the Day perhaps twenty times over the years and his performance (and the other actors) never fails to move.
Thank you for sharing, Sir Anthony Hopkins. Yes,this is is an old clip, but you never know who, when, how or why someone is gonna touch your heart when you are in need of just a bit of hope. This dis-ease is progressive whether in or out. And this thing called life? It's a bus stop. Life happens while I wait for the bus. But it sure is easier with the wisdom of the Elder Statesmen. My name is Raqui. And I'm an alcoholic. My recovery date is May 2, 2000. Thank you.💜
If that is your prayer of surrender, it's the most powerful prayer you can say.
Brings me to tears, goes straight to my heart, thank you for struggling back to life and sharing what it means to be human, thans to all AA s and recovering people to be there❤
this guy has made me weep in 3 films now....powerful actor
His real AA talks are worth listening to.
“Hearts in Atlantis” is one of his greatest films!
Whatever role, Anthony plays, he is just great, touching the heart and opening the eyes, the mind..... What an actor. Thanks to Anthony! Love. Tom.
This is so deeply autobiographical, you'd almost think Hopkins wrote it himself.
The detail of "fuck it" as the shortest prayer is something a monk told Hopkins, so yes.
he undoubtedly did.
He has always been my favourite actor. Think he is a master of his craft. When you forget it's acting and really believe the story it's job done.
I wasn't sure at first if he was acting or just talking. No one I can think of is this natural an actor
Undoubtedly the greatest post I've ever come across. Thank you for posting it.
Colonel Ludlow. Legends of the Fall. Legends are lesson..they ring with truth..those eyes and elephant candles on piano. Good Welshman this..🙌🙏🔥💥
Thank you for this I don't know where I go now. Thanks be to God, Amen
Seek help.AA can, clergy, pastor any number of health professionals is better than alone and toilets. My tools didn't work for this problem. Like mechanical tools on a aircraft.
God Bless you Sir Anthony Hopkins! To my beloved friend Tianna 🙏🫂 Every day including now I've been praying 🙏 tirelessly for your recovery 🙏🤧. Not a day goes by where I haven't thought about you 🫂 and my concern for your safety! I miss you and keep praying you'll see your children grow up and walk across that stage, exchange 💱 their marriage vows etc..I pray always that we'll get to talk again where you're safe and fully recovered. May the Man above continue 🙏😇 to hear my prayers 🙏 good vibes, and petitions on her behalf. Thank you Anthony Hopkins for giving me hope for the people I love most.
I pray for your friend, Tianna, also. May she find the peace beyond all understanding.
@@carmelitabeaverhausen739 Many thanks 🙏👍
I'm a member of a 12-step fellowship and I have heard thousands of "shares" - although this was a scene from a movie, it none-the-less is powerful and will resonate with anyone in recovery. Not just in the words spoken but the way it was spoken. Whoever wrote it understands the fundamental necessity of absolute, complete moral honesty required to recover in any 12-step fellowship. Mr. Hopkins understands too. Every "good" share should embarrass the person sharing to some degree. If it doesn't, you're not being totally honest. Every day I try to practice the principles in all my affairs.
Anthony Hopkins = The Master
What is this film called? Very powerful acting. I love Anthony, one of the greatest if not "the" greatest of all time.
I felt each line as he was saying it. That's great acting.
Aaah, your humor, honesty, humility ( acknowledging personal difficulties)..thank you.... ❤
He did this so well. Tricky to do, but he did it and did it wonderfully.
My god, he is flawless. And also in The Father…..I can’t pick a fault with him ❤️
Only Jesus Christ was flawless
Do not use God's name in vain. And when you write God, capitalize it. He is our Mighty God . That saves us daily and any second😇☦️🙏🏻
Sir, what you said hit home. My daughter hasn’t talked to me in about three + years, and I always feel I’m the only one who is going through this kind of pain, but I know I’m not. Thank you!
