So, I'm curious to see how many people actually know this, but almost (if not every) enemy other than the Garadors is unable to hear your footsteps, you can run whenever you want, as much as you want, and they won't ever notice because of it. Gunshots and explosions are a different story, but you really can just _run_ up behind enemies and stealth kill them with the knife. Probably a useful tip for anyone trying for S+, it certainly helped me.
@@tungyingloh6300 I uh...I was more referencing the idea of the _running_ , not the stabbing neighbour. If memory serves, he did use the stealth kill multiple times, and my point was just that people don't actually need to worry about stealth, or rather crouching, because the vast majority of enemies aren't actually programmed to be able to hear your movement, even when running.

Yes, it's true that you can run up to one if his back is turned and stealth kill him, but he _does_ hear you; he just doesn't react in time. But were you to falter in your run for some reason, he would have the extra second he needs to turn to see whom he heard sprinting up to him. Or if there are 2 close together, you'd kill the one you were aiming for, but the other would turn to investigate the sound. For all intents and purposes, it amounts to the same for the point you were making, but I thought it worth setting the record straight.

Breakable knives in RE4 make sense since the combat knife and Krauser knife can both be upgraded to the point where they don't break often, and the game tends to throw loads of disposable knives at you. I had 4 pristine boot knives in my inventory by the end of the game 😂
Yep, in combining this run with no healing and handgun/knife only (albeit on assisted…) I had forgotten the Primal Knife had to be fully upgraded to be indestructible (which I could’ve done on my previous Professional S+ run) but as I couldn’t talk to the Merchant? Didn’t matter though, as it gave me them whenever I was down to a single one or one severely damaged; much like how Dante got tons of green herbs.
Also of course it makes sense, you can literally parry attacks and escape grapples with it, Resident Evil is known for resource management and split second decisions, the knife is limited for those reasons and is actually super well thought out in that regard.

Even if you don’t do it on New Game plus it’s rather easy if you do it on standard or Assisted. You can find a rifle, smg, a Red9, and a magnum. Plus you get the shotgun in the first chapter. It’s not all that hard on the lower difficulties. My biggest problem was inventory space actually
The commentary is just hilarious! I just completed a NG+ Hardcore w/ infinite rockets and I used probably 20-30 healing items. You made the run through look like a breeze.

Dante, so happy your back you mad lad, there is one tip i have for you, if you want there is a unlockable infinite knife if you destroy all the Clockwork tiny Salazar trophies through out the story but depending on the ones you already destroyed first playthough they will no longer be in any other play throughs just the remaining ones you have to destroy. The knife will have to be upgraded fully to its infinite durability exclusive upgrade

Regarding the breakable knife, it’s probably to balance the new stealth kills and shit, as well as parrying and blocking mechanics. You shouldn’t be able to hold off Salvador infinitely

For Krauser's final form after you knock him down with a melee attack, whenever he tries to get up you can rush in and start stabbing his knees and you can get another melee attack. You can loop him the entire fight if you do it right. For some reason, stabbing his face doesn't stagger him like you would expect.

Here’s a challenge. Can you beat re4 (2005) with ONLY the punisher. The way the challenge would work is that you start off with the punisher using new game+ and nothing else (you would hopefully even have the base inventory), you couldn’t even use the knife (at all), you also wouldn’t be able to use any throwable items of any kind.
As someone who is trying knife only without primal knife, there’s a few main issues. El gigante takes a lot of resources but is possible. Same with the big cheese. However, after the water room with the Ashley protection section, you need to shoot them to protect her. There may be a glitch to get up there yourself and defend her, but I don’t know a glitch like that. The elevator section is damn near impossible. Several crossbow enemies who spam shots at you constantly. Every enemy will be plagas because you can’t kill the red guy. And they all refuse to stagger even with constant stabs to the knees. Immediately after, the Salazar fight is extremely difficult with knife only. I won’t say it is impossible, but usually he stays out of range, and when he gets close he tends to go for the 1 hit kill bite attack. It would probably take more than an hour of constant stabbing to kill him. Plus, with his health bar you would need a lot of spare knives. Otherwise, the rest of the run is… manageable. Saddler is possible, krauser is as intended. The regeneradors are as normal but you will take a lot of grabs if you don’t get behind them. That elevator section broke me tho

Love your stuff as always, but yeah the fact it's an achievement gives it away XD. You should try a knife/pistol run combined with the no healing run on hardcore+, that run made me sweat and rage. (Hell even on standard or assisted it's hard AF)
This actually unlocks a secret post credits boss fight where the Merchant climbs onto your jet ski and tries to kill you for ignoring him the whole game.
I did knives only but failed, i did grenades and flashbangs but failed, did all handguns and successfully did it, shotguns failed, SMG’s successfully worked, rifles successfully worked but assault rifle didn’t, magnums failed, bolt thrower worked and then rocket launchers failed.

I like the breakable knife. A sort of, and I mean heavily sort of, is a small, minuscule nerf for the knife system in the game. But also reminds of the Resident Evil HD remake, where you could get knives as self defense tools when zombies grabbed you, but they immediately went away upon use (if I remember correctly, you could only grab one if you shoot their heads off)
