Man this *hits* right in the feels. My older sister and I used to play this game all the time when we were younger and didn't have school. She'd play as Tails and I as Sonic, we made a great duo. I _thoroughly_ enjoyed my childhood thanks to games like this.

This is my favorite Sonic game on Megadrive. I've finished it dozens of times and I'll play it again, everything is good in this game, the music, the atmosphere, the graphics, the fun.
I love how Sonic impatiently looks at the 4th wall and stomps his foot when you dont move him for a long period. Almost as funny as Mario falling asleep on Nintendo 64. Lol
I've always loved the 'Chemical Plant', 'Casino Night', and 'Metropolis' zones. Chemical Plant and Metropolis felt like I was 100 years into the future, and Casino Night looked like a great time to be alive, even though I wasn't born when this game was made. In addition, I loved the theme to the 'Oil Ocean' zone.
+20 years later and I'm now realizing after never enjoying the sweet satisfaction of finishing this game, I was actually on the last level literally a couple minutes away from completion and didn't have a clue! It would have been nice to have known about super sonic! Still as my first video game and system, this will be a top 3 for life!
We rarely knew anyone that beat it to talk about it. But a few years after a classmate once gave me cheat codes I never even thought the game had. It just blew my mind and I remember I couldn’t wait to get home to try it and after several attempts it actually worked! 😆

I damn near knew them all without a guide. And tell how I didn't know how to turn into gold Sonic until now. I never knew that, nor did I remember reading it in the booklet. I beat that game several times.
You know, I didn't know if we'd make it this far in the past, but now we have a movie and a whole franchise, and the franchise has never died in the almost 30 years it has been out. That's Gundam levels of impressive.

When he caught him falling to the earth, i teared up out of joy. This game gripped me as a kid. The music, the flashy colors and graphics, such good memories. :)
That 3rd special stage was giving poor little Miles absolute hell😂 He was getting tore up! I'm surprised you all got the required number of rings. But I do miss watching my brothers play this game as a kid. So many happy, fun memories of childhood. It's the innocence that I miss.

Back when I was 7 years old, I am 22 now. I still remember going to this daycare almost everyday of the summer. They had a Sega genesis just lying on the ground that nobody would play. So I hopped on that Sega Genesis, and I literally had so much fun with it, I would always get excited to play that Sega genesis every time I went there to play Sonic the Hedgehog 2. I was the only kid in that daycare that played that game. That was the first time I ever played a Sega genesis, man..So many good memories :)

Only way to play is on og hardware. Emulators and classic collections have input lag and bugs. Game was made with the og controls in mind.

So I hopped on that Sega Genesis, and I literally had so much fun with it, I would always get excited to play that Sega genesis every time I went there to play Sonic the Hedgehog 2. I was the only kid in that daycare that played that game. That was the first time I ever played a Sega genesis, man..So many good memories :)
