Wow! So gorgeous and I literally live 1.5 miles on the same exact street, away from this house! Was very odd, almost knew immediately with the first shot even with it giving very little away to the surroundings, my inner alarm just went haywire and sure enough, Redondo Beach! Also this house is literally a block away from one of the best beaches in the world and like 3 blocks down from the esplanade or The Riviera where there is world class shops, restaurants and the like laid out in very pedestrian friendly environment that is so lacking in most modern American cities. South Redondo Beach truly is a hidden gem but there are not street performers, roller coasters, or steroid-heads bulking up in front of you so probably shouldn't worry about visiting it, is seriously at least 30 minutes to closest freeway with light traffic . Which means you have to usually intentionally decide to come here as opposed to just stumbling upon it grom some random off-ramp exit.
oh soo cool but I wish there was more japanese feeling like sliding doors and using bamboo you know spirit of japan oh I wish for a mansion just like that in saudi arabia wish you luck and thanks .
The home was not meant to pay homage to Japan or anything, rather take small elements and incorporate them into a California home. The owner did not want it to feel like Japan...but rather a nice mix of modern architecture & light touches of Asian interior design. The tatami room most reflects Japan in this home...while everything else is more ubiquitous.
