The song "Prosthetics" was based on the 1965 film The Collector, directed by William Wyler. It is a drama/horror/thriller film and goes with the tagline: "A man kidnaps a woman and holds her hostage just for the pleasure of having her there." Summary of Film: Brasseaux, a socially withdrawn bank clerk, and butterfly collector, decides to expand to collecting human specimens. That's where art student Miranda Grey comes in. Miranda matches wits with the psychopath, at which point he kills her, loads her body into his vehicle, and disposes of it by blowing it up.
Did we see the same movie? I thought she developed pneumonia and he (Freddie Clegg) just buried her in his yard when she died (?) Anyway the novel is better than the film 😊

Slipknot album 1999 is one of the creepiest albums that have ever existed. This song gives me some Scissors vibes. Absolutely it's one of my favorites Slipknot songs. Good to see you again, guys! As Corey said: " Keep in mind, I watch you!" 😉 Happy weekend to everyone! 👋🏻
Finally!!! This is a super underrated Slipknot song, I much prefer this song to "Tattered And Torn". I think there are still a couple of songs from the Self Titled album you guys haven't done yet, I highly recommend "Diluted" if you haven't done it already. Corey's vocals are very catchy in the chorus, great reaction guys!! 🤘🤘🤙🤙
Love this song, and it's one of their closest songs to MFKR after MFKR. And trust me, MFKR definitely isn't bad at all! It just has different vibe to it, more like this kind of song. A lot of people ignore it because it's slower, less alternative and with different vocalist, but it's nowhere near bad. I guess if you are really into alternative-mainstream sound then MFKR is much less accessible, but if it doesn't really matter that much to you, than you'll get into it easily.

This is one of my absolute favourites from Slipknot. I was super super lucky to see them about 12 years ago (Australia) and they performed this and it was insane in the best way!
Prosthetic heart is called a Jarvik-7. The new technology is called a Syncardia TAH which is just a new, upgraded version of the Jarvik-7 which is pretty much a water pump but for the heart.
The lyrics you see are entirely based upon a horror movie named "The Collector", which is about stalking and kidnapping people to torture and death, this might be the most accurate reason that explains why this song is so creepy.
Bro, YES. You two are the best at old slipknot reactions. Best at alot of reactions but old school slipknot saved alot of people back in the day so it holds a special place for me.
When you mentioned Joey he hadn't even started playing yet, that was one of only a few times you actually hear the custom percussion being played. One percussionist was playing the keg while the other was playing that almost tribal beat on the big toms.
I appreciate y'all more than you know. For a LONG time, like, literally since Fear Innoculum came out, I've been stuck listening to just Tool and occasionally Eminem unless I hang out with my neighbor and you help me listen to a lot of music I've not listened to in a long time.
youre dead on with the organized chaos comment, i've always thought the jumpsuit album and Iowa were exactly that. I remember using the phrase "distilled chaos" to describe this sound to my son when i was playing him some tracks of both albums in the car one day, and that was maybe 20 years ago lol
Nobody calls it "red jumpsuit album" because back in the day they were red jumpsuits mostly during the Iowa era. During the first album (self titled) they wore mostly White jumpsuits.
Hollywood 6ix is going to lose his mind when he hears "Not Long For This World"!! After watching which sound he likes, I can almost guarantee he'll give the "This is my new favorite Slipknot song." 😆
Mate Feed KilI Repeat is a Demo album. So a lot of the songs are versions of songs that exist now such as Slipknot which eventually turned into (sic) on Self-Titled and Gently which became Gently on the Iowa album. If you guys were to dive into MFKR, I'd say check out Do Nothing/Bitchslap. That song is nothing like any other song they've made and it honestly makes you question if you're even listening to Slipknot at times.
Fun fact: "Purity" is a track that was written for Slipknot's self-titled album. It appeared as track 9 on the album. The track was removed from the album and replaced with "Me Inside" due to lawsuit. The prelude to "Purity", entitled "Frail Limb Nursery", has remained unreleased ever since being removed from the album.
Awesome im new to this channel slipknot Saturday is awesome, Nomadic has some cool rifts but no matter what song yous react to they are all so so good, slipknot forever
Yes Ive been asking for this song for so long I love this song so much it's so creepy and I remember the first time listening to this thinking wtf this is amazing
You guys really gotta do something from the MFKR album, it's very different from anything that came after it and it's with a different vocalist. I've been trying to get you guys to check out "Do Nothing/Bitchslap" from the MFKR album for a looooong time lol (I've also had it requested on Patreon for a looooong time lol), that song will throw you guys for a loop big time lmao. I'm telling you, please guys. 🙏🙏
Yo this was my very first slipknot song ever and its still one of my favorites ever. Thank you both for making my day. I been waiting for slipknot Saturday all week 🤟🤟🤟
Could the prosthetic be like his shadow side? Love your shirt Hollywood! Speaking of, those screeching sounds at the beginning of this remind me of a certain Floyd song I requested y’all react to recently. I don’t know how Slipknot is able to have such a distinct sound yet they’re not redundant in their music. I mean other than just being masters of their craft.
Yeahhhhh its Slipknot saturday ! The very best day of the whole week cause this is one of the best bands in the World ! This song is realy great and Corey Taylor is soooooooo great ! I think he is born to make music like this ! I love you bro's ! Greatings and love from germany ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
It wasn't an album, but a random collection of songs from that era. There was meant to be an album after M.F.K.R. with a more polished sound but it was never leaked in a compiled album state and never given a name (that we know of).
At first I was thinking I don't remember that song, then 2 seconds in I was like ahhhhh that song. The first 2 albums in my opinion are their best work. Don't get me wrong all their work is great but not as good as the first 2. They are also one of the best bands to see live.
I love this song! Btw, if you venture into MFKR, you should definitely check out Corey's first show with slipknot! It's so cool to see how far they've come and how much has changed!
I'll say m.f.k.r slipknot isn't what we are used to. As far as modern slipknot goes, but I think it's actually pretty good. Definitely for its time m.f.k.r slipknot was something completely new and gave way to one for the greatest new metal bands of all time.
A few words about Nightwish (Floor Jansen), Dimash and some other cool vocalists. Alan Dean Foster, the famous American fantasy and science fiction writer who applied his writing talent to such hits as Star Wars and Star Trek, maintains a music section on his blog. "There are many good singers, fewer great singers, and a very small number who are unique singers. Diana is a natural dramatic contralto. This is the lowest range for a female singer. She is also polyphonic. Roughly, this means that when she sings she often sounds like more than one person singing at once. As you can imagine, the combination is extraordinary. So too is her full range. Singers at age 14 can do things that astonish us. Witness the careers of Jordan and the Dutch prodigy Amira Willighagen. But even when included in this company there is something special about Diana. I love the performances of the two singers I just mentioned, but they are (perfectly) controlled and measured. Diana is more akin to a force of nature. One of the most common descriptions of her performances is “shamanistic.” Some of this has to do with the remarkable timbre of her voice, some with the sheer intensity of her performing. In this she is closer to Floor Jansen. With both women you can see as well as hear the intensity, the emotion, contained with both the lyrics and the music. A duet between the two would be something magical." I would also like to draw your attention to this young vocalist Diana Ankudinova.
Alan Foster writes further:: "Her first two-minute performance on the show (all the initial performances are brief) is of a very dark version of Elvis Presley’s “Can’tHelp Falling in Love.” I’m not sure what you anticipate hearing, but I guarantee it won’t be anything like what you expect. The show’s production values are also outstanding. Two things I noticed immediately when comparing this performance to Diana’s previous ones: first, her control shows the results of ayear’s worth of professional voice training, and second, as she matures her power is becoming fully unleashed. When someone says she blows you away, it carries a literal meaning. " Alan's full article on Diana is posted in my Community section. Please tell me a band that even a little sounds like this song. "Red Jumpsuit Album" is my favorite album from any band of all time.
