This song hits so fucking hard, probably one of the most aggressive songs on this album and if it doesn’t pump you up, there’s something wrong with you
Apparently Real eyes realize real lies has been used by several people. I see it attributed to Tupac but it was also used by Pink Floyd back in the 60s...

They technically have 6 studio albums and releasing their 7th (and final album with Roadrunner Records) in March/April. The other albums were dvd’s of shows like the Disasterpiece DVD is Live 2002.
Yeeesssssss! You finally made it. This song live is lit af. I knew Hollywood would dig it and Smokey would introspec the lyrics. This was Jay and V-Man’s first record with the boys. You’ve already covered songs from .5:The Gray Chapter and didn’t know it. Also they only have 7 studio albums if you count “Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat”.The rest are compilations or live shows.
This song live was absolutely insane it’s all I could fuckin see listening to it everytime since, in person it’s just so fucking unreal and badass🤘 glad y’all are maggots too🖤🤘🤘
I remember before I even listened to the entirety of .5 when I heard people heaping endless praise on this one and it did not disappoint when I finally heard it. It's just such a slipknot song. And it was easily one of Chris's best songs when he was still in the band. His backing vocals on this live were God tier. And I think the one you thought was about Paul was "skeptic". It's very obvious that it's about him and when you listen to it, it really hits you. Considering Hollywood especially seems to love everything you've listened to off of this album, that'd be a good one.
At Tattoo the Earth in Des Moines in the early 2000s, they walked right through the crowd before they went on. They moved quickly but they were in new jumpsuits we hadn't seen yet so most people thought they were part of the crowd. Slayer opened for them at that show and that's when I knew they had really made it. I understand the home field advantage but when Slayer opens for you, that's gotta be pretty special. Slayer still should have headlined ;)
love your videos my dudes, im always hyped for slipknot saturday every week! if yall want more from album 5, check out "sarcastrophe", "skeptic" or "the one who kills the least"
Nu Metal its exactly this!A natural evolution of the music!Like it was the trash metal, that it was the mix of the called old school metal with punk hardcore.Like it was the grunge, that came from punk rock, metal and indie music. Its just the new step!!
I would also say nu metal is a blend of thrash and a bit of hip-hop which is where bands like Korn, limp bizkit(even tho Fred durst is a super bitch), slipknot etc came into the scene all with this wonder new type of metal that flows and be cuz of that, makes it go faster and hit harder.
This song is pure chaos! To this point, they currently have 6 studio albums. This is #5 out of 6, came out in 2014 and was a dedication to the late Paul Gray. Killer album!
For some reason the grey chapter gets put at the bottom of a lot of people's lists, but I think it's much better than We are Not Your Kind. I think you guys would really dig Nomadic or Lech from .5
One of my favorite songs from The Gray Chapter! I can very much see where Smoke is coming from with them being a mesh of thrash and nu metal cause in a lot of songs they definitely are, with a little industrial thrown in as well. In their very early days, their are accounts of Slipknot actually coming through the crowd and climbing up to the stage and accounts of them actually going down and joining in the pits!
Getting me hype so early in the morning!! Love the reaction to this one! You guys are so awesome. "The Negative One" off this album is one of my favs. Still waiting on "The Heretic Anthem" ❤️ 🤘
You guys should do more Korn song I'm not even sure if I remember you guys doing one I'm sure you guys have. You guys can do a Korn day like on Wednesday "hump day" you guys would get the reference if you've heard the edited version of their song Adidas But with Korn I would start from the first album and work your way up just to see how they have progressed musically and vocally
There are only 6 official Studio Albums by Slipknot so far: Slipknot (1999) Iowa (2001) Volume 3: The Subliminal Verses (2004) All Hope Is Gone (2009) .5: The Gray Chapter (2014) We Are Not Your Kind (2019). Hopefully we get their 7th this year!!!
Slipknot has the most Thrash influence, out of all Nu metal bands. I would add next, System of a Down as well! In my opinion the best Nu Metal bands out there.
I'm sure I'm not the first to mention it, but Sid used to be notorious for finding high shit to jump from and land drop kicks into the middle of pits.. The "Disasterpieces" dvd has some clips
Its incredible;the .last decade of the twenty century brought us such great music!!! And I lived that time!!! Nirvana,Alice infelizmente Chains,Soundgarden,aFaith no More,Red Hot Chili Peppers
Rage Against the Machine Cypress Hill Machine Head, Deftones,System of a Dowm,Slipknot ,Korn,Beastie BoysFear Factory, etc, etc!!! I feel Im one of the lucky ones!!!;Not all tje genaratipns has the luck!!!!!!!
Slipknot use to hop in the crowd and mosh. They use to do some crazy stuff. Mostly Clown and Sid doing the really crazy shit like moshing and jumping off speaker stacks and running around in the audience.
this actually wasnt included on the grey chapter, it was released as a "hey we still put out music!" around whne that album came out.. the grey chapter came out in 2014, 4 years after paul grey passed away and this is the first album with jay and v man
Here’s a very simple generalised view of Slipknot discography. I’m a huge fan and people may not agree but like I said this is generalised and basic info you guys need to hear so you stop going back and forth on things. First album: Slipknot(red jumpsuits) It was very raw and full of angst, very much metal, with rapping lyrics and turntables/synths. Joey is drummer, Paul is bassist. (Rip to both). This album made them blow up. Noticeable songs: Spit it out, Surfacing, wait and bleed. Second album: Iowa. Similar masks, slight variations. Their best album imo. It’s one of the heaviest albums ever imo. Brutal vocals. People still talk about Corey’s vocals to this day. Joey and Paul are still here. Noticeable songs: The heretic anthem, people =sh!t, Disasterpiece. Album 3: Volume 3: subliminal verses. This was a huge change in style. Masks got major upgrades. The best masks imo. The band went noticeably less heavy and since then haven’t really returned to Iowa sound. A lot more melody and melodic vocals. Riffs are still heavy but there’s a clear change. This is the album that sent them into the stratosphere. I love this album. Paul and Joey still here. Noticeable songs: before I forget, duality, pulse of the maggots. Album 4: All hope is gone. This would be the last album that had Joey and Paul. Paul passed away and Joey was kicked out sadly. This is huge because both Joey and all were major song writers for the band, especially volume 3. The sound is similar too volume 3. Very melodic and somewhat straightforward songs. Great album none the less. Major mask upgrades too. Noticeable songs: psychosocial, all hope is gone and sulfer. Album 5: the grey chapter. Album is hugely influenced by the loss of Paul. Hence the name, and some songs are specifically written about him. Much darker lyrics as a result. Heavier than previous two albums but still a way off Iowa. This album kind of gets forgotten about somewhat, but there are some great songs on it. Major mask upgrades, my least favourite of all however. This album features both Jay and v-man for the first time. Noticeable songs: AOV, skeptic(about Paul) and the negative one. Sixth album: we are not your kind. New masks, once again it’s a little heavier. Some of their heaviest songs since Iowa but not close at the same time. Corey had a lot of personal issues and they flow out more so than ever here. The band kind of finds itself again after the a troublesome period. Mainly white jumpsuits, Corey’s mask is terrible until he upgraded it recently. Jay is a beast on this album, comes into his own. Noticeable songs: solway firth(very heavy), Nero forte, and orphan. This brings us up to speed. New album expected. The recent single felt very like their first album to me. Which is a good thing. Who knows what the album will be like but I for one can’t wait. I hope you read this and take something away from it. Keep up the reactions, they help me get through work! Love you guys, Peace. ✌️
Like i've said in the The Virus Of Life video, react to Scissors (Lyric Video) everyone in the band is going nuts in this song. Angriest and most manic Corey you will ever hear (imo). Btw Scissors is Corey's favorite song to sing.
That's one of their best works, but you may want to listen to Orphan, it's from their latest album, We Are Not Your Kind, and it somehow has the Iowa era kind of rage
Badass song right here. I absolutely recommend the song Gematria (The Killing Name) with the intro .execute. Under rated song and one of Joey's best works as well as the whole band
Love this song! Digging your reactions. But if you want to dive into the essence of thrash metal, you gotta get a little further out of your comfort zone. There are a lot of other great bands in the genre that get overlooked because they're not as popular or successful as the Metallicas, Megadeths, Panteras, and Slipknots in the industry. Here's my personal recommendations if you do another week of thrash: Sepultura "Arise", Exodus "Impact is Imminent", Overkill "Bring Me the Night", Testament "Low", and S.O.D. (Stormtroopers of Death) "Sargent D and the March of the S.O.D." (live version is mindblowing).
@Big Homie Steve The Metal Head I'm with you! Man, I feel like I've been fighting this battle alone for too long! I love all kinds of rock, metal, even other genres. There's just so much great music and so many other artists out there. It just gets old seeing the same bands and the same songs all the time, right? Let's do this!!
Thanks for your reaction, it feels good that the music transmits explosive energy. I'm a metalhead and I download all my evil here and thanks to that I am love and peace for everyone. up the metal lml
The guitarist Mick Thompson played with legendary old school death metal band Malevolent Creation for awhile before or during Slipknot so there is definitely a thrash/death metal mix with their music.
General Custer was part of the civil war and was defeated by the Lakota empire along the Arapaho and Cheyenne tribes and him and his soldiers were all mutilated and chopped up when their bodies were found, the battle is famous and is called THE BATTLE OF LITTLE BIGHORN
I think the thing I remember Scotty Riggs for the most (besides American Males, American Males, American Males...) was he was the first guy RVD hit the Van Terminator on in ECW.
I believe they only have 6 studio albums, none eps, live or singles. The next studio album is the last one with Road Runner Records, unless they extend the deal or get a new one. I hope they'll self publish.
yall should check out vildhjarta. its like meshuggah x100. or humanitys last breath which has the same drummer and producer as vildhjarta, but its more deathcore than vildhjarta is, vildhjarta is more prog
Custer and his troops were wiped out by warriors led by Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse at Little Bighorn in Montana...Custer made several stupid mistakes that led to the slaughter
I'm sure somebody has mentioned this already, but the Alamo wasn't Custer's last stand. The Alamo was the last stand of Texan forces against the Mexican army. Custer was the man who led American troops against Native American tribes in the late 1800s
Override is a good one with more of a pop metal sound to it, and I believe you guys have already done Sulfur and AOV from this album. Skeptic is a good one, that's about Paul Grey. Just do the whole album....
This song hits so fucking hard, probably one of the most aggressive songs on this album and if it doesn’t pump you up, there’s something wrong with you
Still be that one hater that says "it's not heavy enough" haha
The Negative One definitely takes the cake for most aggressive on the album
SOMEONE SAID IT
The amount of adrenaline that shoots up inside of me right when that chorus hits, makes me want to kill the first person i see... In a good way 😅
@@sammitchell3657 nah more, like why are they yellingaaaaaa?💅😂😂😂
This song in concert is so 🔥. The crowd is just as loud as the band. It gives me goose bumps every time I watch it.
If you want goosebumps watch slayer war ensemble live in Tokyo
That line "You form a line to formalize the former lies" always reminded me of Machine Heads "Real eyes realize real lies".
Apparently Real eyes realize real lies has been used by several people. I see it attributed to Tupac but it was also used by Pink Floyd back in the 60s...
Hollywood’s “cut cut cut me up and fuck fuck fuck me up” dance was fucking awesome!! Would love to see Corey do that on stage
I will never get tired of this song

This whole album is amazing. Definitely one of my favorites on this album along with The Negative One and AOV
YES!!! It's definitely different from the rest of their discography, but they have such underrated songs from this album!!

It is here, the best Slipknot song! (in my opinion ofc)
Chrome Waves- That Cursed Armored Train. For god's sake.

Corey does an interview with Larry King and he talks about Cluster. Need to check out Nameless
"You didn't see that on the toilet wall." My brother in christ, you would not believe the shit you see in Iowa sometimes.

its crazy how this song flew by everyones heads until recently
