If Qatar are not careful they will be hated the world over if they aren't willing to behave normally. There are some really horrific situations when it comes to how they treat labourers and people from so called "poor" countries.
      I have personally visited the labour camps where the employers have not paid the workers in months.... And they get less than 10 USD per DAY if they are lucky.
      I donated food many times, even paid for air tickets for some to return home when I could afford to help... because the governments there simply consider them to be sub human and allow them to suffer.

    Three weeks ago, municipal officials swept through more than a dozen apartment buildings in Doha’s Al Mansoura district, evicting 1,200 foreign workers, many of whom were given just two hours to leave their homes. Government authorities said the evictions were unrelated to the World Cup, but apartments in the neighborhood were listed on websites designed to help visiting fans find accommodations.

    If FIFA cared about Human Rights half as much as they say they did, Qatar wouldn't even be participating in the World Cup, let alone hosting it. When money is involved, FIFA's perception of justifiable and unjustifiable becomes blurred.

      Yup, FIFA is a completely corrupt organization that should be banned by all football nations around the world. They should perhaps even be labeled as a criminal organization (very maffia like) and be disbanded. It’s corrupt criminal leaders should be put on trial and than in jail.

    • @sanderdeboer6034
      @sanderdeboer6034 2 года назад +5

      @@rileygoddamnphoenix Obviously corrupt organization FIFA doesn’t care about human rights, but only about their own bottom line. However it isn’t about which countries can join the competition. I feel all countries should be able to join the competition, because that doesn’t impact human rights.
      THE ISSUE here is that the hosting country is a corrupt country with a brutal regime for immigrants. (That is most of the population now). A hosting country should comply to strict humanitarian rules, especially for the infrastructure and stadiums they need to build for the event. Here thousands of workers have died, are wounded, underpaid, not paid at all and treated awfully in terms of housing, working hours, working conditions and overall human rights.
      So FIFA should only select countries that are civilized enough to treat the workers that build the infrastructure for the event properly. And safety should be paramount. This would still allow a large list of countries to host the event. Yes, not all human rights can be taken into account, like freedom of speech or freedom to protest. Maybe that should also be included. But the main focus should be on anything that concerns the organization of the event.

    If you’re a reporter and you’re in this situation you can call the police on them as the two men were not law enforcement, they were not even part of security, they were part of the management of Katara (the place he was reporting in). Katara is private property where a permit is needed to record videos, the reporter said he did have one. The two men didn’t handle it properly regardless if he did or didn’t have a permit. This is where you can call the police so they can assist you with this situation as the reporter wasn’t in the wrong
