Hi
Bruh I paid for a pair yesterday without the discount. Dang it Act Man! You were 1 day late!
recycling live sponsorships is better than finding new ones, ey ass man?
When you realize the '10 year plan' wasn't referring to the wealth of content, but instead how long the content would take
dude this new update got me furious
I will reserve full judgement until season 2 launches but what can I say, the campaign wasn't bad but that is it so far.
When you realize that then what? Why did nearly two hundred people like this comment when he didn't even finish the sentence? I guess nobody notices 🤡
@@ginosko_ so you made that comment based on the fact that his sentence didn't have a fullstop? You chuck a clown emoji in there, clowns make a comment like that.
This 10 year plan gave people about as much to consume as Stalin’s 5 year plan did.
Literally everyone: “Dude, this game needs more content, and NOW!”
343: “We hear you loud and clear! Here’s a cool new Spartan armor in the shop!”
CAT EARS 2.0 ARE ON THE WAY
I blame all the brainless fanboys who were screeching to the heavens about how Infinite is the best Halo game lmao.
@@melaninfarmer I mean it kinda was... For launch lmao

I trust 343 as far as I can throw them.
Halo Infinite's Live Service currently is the definition of "Don't make a girl a promise...if you know you can't keep it."
Elden ring has been such a breath of fresh air because a game came out and was just COMPLETE. No live service no pay to win just a fun game to play day 1.
Complete: the game is pretty unbalanced and buggy, some questlines are being patched in for npc's since they weren't complete on release, and mutliplayer connection for the game is also a joke. I like the game, but the connection issues are worse than the original Dark Soul. It is a nightmare to co-op.
Elden still is badly unoptimsied tho for all consoles a series x should not drop to 30 mid game
@@flamefromHalo Complete in the sense that it has more content than ANY game released in the last few years COMBINED, I agree with you that we shouldn't just ignore their fallacies and mistakes, however we gotta admit that they knocked it out of the park with the exploration, and content aspect... AND they are constantly patching and reworking stuff as they go on, AND the cut content will be reworked and re-released as DLCs which will actually be expansions rather than stupid cosmetics or microtransaction gatekeep stuff.
I also haven't had any problems with multiplayer, I even find players at rune level 260+.
Players have had issues with connectivity but that's probably because the player count is insane compared to DS and Bloodborne.
I'll gladly give them props where they're due.
@@Madeguydo I have done several 100% Elden Ring runs and saying that the game has more content than any recent game combined is gratuitous hyperbole, especially since most bosses in the game reuse assets [Like 10 Nights Cavalry in the game or 9+1/2 Tree Avatars]. I don't deny it has a ton of content, but a lot of it is just copy and pasting with more than half of the boss fights used two or more times.
---"Players have had issues with connectivity but that's probably because the player count is insane compared to DS and Bloodborne." -Defending this point is similar to defending DICE with their poor Battlefront multiplayer stability, they should have had the servers to support it especially with how much they hyped and promoted their game.
---In terms of nightmare to co-op I meant connectivity, as I said I had minimal connection problems with previous souls games and disconnecting/having to run back to a site of grace during co-op is tedious.
I do enjoy the game but it isn't a perfect game in many ways.
@@flamefromHalo Again, I’m not sucking their dick, I know they have made mistakes, but I’ll gladly take content reutilisation and some multiplayer problems (which can be curtailed by using discord/passwords/whatever) over whatever the fuck the rest of the industry is doing.
I agree with you that Elden Ring isn’t a perfect game, but it certainly shits all over the vast majority of recent releases.
Regarding content balance issues, the problem presents itself almost exclusively among tryhard edgelords who think fromsoft games should be all about pvp and with invasions, things that can be safely ignored imho.
The point I’m making is that it is a full game with more than enough content to warrant its full pricetag, and more importantly it’s fun and rewarding, and that’s all I ask from the games I buy.
I just miss Halo 3's way of doing it where Bungie would literally pick out their favorite gamemodes and maps for everyone to be able to download and try out by queuing for a match on those gamemodes and maps, which was always active because everyone had access to it. If 343 just added Forge and did this, they would give the opportunity to have the players make their own fun. On top of that, it could open the gate for more creativity that 343 might not have the time for. And even more so, it would allow 343 to make special cosmetic items for players who get featured on that list of gamemodes and maps.
and on top of that it was before cross play and had larger player numbers than now.
They want more money thats their motive just like many other developers. The era of good games is gone aside from rare ones every so often
Bungie favorites. Those were the days!!
Crazy.. honestly forgot all about Halo. The boys and I stopped playing awhile ago cause of how stale it was getting.
For as much crap as Fortnite gets.. they atleast 100% live up to the "live service" title. Always something new going on with that game.

I haven’t booted up Infinite once this year. Even though the core gameplay is great and well polished, the content is so lacking with the only significant additions being lazy store items. I just got bored of it, which happens with most live services.
I haven't played Infinite in at least a month if not longer.

@@sheldonjplanktonn that's not extreme. The game has a solid foundation. But lack of content ruins it. It's more disappointed than garbage
The gameplay really isn’t that good. The weapon sandbox is horrible. Vehicles are horrible and get blown up in seconds and rarely spawn. Maps are bad.
Your analogy towards the end was spot on. It makes me sad to remember what halo once was, like Halo 3 was that shining city on a hill for the entire industry to aspire to be. Now the soul is just gone.
I think that it would be appropriate to say that halo CE-3 was a grand statue and ODST and Reach were it’s crown and scepter. Meanwhile all of 343’s halo games have been “a monument to all of our sins”

When you hear “live service” don’t think of it as “live service”, think of it as a “game on life support”. When it doesn’t get the support it needs it dies. When you don’t hook it up to machines pumping out fun updates and CONTENT it dies.
Much better actually. A far more accurate and necessarily depressing description. So poor and half-baked was its conception that right out of the womb it had to be hooked up to the oxygen machine.

Call of duty nervously sweating in the corner
Modern Warfare launched like a fully featured game and got content out quickly. Now I have issues with core aspects of the game design and map design clashing very badly with one another, but they added and changed things far quicker then Halo has been able to (it also launched in a far better state).
@@arrowknee7356 honestly you are right about the content coming quickly but MW had a lack of maps and modes and launch some of the modes being a stable in COD like gun game and search and destroy missing and we had to wait for the content to come and the same could be said with CW. “We’re planning our plans but we have to delay our plans to plan the plans” best sentence I have ever heard😂🤣
I will never understand why they didn’t just use the reach system. They already had a model that worked perfectly in almost every aspect and would satisfy 99% of the player base with gameplay that actually feels meaningful. Being able to vote what map to play on made such a massive difference on how long I’d play. And the ranking system kept me coming back every single day. Obviously they didn’t do this for money which seems to be by default with AAA companies now. They did not play their cards for the long run at all and instead jumped on a shitty bandwagon and expected everyone to whip out their wallets and drop stacks on shit that already should have been free to earn in the game. (And god damn it worked for a little while) I’m hoping this is a no man’s sky situation and it makes a massive comeback. But as of now I’m gonna put the game on the shelf until it gets itself together.
Because 343 didn't make Reach, they don't have the mental capacity and clearly the devs only have the mindset of "need to do better than CoD and Battlefield" rather than "need to improve over previous games"
it should have costed money if the game did 343 would do shit
Situations like this are why I don't stick to one game, I usually bounce around with whatever I feel like.
For anyone looking for some dope ass games, I recommend deep rock galactic, dead cells, starcraft 2, risk of rain 2, team fortress 2, fallout 4, dusk and ultrakill

I keep saying this, 343i's biggest issue is management. They have the resources to have been able to do some of these simple features like stat tracking, etc. But management dropped the ball and hasnt properly allocated and managed things. They've needed a shakeup for a long time. The core team is talented and capable
I wholeheartedly agree. They make millions of dollars each and every single year, yet they continuously fail.
That's every single AAA company's issue. They all have more than enough money and resources to create amazing games, but management and executives are too incompetent and short sighted to make it happen.

As a long time Halo fan I was really excited to dive into Infinite. Once I experienced the campaign and put some good hours into multiplayer, while I enjoyed the multiplayer nothing grabbed me to keep me there and as a fan that just isn’t a good sign for the game - in 3/5 years the game will probably be in a good spot

Live services continue to bring in a flow of revenue. They only want us to think we need live services because they bring in the big bucks
I would much rather pay an extra $15 a couple months after release for some extra missions. Classic DLC business model seemed to work out a lot better for content. I know I couldn’t fucking wait for the BO2 DLC to come out. Nothing like waiting for a new zombies map. Unfortunate how both these companies have slipped and fallen into their own shit.
4:14 “a massive push for season 2” yea a whole fucking 2 maps and 3 game modes!!!!! HAHAHHAHAHA
I have not played Halo at all in months. Infinite has finalized it for me that Halo is well and dead. It doesn't matter what they add post-launch because it's all stuff that should have been in the game from the beginning. Co-op is being delayed which I knew it would be and forge will likely follow suit. Both will very likely be broken. It took 343 FOUR WEEKS to fix ONE game mode. I have no faith in them. Halo is just a cash cow for two greedy companies. They count on younger new fans to the franchise who never played Halo much before to keep the game alive and keep buying their overpriced microtransactions with their parents' credit cards. I know what Halo was before and what it is now and it is night and day. Bungie's games weren't perfect but they are MUCH better than Halo now. Halo 3 from 2007 a game from almost FIFTEEN years ago has more content than a game from 2021. That is beyond insane. I'm sticking with other better games and I don't see myself going back to Halo anytime soon except for mods like Halo Reach: Evolved, Cursed Halo, and SPV3. The fact modders can make stuff more fun and with more content than the actual game devs speak volumes. Congrats MS and 343. You killed Halo a franchise I have loved for sixteen years now since 2006. It’s been 10 years, at what point does this companies predatory incompetence become unacceptable? 343i should be replaced, or ripped apart from the top down. 343 Industries with Bonnie Ross and Frank O’Conner are an embarrassment.
I remember seeing tweets from multiple 343 devs saying how they were proud to have worked on specific FOB, this or that, etc., throughout the map. The problem is, they're literally all very generic. I feel like 'some' devs of beloved franchises are satisfied with doing the bare minimum that's expected of them rather than going above and beyond to create something special that will be remembered for years to come. I enjoyed the campaign, but holy shit the lack of unique environments was painfully obvious (among the several other issues with it). Halo CE, 2, and 3 were a grand statue (of master chief) while Halo 3 ODST and Halo Reach were it’s crown and scepter. Meanwhile all of 343’s Halo games are “a monument to all your sins”
Halo Infinite taught me one very important lesson:
Never ever get hyped for anything. Just assume everything will be garbage. 343 has killed me enthusiasm for this entire franchise. I don't even feel like playing the MCC anymore. Never thought there'd come a day where I wouldn't have Halo installed on my Xbox anymore.
Fuck me, gaming is depressing right now. There's something seriously wrong when almost everything I'm playing on my brand new Xbox Series X is old, backwards compatible games.
I feel this so much. If you had told 14yr old me I would eventually uninstall halo out of disappointment, I would have laughed in your face

Meanwhile on MCC in Reach I’m still experiencing new things because the community is able to make their own fun.

What's so sad about Halo is the fact the gameplay is near perfection but they forgot a little thing called content, how one of the biggest richest companies in the world can not see this is beyond me
If this was a new IP I'd be forgiving but it's Halo, features that we had in 2007 and worked flawlessly are either missing or broken in 2022. I understand game development is incredibly complex but it's just feels wrong that this is the case.
Yeah, how can they keep regressing like this? Games released 15 years got almost everything right. Why are they now getting so much wrong and so consistently?
@@nixonagnewreviews7206 because companies have gotten greedier, don't get me wrong Halo Infinite is 343's first big success in terms of being an actual game that is fundamentally Halo. But, there is so many things that they have to work on for it to truly be a fantastic game
@@nightterrors2976 Man the first 3 halo's were so simple and offered enough replayability content to keep fans engaged for 15 years. people are already switching off from Infinite within 3-4 months, even when the budget is 10x more. Shame.
@@nixonagnewreviews7206 the budget was not 500 million dollars, that has been debunked. Also, as I have said before, companies have gotten greedier, which lead to the creation of a Live Service Model. And these companies copy the model because they want their own little spin on it. This is 343's best iteration of Halo, despite all of the bugs and lack of content, there will be another chance for them to make Halo great again, these next two seasons will make or break the game. I'm patiently waiting for The Act Man to do a season 2 review because I know he's the only content halo infinite had since the beginning. I personally don't even wanna touch this season
I took one look at it, saw nothing has changed since the end of season 1, and promptly stopped considering playing it.
At least Elden Ring is great.
@@isosev ngl my comment did come off rudely, but honestly I've seen a lot of negative stuff about this season and can't really get excited for maps and modes that should've released around the first month of launch
Halo Infinite at launch was missing a leg and an arm. Quickplay and BTB are the legs the whole game stands on, and BTB gave out. The two arms are competitive and campaign, not everyone play them but they get things moving. Campaign was late and unfinished. Basically prosthetics. Those arms are carrying a VK commando, it hits hard but misses a whole lot once it gets firing and has tons of recoil. The custom options are the heart that keeps the whole body warm and circulate players among the limbs. There is no heart right now.
As an OG Halo fan it's strange to have Infinite shelved so quickly, I played the campaign twice but it doesn't seem like a living world - there's no reason to go back to it and I can't pick and choose missions to replay. On the multiplayer side my preference has always been a BTB w/ Vehicles or firefight, but I haven't even tried to play it since it was fixed. I'm playing through MCC with my kids now that they're old enough, game by game. I'm hoping by the time we get to Infinite (in about a year) it'll be more matured as a product; something I can put my time into.
OG fan here. Still playing. BTB is back and not too bad. No predictable vehicle spawns (much less BTB Heavies) has hurt it bad. Also, the maps are kinda meh (H3's are way better). Couldn't agree more that Infinite needs Firefight, as well as co-op campaign. I don't see why they couldn't do it.
That said, when playing with buddies, we always go MCC, and I split my time about 50-50 between the two now.
Playing with your kids must be an absolute blast. Enjoy introducing them to the Library!
I don’t see why they bothered to create an open world. It seems like it only caused more problems for development than it was worth. There’s some neat side missions in it and a lot of cool little tidbits to find, but I’d rather have 8-10 well written missions with good dialogue than 100+ audio logs to find and scroll through to understand the story.
@@samuelzuleger5134 Library is literally up next - you could have heard a pin drop when some of the Flood cutscenes in 343 Guilty Spark played - they were transfixed.
@@Aredel It seemed like a half-hearted attempt at open world. I've been watching Elden Ring playthroughs and the variety of gameplay, animals, and enemies, plus simple mechanics like New game plus, and some enemies that are gone permanently when you kill them, vs. some that stay around whenever you come back to an area... this stuff shouldn't have been that hard!
@@RichInMN Awesome! Good luck.
The server browser is a good point. Both Rust and Counter strike have them and are consistently in the most played games on steam list/charts. The origins of live service can be seen in older mmo's. The difference is they started out with substantially more content as a base and then built on top of it. Live services try to mimic the early access model without saying that they are early access.

I love that you had some gauntlet dark legacy music in the background
I feel like 343 has their priorities backwards. It seems they want to drop everything they have in their pockets in one fell swoop with the next season, but doing this only stagnates progress, because the large majority of the player base doesn't want to wait so long for promised additions like forge and co-op campaign. Adding maybe a new weapon or a new mode every now and then gets players interested without the developers having to exhaust so many resources. Personally, I just want new maps, even ones the community makes. It did wonders for Halo 5.
Forge should be a launch feature or else the game is objectively worse than any game made after Halo 3 and before Halo 5
@@MaxiemumKarnage forge is delayed to season 3 they said today
@@modernwarrior24 Forge could breathe some much needed life into Infinite. Too bad it's so far away.
@@theguylivinginyourwalls What’s sad is that a lot of people said they should’ve delayed Halo Infinite for another year. It needed that extra time to cook. But some fans were so insistent on getting it out soon, and here we are.
Hopefully Season 2 does wonders, but I doubt it will ever reach the amount of players on opening again. Which sucks because if it came out with all that, I think Halo Infinite would have the possibility to maintain a very large audience for the next few years.
This game needs social features big time! Pre Game Lobby, service records, veto system, military progression system, ect.
Halo 3/Reach was the pinnacle of the franchise. Everything was all there, right from launch! Forge, working Theater Mode, playable Elites, everything. All there.
Bricky made a great analogy in his Halo Infinite video of it needing "big dick content". Basically stuff to grind/work towards to show off your "big dick" to everyone.
Like a skin for getting 10,000 kills or whatever, even as something as simple as a rank to progress. Infinite has nothing like that apart from the battlepass and you can pay to get that stuff so it's not really "big dick" worthy stuff.
It's like seeing someone in MW2 who was 10th prestige really early on in the game or someone who had the top weapon skin that you only got via headshots. That person was able to show off their achievements to the lobby. Halo ain't got none of that as it was purely designed around a battle pass progression system.
I thought the statue analogy was spot on. A really insightful way to explain the dynamic between all these different features and what fans can bring to the table if you let them. Well said.
I think custom games and a server browser would go a long way. Like 343 could look at the custom modes people make and if they are popular enough put them in the matchmaking maybe in like a customs highlight playlist. The same goes for forge some of my favorite maps were forge maps in reach that got added to matchmaking. Giving the community the tools to make content while they take their time and polish whatever maps and modes they are working on would be a good start to building the community to where it used to be 10 years ago.
It really feels like halo has gone backwards. Yes infinite has a strong core gameplay but my fondest memories was the player made modes and maps from halo 3 and I don't think I can get back to that ever. Partly because of time but mostly because people don't even have the tools to create with
I’m already happy this video exists. We need the community (and you are a flagship of the Halo community) to speak up against this.
The more backlash and the bigger the boycott, the more they will be forced to actually service fans!
Honestly incredible the amount of work that Infinite needs. I remember them mentioning they'd be putting Jeff Steitzer's voice back into BTB after one of the flights in the summer. Still no word on that lmao
It sucks that they apparently "listen to the community" and still can't launch a fully featured Halo game or meet their own deadlines.

I've jumped back into Halo as of last week and while I'm enjoying playing it's pretty sad to not unlock anything as I progress. I've mostly been unlocking things that are locked behind a battlepass pay wall. It's really disappointing they offer next to no cosmetics for free. They really need to improve that side of things
I have been with actman since he had like 300k subs, I'm happy to see him now have over 1mil
I absolutely love the statue analogy. Describes perfectly what is Halo to the Halo Community and how Infinite is unable to let many parts of it hold the statue up high.
Honestly the lack of community input was the death of this game for me. I’m a BTB guy so when I launched big team for the first time and saw that there were 3 modes and 3 maps that felt like a slap in the face but having a community tab where I can go watch some funny plays or see a stupid picture of a Spartan with a plasma nade on his nuts would’ve been fun to look at. even better have a community gamemodes. Imagine being able to play Jenga, or duck hunt with randoms online. The lack of forge wasn’t the nail in the coffin for me but it definitely would’ve made me stick around a lot longer.
I’m probably in the minority here but I always loved Halo 1 the best. The PC version called “custom edition” with custom mods and maps never got old. I played that game off and on for over a decade and I’m sure there are still people playing it to this day.
Oh my god yes. So many hours on the local school network during lunch.
Those nerds in the computer lab never stood a chance against the library nerds! We have books!
I loved the statue analogy, it was exciting and made me wish I could have been a part of such an awesome scene.
One of my big issues with 343 right now is they seem somewhat deceptive. We were told that the campaign would have many weapons not yet seen in multiplayer, and then when the campaign came out it the only NEW weapon was the scrap cannon everything else was variants it really sucked being hyped to find something hoping for some old classic weapons and only having one new one after being told many should exist. They ride of technical terms sometimes and it's misleading as hell
Don't forget their entire marketing campaign for halo 5. They have ALWAYS had deceptive higher ups and marketing teams that dictate what they should show and say and how they should express it. It's very predatory business practices that feed off of our nostalgia. Why else would the first season charge money for one of bungie's best halo games' cosmetics?
@Flare Follows the same tropes and story beats many other games are doing these days.
They ment the legendary weapons in the campaign.
@@negiandtoast8839 He literally addressed those in his comment.
Don’t forget how they said we would have a whole lot of customization for multiplayer but instead are limited to armor cores and we have to buy armor.
the statue analogy was actually perfect, 343 has never understood that about halo. it’s not just about good gameplay or story, it’s the whole package
I can forgive a bad story. Games at the end of the day are about gameplay. And honestly I was EXCITED for an OPEN WORLD HALO TITLE. 343 fucked it up. For example where the fuck is character leveling? Where is weapon leveling and customization? Where's a mini map? Where's dialogue options? WHERE IS SYNCHRONIZATION POINTS? WHERE IS ENEMY LEVELS??? HOly fuck Ubisoft is the king of open world right now.
@@noobbotgaming2173 If you honestly think that Halo was going to go full on open world RPG, then you were bound to be disappointed. Also Ubisoft open worlds have been the same boring chore filled open worlds for like a decade now, with little to no innovation. They are like the most standard average an open world can be.
@@noobbotgaming2173 ??????????????????????????????????????????????????
Tbh, he partially has a point. While it’s stupid to think that Infinite would just cut and paste the latest AC games into it, they didn’t really do anything with the open world. Think about it: what does the open world add to the game that would be sorely missed if it wasn’t? The story missions have nothing to do with the rest of the open world; nothing changes if you avoid the side quests. There’s no benefit to doing them besides a few fancy weapons.
@@Aredel yeah, I don't disagree, Halo's open world really just existed for padding and a proof of concept. But if Halo came out as a full on open world RPG, then I would have been quite disappointed and confused as to why they would have done that.
Here's a redpill that's hard to swallow: I truly think this game needed another year delay for better/finished Campaign/multiplayer.
Also you know what they shouldn't/ should not do? Just throw in a f*cking Battle Royal and be like "Oh look guys! We still care! See come back we got a gimmicky BR mode!" I better not see that. They need to bunker down and deliver content that the community wants, not some bs marketing crap.
Last Spartan Standing has entered the chat
That final analogy is excellent: 343 is putting all the weight on their own shoulders... if they could empower the community more, the load would be much lighter and Halo would almost run itself.
Mr. Act's point about player-made content is entirely the reason why Arma 3 is still alive today. It even has a higher player count than Battlefield, Call of Duty, and Halo, yet its target audience is (in my opinion) the smallest in the gaming hobby (the milsim community). The game is very difficult to get into due to how many different communities there are and how different your experience will be for every group you become part of. For those who don't know, Arma 3 is essentially the steroid chad cousin of Roblox and Gmod. Its target audience is those interested in military simulation communities, but can be modded into anything really. My personal community, Task Force Trauma, is ENTIRELY built by myself along with mods provided by the Steam Workshop. Without modders and creative organizers like myself, Arma would have been dead 8 years ago. It is how it remains alive and VERY well to this day. Its why Halo Reach and Halo 3 are the titles that come to mind when I think of Halo. Hell, I can create milsim Halo ops in Arma 3 that surpass any Halo experience I've ever had. Like for fucks sake 343, I have no reason to come back to your game and I only have like 7 hours total on it. You guys have to make a change to retain your primary audience.

Been a halo fan since 2004. Fell in love with the story, read all the books. Loved all the bungie games. Didn’t care for 4 or 5 on launch, only recently discovered newfound love for them. Infinite… introduced some new, bold and fun features. That’s all the good I can say unfortunately. The keystone for a halo title in my eyes is the campaign, the story and it’s just not there for infinite. The potential was there but it just feels so damn incomplete and unimportant. I don’t think I’ve picked the game up since last year and I really really wanted to love it.

I haven't played Infinite outside of the story, it's a super fun game, the issue to me seems to be management, and not the developers themselves, they don't get paid to do what they want, they get paid to do what they're told, and if management is telling them to make more spartan armor for the shop, then they'll make that instead of something they'd want to make, like more real content or something.

If a team isn’t succeeding, you can usually always look at what the leader in charge is doing for why
It's amazing how many people completely disregard this fact
What's worse is that you can see that even making shop content, they aren't having fun with it there either. When making a game it needs to start as an idea that can snowball into what you think seems cool. Fans don't want what the management wants, fans want to see the developers get creative and try to have fun with the tools at their disposal.
No, at this point the devs are also responsible.
Me personally I'm a forge and custom games player and btb is my main matchmaking mode. I haven't been happy about how halo infinite is being utilized and I hope it gets better.
I really liked your analogy at the end. It's so true, that's why Halo 3 was the most popular Halo game, because it created and satisfied so many different groups of players.
My favorite shooter of all time. You could play all kinds of customs, race with mongooses, build your own swat level, play co op. There was a ton to play.
I'm someone who mainly plays halo for the campaigns. I've put thousands if not tens of thousands of hours into the classic halo campaigns. That being said, Infinite's campaign was an enormous let down for me in almost every way. No big battles, no high stakes in the story, marines are unimportant, vehicles are gimped by both the incredibly vertical level design and also the ridiculously low health values, the story feels incomplete like we were stuck with the middle third and the first and last thirds were cut (which would make sense because apparently 2/3 of the campaign was cut according to 343), permanent abilities hurt the campaign in several really fundamental ways, etc. So even if the multiplayer side of things gets better, I'm still here like "well, I don't have a campaign to play that I really enjoy. What am I even supposed to do now?" Don't get me wrong, I've always loved Halo's multiplayer but campaign is what I really look forward to in a halo game.
The campaign was seriously so underwhelming, I don’t get the hype for it. Every level was exploring metallic corridors or fighting in the grassy open world.
"marines are unimportant" they are REALLY important in legendary what are you talking about?
Yes, you said it. Another campaign that i'm not looking to do again. So much do not make sence in the story telling, lack of explanation, just copy and paste all over one big map with a lazy far cry capture the base feature and don't make me talk about the scaner.....
@@PeterParker-yg6fc i thing what he mean is the fact that they are irevelent to the story. If you save those marine or not, well that is not gonna affect the plot because they never interact outside of the annexe mission (there apperance on the map is tread as non-canon). Banish only talk about Master Chief, unsc is left without any leader. Halo had (event Halo 5) alway been able to tell a war story between the humain empire and the alien (covi ect ...) but here it feel more like you are playing a Doom type. It could have been so much more....
I love the campaign, but it has not enough variety. I played once more to get all collectibles and some legendary, and watched all the cool secrets they hid pointing to things they cut or never added to the game. Halo's core of enemies is strong, but not so strong it can hold up this entire campaign

Most people dont get Halo and never will. The age of arena shooters has long passed. But as I assume youre younger than my 30yr old ass, tell your friends how Halo was once likened to the GODs and GOATs of FPS. Doom. Quake, Unreal Tournament. It was chess with guns. An intellectual shooter. Kids these days will never understand this gameplay style. If new Halo players understood this, they could maybe make Halo great again.
