I was lucky to live by my cambodian neighbors in rialto, California in the mid 80s..we all lived in the same complex on west ramona ave.. they were very hospitable and it was an honor to be accepted in their home for dinner.. I remember my 3 friends kannareth kanribol and vannok sath.. i would always go to each of their houses and whenever i went inside their mothers would feed me spicy grilled fish.. noodle or rice.. By the time i visited all 3 of my friends i would be so full i couldnt play our daily games of ping pong and wouldnt have room to eat at the donut place we would go to but that just goes to show the incredible hospitality of their culture..finally i told them to meet me outside because it was like eating daily at a buffet but the food was delicious!! god bless the sath family for sharing their culture with me.
Did anyone get any stomach aches? Want to be more adventurous my next visit I went last spring but got a stomach ache from boklahong in the beginning of my trip. Any tips to prevent that happening?
Orussey Market is one of our favorite hangout places for lunch away from a tourist trap like Central Market or riverfront area. Olympic Market is another place to check out. Greeting from Minnesota!
