Hi Mark! I'm a Cambodian living in Ohio, USA. I just want to let you know that we don't eat the scale of the grilled snake head fish coz it's kinda hard. But it's gonna be crispy if it's deep fried 😊 And for the raw prhok and fermented fish with pork and egg are salty so, you gotta eat a bit amount and dip it with veggies. Anyway, thanks so much for sharing your experiences from my homeland.
Lived in Battambang and worked in Samlout for a few months and grew to love the country. Very excited that you're covering this beautiful country! Keep up the good work!
American Cambodian here. Never been but I would love to. I love watching your videos Mark. I love your positive spirit and your joy for spicy foods. One of my favorite channels to watch
It warms my heart to see Mark and his family enjoying all the different types of foods. His love for food reminds me of my sweet Dan. He also enjoyed eating, but especially cooking. Blessings from Texas. 😊🇨🇱🇺🇸
That Pho place you just visited is right in front of the house where I used to live before coming to the United States. It's my hometown. Thanks Mark for going to Cambodia and show the world about its vast variety of food.
mark is marching towards 1 million subs, his positive attitude is indomitable no matter how keyboard warriors comment on his facial expression etc. Keep marching on Mark!
It is a pleasure watching your videos. It makes me happy seeing the person your becoming, responsable father and husband. Having friends you can share meals with. Achieving some of your dreams spending much of your life filming the wonderful foods and bring, sharing your life with us , the viewers. May your road be long and be filled each day with happiness.
Always great full to you Mark! You always respect every tradition and culture of the particular place. Please never quit making videos and never stop eating!!😊
The favorite dish you had is call minced "Prohok", it's a fermented fish dish with a lot of lemongrass and it's completely raw. I'm surprised you didn't think it was salty. That dish is supposed to be eaten with fresh vegetable to compliment the saltiness.
Your wife is a phenomenal partner in your travel’s carrying Micah, eating and breastfeeding in this video 6 years ago. It is fun to watch you and your family travel the world and educating us about other cultures and food. What an experience and for Micah all I can say is WOW! An experience of a lifetime! ❤
Micah is one luck baby, still a baby but got to travel all around the world n experience diff culture, even though he is to young to remember any of it, but still the memory is there^.^
Rose Lee it’s not BBQ stick it’s grill sliced beef and we eat it with terk prahok ( prahok sauce ) which is one of the most popular cambodia street food . I think you not one of the local people if you don’t know this amazing food .
Joel is so cute!!!!! Is he also vlogging his travels???? And your whole family is adorable, love seeing you all eat together! Your videos bring me so much joy and make me super hungry all the time haha!! Thanks Mark!! 😊😊😊💖
Thank you for the insightful videos on Khmer food Mark. I am Cambodian myself and I'm glad there's someone like you with a big audience exploring places like Cambodia.
Mark, you should also visit Siem Reap. Most of our old traditional cuisine is hiding there in the country side of Siem Reap such as Prohok, girlling chicken in the bamboo, Ah Mok. Moroever, I would also recomended you to visit Kean Svay Resortt, it located near the Phnom Penh city. It has variety of foods stall that sell a lot of delicious foods that will give you a mouthwatering experience. Probably, you will be excited with the natural landscape over there. You can also ride a boat after you have done eaten your meal, because there is a large stream close to the market. The foods is cheap and you just spend some money to rent a bungalow to sit and have meal.
U are one of the real food explorer.....most ppl will only go for food they are familiar with or to their liking. But u always tried everything and surprisingly all seems delicious to u
I need a fire disting extinguisher next morning if I eat chilly like you. 😉 btw, thnx for the nice video Mark. The phở in Cambodia looks exactly like the one in Vietnam.
Pa Kgcham : I don't see any differene tbh. This is excatly how South Vietnam eat Pho. Maybe it is cheaper than Vietnam? Pho in South Vietnam is not cheap if you expect it to be really good.
Genesis 1:29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.
Yes! Mark! This is the right way to eat it. With all those wild herbs, it have the medicinal properties to sooth the stomach inner intestine especially if we consumed this way. In modern chained restaurant, the "PHO" is likely garnish with bean sprout and coriander leaf only . The restaurant will definitely forgo the green garnish:- spring onion, cabbage, wild herbs leaf or baby leeks. But without this few more add-on green garnish it will be incomplete. People who ate a lot of processed food with sugar content. The common symptom are bloated and flatulence which causes by poor digestive system. This herbs really help to stop that.
Hey mark! can you plz expalin in your every single video, what kind of meat you are eating (of which animal)so we could easily decide whether to eat there or not because there are muslim viewers too. thanx
If you travel to Southeast Asia just know that beef is considered to be expensive, so if it's a beef dish it'll say beef. If the description is just meat, it's likely pork.
It's mostly pork and fish in Cambodian diet. In the market, you have choice and you need to ask or tell you don't want pork. But don't worry, there are Mosques and million of Muslims in Cambodia.
I love that Ying has a new colorful fan for every country. 😊 She used a different fan in the Philippines, and I think this is a nice theme to build on!
Mark had really changed my mind on foods other than the small variety I eat in America. And I swear I've never seen anybody love food so much. You're so awesome mark, and I adore your videos. Keep up the amazing work.
I love this. I love your videos and travels. I can't wait to visit with my family. Just a side note, It's not Vietnamese pho. There is a difference. I personally prefer the Cambodian style and they don't call it pho, its called Kathio. Not sure how to spell that but it's not pho. Both are delicious but Cambodian kathio is just so much more flavorful to me. That's probably why you said it was one of the best you've ever had 🤔😋
I have been watching so many of Mark Wiens' foods videos, and of course baby Micah is cute, I keep guessing that Micah's mom is Thai and Mark himself is half Thai and half-Caucasian. Am I correct? Anyone can clarify for me?
