On this Cambodian street food tour in Phnom Penh, I’m taking you on a one day tour to eat authentic Khmer breakfast lunch and dinner in a single day.
    Cambodian Breakfast - 7 am
There are plenty of dishes you can eat for breakfast in Cambodia, but nothing is as popular or widely available as a dish called bai sach chrouk, grilled thin strips of marinated pork over broken rice with pickles and soup on the side. It’s a simple combination, but a plate for breakfast is extremely satisfying. Price - 3,500 KHR ($0.84)
    Cambodian Lunch - 11:30 am
Just outside of Psar Chas (Old Market) in Phnom Penh, you’ll find an abundance of colorful Khmer street food stall that serve all sorts of grilled river fish, and a huge selection of different dishes to choose from. While most locals get their food for takeaway, a kind lady offered us a seat in front of her house to sit down and eat. It was an amazing and extremely local Cambodian food lunch. The grilled fish and the parhok were my favorite dishes. Lunch total price - 35,000 KHR ($8.42)
    Cambodian Dinner - 6:30 pm
For Cambodian dinner we decided to eat Cambodian bbq, and it’s a type of restaurant you’re going to want to try when you’re in Cambodia. 34 Langeach Sros is a Cambodian beer garden style restaurant, and they have a pretty good assortment of grilled meats and unique Cambodian delicacies. It was one of the tastiest Cambodian meals I’ve ever had in my life. The ant larvae and goat was amazing, and the eel fried with herbs was outstanding. Thank you to Lina from www.movetocambodia.com/ for the recommendation. Total price - $22.88
That completes an authentic tour of Cambodian food in a single day, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoyed it!

I have been watching Mark Weins on RUclips for some 5 years and I must say this Cambodia 3-meal video is arguably the best so far. Maybe it's because Mark has taken something so unusual, so foreign (to an open western mind) and made it approachable, easy to understand and highly appetizing. Mark also has a keen sense of his surroundings, showing great respect to locals while engaging them to inject some very good natured humor. Few on TV (aside from maybe Luke Nguyen) are able to demonstrate this quality consistently like Mark. A true sign of an international star rising to great success.

I'm so happy you visited cambodia. I will be visiting the motherland next month and I can't wait to eat all the awesome food. I think Cambodian food is so underrated, it's one of the most delicious food in South east asia. Everybody needs to go try it.

In Cambodia, I visited the city of Siem Reap only, but I NEVER complained about food ! I still do not know how, but the South-Eastern Asians KNOW what the good food IS.
Mark, you seem to be a happy man, always a smile on your face. I love how you enjoy the food; just watching your face while eating and describing the food flavors....hmmm, there is rain in my mouth.

Hi Mark. I am from the US and my parents really loved this video of yours. We are Cambodian and this video just brought them home. Everything that you ate for breakfast is meant to eat in small small portions that is why it is so salty and you eat it with the fresh vegetables. Can't wait for your other Khmer video's.

Its very refreshing to see food bloggers as daring as you Mark. I mean Andrew Zimmern is definitely the guy who started it all but he's pretty much going for all the hardcore bizarre foods. You on the other hand showcase simple dishes that usually don''t get the limelight it solely deserves. I never really thought to myself as a food blogger but seeing your videos makes me want to start chomping in front of a camera as well.

A suggestion for your videos, would be great if you could have a preset budget like 15 - 20 $ and what can be done in the city (any city infact) for a day, perhaps it could be featured in one of your new Vlogs. Keeping the budget title could also be a way to bring in more viewers to your channel and videos.

Hey Mark! I've been following you for a while and just noticed you're now shooting in 4K. I've always enjoyed your videos, commentary, and love for travel and food. Your passion shows up on so many levels. Even more so now that the video is so amazingly sharp. Looks amazing on my 4K widescreen tv.

Hi mark!!! You should do a video on your other channels answering some questions we post on your vidoes please!!! My question would be have you ever gotten food poisoning or sick off of eating street food?

    • @PKAPE004
      @PKAPE004 7 лет назад

brah ket, the food stands here are literally next to passing traffic, the exhaust fumes from the motorbikes probably kill off any bacterias.

larisa garcia, just a bit of sarcasm from me😁. If you are from first a world country, be very selective of street food in Cambodia as your stomach may not be ready for it. That said, they have many first class restaurants.

Great video as always! Just sharing, the green mixing which you eat with the grilled snake head fish is young tamarind ground with garlic, ginger and spice. I love it, one of my favorite.
