Good evening guys, and welcome to the latest walkaround video, which this time features the brand new Renault Clio. Does it have Va Va Voom, though? Watch to find out.
Renault looks to have prioritised boot space over rear cabin space, much like Peugeot did with the 308. I suppose it make sense to beat the competition in a specific area so that it stands out more. Also, quite a nice paint job on a decent looking car.
Another brilliant video! If we were to replace our GT spec for spec, we'd go for the TCe 130. I have always found that the Clio seems larger than its competitors. Glove box wise this car fares better than right hand drive Peugeots which have to make do with half a glove box. The fact that the new looks similar to the previous model ensures that our car does not look prehistoric when we are out and about.
I think the latest French cars overall have lots of lovely styling, I own a 2017 C3 I love it. I agree with you Aaron the Clio in that colour looks gorgeous, nice video mate 👍
Just about to buy one of these in Germany. Rs line special edition based on the German version of this model, exras include dezir red metallic paint , rs bodykit, special edition alloys, keyless entry, climate control, 7 inch touchscreen with sat nav, heated seats, auto lights, all round electric windows. Pre registered with delivery mileage for just over 15000 euros.
Very nice car, I've always thought Renault do really nice paintwork and colours. As a separate note it would be nice to see Renault come out with a new saloon , maybe reboot the old Laguna, that would sell I think.
@@CarObsession Thanks. I don't mean to bug you but could you please spare a further moment to clarify another aspect to do with the volume control(s)? Dorky question I realise but I'm confused: I took delivery today and I see that on the SCREEN there's a volume control bar allowing increase/decrease so what's THAT all about given there's the aforementioned volume control stalk on the right side of the steering wheel? Huh? Also, what on earth is the purpose of that infuriating jingle that accosts the ear immediately on opening the driver's door, even before being able to sit behind the wheel? I find it perfectly acceptable if such a sound should act as a reminder, for example, to put a seat belt on but, repeat, what's the purpose in this instance? >Can it be turned off< and, if so, •how exactly?• My first impressions of the beast are not favourable. The horrible engine sounds like a cross between a cement‐ mixer and a decidedly grumpy diesel. The gearbox certainly doesn't qualify for any prizes either. In passing, I'm glad to see that the satnav device is better than that found on the Zoe. Having just gone back to an ICE from a BEV., I stalled the Clio a few times today in the course of getting acquainted. Am I correct in saying that before pressing the 'start motor' button you have to first put your feet on the brake and clutch pedal(s)? Or what pecisely?
@@DavidHughes-op6zl The additional volume control is so the passenger can adjust (it'd be a bit off-putting if they're reaching over to the steering wheel 😅). The chime when do is open, doubt that can be turned off for safety reasons. Starting the car, from memory (I only had the car for a week and it was a while ago) I only had to depress the clutch. Hope this helps.
@@CarObsession Thanks for your further enlightenment. Much appreciated. It's massive bad news that that wretched chime can't be deactivated. I can't for the life of me see how it's remotely a safety feature when it makes its damn presence known simply by opening the driver's door. A mega nuisance and a totally unnecessary gimmick .
I must say the Fiesta MK 8 is quite disappointing and disproportional. Not many cars are? if you look at the bonnet of the new Fiesta, head on, it goes too wide and too flat. Theres no elevation, and the lights sit too low and are set too wide for that bonnet. It's way off and is not tapered in at all. "The designer should be fired". It looks like a saloon/Sedan bonnet from the front and it's actually a hatchback. It's a Complete mis-match and does not look sporty, unlike Mk7 did in the St line model. From the back, the fiesta looks like an mpv/cross over wannabe people carrier. Ps. There are no standard led rear lights even in the ST line model. They are only reserved for the ST model and titanium model only. Very Disappointing.

What a fantastic presenter. Very professional and a natural on camera.

Got mine Jan 2020. No problems yet
Is the volume control for the satnav in the same place as for the radio, ie on the right‐hand side of the steering wheel? If not, where?
Hi David, I believe it is, yes. Thanks for watching.

A manual handbrake in 2020?
Yeah, they haven't died out just yet. Thanks for watching.

Does the Clio come with a cd player?.
No, thanks for watching.
They stopped having CD players when they brought out the Mk 4 as far as i'm aware.
Those headrests in the Clio remind me of the ones in Volvo cars otherwise the rest of the car looks good in my opinion.
