I've had a 2024 Renault Clio Hybrid E Tech 145 for two months now, and I`m over the moon with it. It's Fantastic. I`ve never owned an Automatic before, and I'm now thinking, "Wow , just look what I've been missing ?". This hybrid is so good I find driving it a dream . The automatic electric Handbrake is a super little addition and I love not having to pull a handle up or down as it has an automatic handbrake which activates and deactivates itself if you select the auto function situated below the actual H/brake on/off light behind the Auto lever . This car pretty much drives itself and if you put it in the "B" driving mode it even Brakes on its own accord every time you lift your foot off the accelerator pedal. That might sound scary, but believe me you soon adapt to it braking itself and you learn to manipulate the accelerator and the auto braking in tandem. You don`t have to drive in "B" mode but it's there as an option if you want to . All in all I cannot compliment this Hybrid enough as it's brilliant and if you drive shall we say "normally ", you can achieve up to 67 mpg combined . But not only this , there are also an additional 3 selections of driving positions you choose from which are "My Sense" , "Sport" and " Eco". I use "my sense" mainly or "Eco " for basic town Driving , and then change to "Sport" to handle the faster conditions on Duel carriageways or Motorways.
I currently have the mk 4 6 speed 1.2 manual and it's great on the motorway. I've just test driven the new 1.3 semiautomatic and its bloody quick, so responsive gear change that you dont even need the paddle shifters.
Wait a minute Yiou take for granted that a polo has better ride quality. Yet you test on 17s. A polo wobbles a lot even in the front. It is not that great. To get a bit less harsh ride its mechanics made it so that you get down and your insides are shaken and stirred. Citroen does this as well. Ford to an extent. Get behind even the last gen Clio or the ibiza or Mazda equivalent and for a marginal sacrifice in road noise you get a more stable car. And that keeps you fresh after driving for a period of time. Maybe less fresh acoustically? I don't know because all cars make some kind of noise on 90-100 mph on the motorway. Even bigger and more expensive. A 3 db difference is barely heard or felt. A weighted and measured at your ear height for example. Yet the polo and ibiza and Clio are less than 2 db one from another. Fiesta as well. Not only this reviewer but most of them talk without proof. I'd say back your claims. Standardize quantize your tests, measure them on a known route or do group tests etc. Calibrate and use good quality db meters or accelerometers THEN talk about quality of suspension and noise generation.
@@MrProthall No it is not, 3 db is noticeable but not half the volume. Drive in your car and keep abdb meter a weighting up to your ear. I doubt you coukd spot when it jumps from 70 to 73. It is louder you may notice it but it is barely for me. In a car travelling at 90 mph otlr close to 140 I didn't even find a 72db c class totally quiet. My seat on the same route was noticeably louder but it was different. Road noise and minimal wind noise. The merc had a lot of wind noise. Nk road or engine. A c5 was the worst, as it had a booming engine and wind noise which was indicating a problem to the back seals. All cars tested on the same route. All relatively close in db metering. 3 db is there it is not as pronounced as one could think, depends on frequencies. That and the choice to once again offer only auto on top spec is a real disappointment.
You can get CVT auto on the base spec Play model, with the mid-range 100hp TCe petrol.
Quite common on superminis. Still most of the braking is done at the front anyway and drum brakes last longer
Finally, an Englishman who does not have bad teeth

Great review but weird, u sound like your 40+ and a professional presenter but you look like your 12!!! I can't take this review seriously 🤔 even though i love Renault....🙄 I wish i was so articulate! 😂😂😂.
*Disclaimer. We don’t actually employ children.
Just going to step in here and save you watching 15 mins. No. No is the answer.
No. Not as fun to drive as the fiesta, and the clio engine is a joke.
Only good thing about the clio is the boot, comfort and size.
That's rather a lot of positives. 🤣
Lol, you Brits with your Fiesta, you're already getting on everyone's nerves with it. No one would buy nor clio or stupid fiesta. And ibifsa(ibiza)!
Shove it and sod off!
Aww. Have you got over Brexit yet?
I don't even need to watch this, it's French so no I wouldn't, why would I subsidise the French?
That my thinking too.
At least the French has a car industry, what does the Uk have?

Forget a new Renault and buy a quality secondhand German car
German cars have *no* quality. Over-engineered unreliable boxes.
