Frederick III was an effective ruler. He wasn't as reckless or bold as Charles or Maximilian, but his pragmatism and focus on diplomacy probably saved many lives, which was essential for the Empire to survive not only France, but the Ottomans as well who were making hard pushez into Europe at the time.
Finally, someone gets him!
yeah maximillian is often seen as more successfull but he build on the foundation his fath created
true. my Hometown is Wiener Neustadt, also Home town of Friedrich and Maximilian. we are proud of those 2, they are buried here as well. those both founded the Habsburg empire.
I like Maximilian even more after this clip.I like his courage ,determination and outspokenness.
I also love the way they get to know each other ; through their portraits inside lockets and stamped on medallions.Very romantic indeed.
Not MEANT to be romantic in those days! It was the only way of seeing the person you are to marry, even if not your choice you have to obey. So people like Hans Holbein painted Anne of Cleves portrait for it to be sent to Henry V111. The rumour is Holbein thought Anne attractive and was very liberal in his painting and showed her far more attractive than she really was. Henry saw the portrait and said Yes I’ll have her. But in real life, he immediately turned against her because she was ugly he thought, refused to marry her, but MOST fortunately for her, gave her a large allowance, a big home, and she was to be called his sister. So she escaped the inevitable with Henry - the executioners block. And lived the rest of her life in England, as she was important, independent, had money. Whereas at home in Cleves, she was the ruling duke’s little sister and of no importance.
So, THAT was the importance of both large portraits like Holbein painted, and on medals and miniatures, as here. Nothing romantic I’m afraid.
This part always made me smile. Because they seem unknown to each other and yet they want to do this. Thanks Lili1127 for all your videos. Please stay safe and healthy. 🙏😇❤️🙂
Danke für dieses clip. Ich kannte dieser Serie nicht, Ich habe mich den Serie gleich gekauft denn es sieht so genial aus! Vielen Dank !
I saw, in the first beginning, a clip about the attempted rape against Mary and her "decisive" reaction !
Please, send it again !
Thank you very much.

Dieser Hass, er hätte ihn wirklich getötet wenn er nochmal Hand an ihn gelegt hätte
Maximilian had some great dating app openers. Of course since he suggested meeting, he'll have to pay for drinks, even though she's richer.
So I know Maximilian ruled alongside his father for the last ten years of Frederick’s life. Was it because his father was ill or because he wasn’t a good emperor?
In 1493 Frederick's left leg was amputated, due to "age-burning". So bad health.
@@ThomasL58 So very bad diabetes then...
Illness & old age... it also helped if the Heir was already invested in ruling with experience, that made the transfer not an actual "succession" so much as just making it official. All the men taking his orders yesterday would still take his orders today... no rival factions could be competing for an opportune moment to strike.
Marie fille de Charles le téméraire la dernière princesse bourguignonne mariée a Maximilien pour sauver ce qui restait du duché de Bourgogne suite à la défaite de son père face au roi de France
Look what happened to Charles the Bold. The emperor is no grocer.
Umm... Charles gets a bad rap cause it's easy with hindsight to point out how stupid it was to keep sending armies in to attack Swiss pikemen BUT Charles is the reason why everyone learned that fact. But the Electors did chose Fredrick over Charles for a reason... Fredrick was relatively powerless in comparison to Charles. Fredrick & Charles were already trying to marry Mary & Maximilian before Charles died so that their grandson could accomplish what neither man could themselves (Mary early death derailed that plan of unifying Germany into one of the most dysfunctional "Empire" to exist which made even the HRE itself seem rational.)
1:19 he basically told you he doesn’t care about your opinion at all.
Please, anyone? Can I have a link on where to watch/download? 😭♥
go to wlext . is
then search in series, "Maximilian"
My biggest problem with this series is that I start to detest Maximilian. I know he was still very young at this stage, but he comes across as a petulant little boy, constantly throwing tantrums. And what is this nonsense about political marriages being bad? That is a modern sentiment. Back in those days, all marriages were political. People didn't believe romantic love was a good thing. In fact, they debated whether it was even real.
Idk who is maximillian :( can anyone send me link of his biography history

The lesser of two evils.
Can someone explain the part at the end? Why is she doing something she knows she will be punished for?
@National Socialism ok, makes sense, but why is she planning to piss the others off? And why are the others so happy when they say that she will break the contract and punish her for it?
@National Socialism ahh okay, thanks!
@National Socialism history is very interesting...
I'm curious about your name though... what's up with that?
Seems like you choose to be on the wrong side of history...?
@National Socialism we live in a pretty good time, actually
just a little too many pandemics for my liking
@National Socialism what makes you think I am not one of the capitalist oligarchs?
