Both are relatively firm feeling strings, that said, Luxilon 4G is about as stiff as it gets, but has the best tension maintenance. Luxilon ALU Power offers a bit more elasticity and pocketing, and provides a bit more power compared to 4G. Troy, TW
I'm using Babolat Pure Drive Plus 2015 and I needed a string for recommendation. I hit very big forehands and sometimes they go out, I hit very big serves but due to power I put in they are inconsistent and all round play is me whacking the ball where I need to so would RPM Blast work as a good string for me since I blast the ball a lot, I'm looking for something with control and feel and maybe some added spin? If so what gauge should I pick, I'm thinking 17 but I might be choosing the wrong gauge. Thanks
Both strings are extremely similar in playability. I found that compared to RPM, Cyclone is just a little crisper feeling than RPM, and had a little bit better tension maintenance and durability. Both strings are extremely similar in power and spin potential. I personally think that Cyclone is better because of its performance versus its cost.
@ Tom Sung, Cyclone and RPM Blast are fairly similar in terms of playability. They both offer great control and spin, but RPM will be slightly softer and more muted feeling while Cyclone will be crisper and livelier. Andy, TW
Luxilon ALU Power is softer?! Nothing can be further from the truth. ALU will give you a painful wrist and tennis elbow while RPM might not. ROM was designed to be a softer poly.
Love the rpm blast they are my favourite and i have them in all my rackets
You guys should do a 16 rpm blast vs 16 natural gut full review
Hi TW,
I just want to know that what's a better string luxilon 4g or luxilon alu power.thanks

which string is better in a hybrid with nat. gut and which is more arm freindly thanks
@ Jules Lustig,
We found ALU Power to be more arm-friendly and worked better in a hybrid with natural gut.

thank you for your time andy

@ Kassim Abrahamani,
RPM Blast 17g would be a great choice! Give it a try and see what you think.
Andy, TW
have you ever mixed them both in a racket, or would this be a bad idea.
How does Volkl cyclone compare to RPM blast? I really like RPM but cyclone is better priced, are they similar in the way they play?
