Nick has never rebuilt a six cylinder inline engine. But for his cameraman George, he is making an exception.

Anyone who has watched Nick in action knows just how generous that he is. A one of a kind. The best shop show on U Tube.
Wow man is that frank zappa and moon bead the only reason I watch this is for that old zappa vibe
This video is a PLEASANT Surprise! Thank You George. This video is truly the icing on the Cake, Fridays Live episode being the cake. When I think of the “A” Team it includes you George, just isn’t Nicks Garage without you. Beautiful Car. 😃👍
Wow, thank you, Lee. Glad you enjoyed the extra video.
George, I love your 64 Chevy. I completely understand how our cars and trucks become family members. Last month I bought back my mom's last car, a 2000 Mercury Sable LS Premium. She and dad bought it brand new right off the showroom floor. She took meticulous care of it. I have every maintenance and repair documentation from day one, and I have the original window sticker. My nephew bought it about a year and a half ago for his daughter's first car. Unfortunately his ex-wife told the 16 year old girl that old car is not safe. She refused to drive it. Her loss. The car has 59k miles and looks brand new. I had the windows tinted last week. Mom is so glad to have her car back. Its name is Gigi. I keep it in mom's garage. Mom's 83, can't drive anymore. I take her to all her appointments and errands in Gigi. She cried with sadness when she sold it, and cried again with happiness when I brought it home. I enjoy getting mom out of the house and just taking her for a ride in her car. I'll keep the car as long as she's living. Gigi belongs home with mom.
Thanks for sharing this. ❤️
The storytelling and videography are truly touching. There is so much care that is put into each car and each episode and it really shows. ❤
64 belair " what a gem! But your friendship with NIC, THAT IS IS YOUR TRUE WEALTH, BEYOND ANY CAR.
Nick is the engine doctor.he will make it happen, get it to run the way it should.
A couple of months ago I was stopped in traffic. The car beside me going the other way was a 1964 Ford Galaxie 500. Beautifully restored. A gorgeous shade of red. Not a water spot on it. Smooth, silent 390. I motioned for the guy to roll down his window. He did. I said, " I love your car". "I've never seen one better". "That's an awesome ride man". Traffic started to move. I haven't seen that car again. George, I like your 64 Bel Air. It's a dandy. And it's great in that shade of yellow. I remember the days when those cars were everywhere. Great cars for drive-in movies. Mostly all gone now. The cars, and the drive-ins. Different culture. Different world. And a better one if you ask me.
FANTASTIC EPISODE!!! Great to see YOU on camera, George.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Had exactly the same thought about it! Nice to finally "meet" you, George!
An excellent video. I'm so pleased that Nick is turning his attention to George's car with all the good work George does bringing Nick's garage to us through RUclips. Can we see more "archive" film of Nick at work in years gone by please?
Please tell me he’s gonna run it on the dyno!!! ?? 😎
@@Fleetwoodjohn ...We sure are.
I'm glad to hear you are going to rebuild the straight six rather than put a V8 in it. I have a much greater appreciation for classic cars that have been kept original and not customized and modified to extremes. That old girl is in amazing condition and I'm looking forward to seeing her with her original engine all refreshed and looking new.
Neat car. I had two '65 Bel Airs with 230 sixes. One was a 2dr sedan with a three on the tree, and the other was a 4dr sedan with a powerglide. I had a lot of fun with both.
Love seeing these stock looking classic cars on the road….just like going back in time 👍🏻
Couldn't agree more!
Thank you George for sharing the history of your beloved Chevy Impala. Straight 6 or V8, old iron is the best iron. Can't wait to see it on Nick's Dyno. Take care.
Nick is th3 best
I am what is commonly known in some circles as first. Also, love the change up to a Chevy Six!
Thanks for watching.
Wow! George! How wonderful to finally meet you! Your camera work is awesome and this is a really cool episode you made. Thanks to all the guys at Nicks.
Nick has to be just about the most knowledgeable, humble, down to earth, genuine, and kind person on RUclips. I can't imagine him judging a car as being below his standards just because it is a 4 door with a 6 cylinder and a 3 on the tree. He seems to have a genuine love for old cars of all types and goes above and beyond to ensure that a car leaves his shop in perfect orderin every way possible.
A lovely walk down memory lane,to see a younger Nick and to see you,the man behind the voice, cars are so much more than the sum of their parts, thank you for an insight into your past.
This brought tears to my eyes just thinking about George and how excited he must be to finally be getting his dream realized. I can't wait to see the first drive in his newly rebuilt Bel-Air!
I love this. You can bet I'll be watching every minute of these videos rebuilding George's Bel Aire.
Thanks for watching.
Awesome story! Cool 64! My Dad had a 64 Biscayne and I have great memories of it, all the trips to my grandparents and family event's. Old cars help relieve your memories, great you have been able to keep it!👍
Very cool!
You do a super job George for Nick's channel can't wait to hear it run when put back together God bless 🙏
Thanks Tony.
George,
I've come to REALLY enjoy the "Friday night Lives". For that hour, I'm not just instantly transported to a garage somewhere...no, I'm visiting my buddies that understand how much of a "gear-head" I am...especially the old stuff.
THIS short vid is what's been missing George...a video that shows us HOW you met and came to know Nick.
It would be really cool to see the same type of vids on the rest of you guys.
You're a heck of a camera/editor/producer/team-member George. I'm always eagerly awaiting the next video...your 6 cyl. is no different.
Great job Dude!
My first rebuild was with my dad under an oak tree around 1967 on a 61 chevy 6 cylinder, brought back memories, thanks.
Thanks for sharing the memory.
Awesome project! Hopefully, Nick can add some pep with a 2bbl carb and some other internal upgrades 👍
No doubt, the compression will be upped a little.
George great story about your 64 Bel Air! thanks for telling us all about it. Nick and all who are there working on the cars are all great guys, you are in good company for sure. cant wait to see the engine all freshened up and back in your awesome ride. That’s awesome!!! Keep us in the loop!!!
Will do!!
George is always on point with those excellent camera angles and drone shots !!
That is a great car, George. I want to thank you for the skill and care you put into the camera work and editing the videos from Nick's Garage. I have never seen better. Your narration is top notch as well. Your script, voice, cadence, and diction are perfect. When the rebuilt heart is installed in your Chevy you deserve the many miles of driving pleasure it will give you. Nick, thank you for the jeweler-quality work you do on every project. We viewers appreciate being able to watch what you do presented so well. Thank You!
Loved the video! Awesome seeing Nick from earlier days. Very heartwarming tribute to everyone at Nick’s Garage! Can’t wait to see the engine on the dyno!
Very happy for you, George. It will run like a top!
Yes it will!
George what a beautiful video, it made me happy to see and hear your story about the car, the family and the good times had with it and the good times to come. I cant wait to see your smile after Nick and crew rebuild the engine and get everything running better then new. I’ll be waiting to hear Nick say “Here we Go” as he starts up your rebuilt engine on the Dyno, it will be cool to see the numbers it puts out. Keep up the great camera work and narration.

All old cars are priceless to their owners. I'm very happy we get to follow along the Bel Air's rebirth.
Couldn't agree more!
Fantastic video, great seeing a younger Nick. Great back story on the Bel Air. Can't wait to see that in line six on the dyno.
Thanks for being here.
How the heck did I miss this episode?!? Such a great piece of cinematography..
Awesome video George. Nick is a fantastic guy. The old 64 chevy is beautiful.
Thanks for watching, Dean.
Can't wait to see what magic Nick will work on it. It's no hot rod, but I'm sure more than the stock 140 HP can be had.
Forever a friend.
❤️
Dana "60" Glass. George, you're the best. You deserve to have the '64 run like new again. Take her to the Cruise Ins next spring.
Thank you George for the awesome videos!! The Chevy getting Nicks magic finally is soooo cooool!!! 😎👍
Thanks Simon. It's really cool that folks seem to like the old cruiser.
No one has ever been more deserving!!!! Congrats George!!!
12 15 pm Friday .
George We thankyou for this shorts video today .
Your Belair is a really sweet ride . I'm a 6 banger guy too, well as an avid V8 enthusiast . I can say most viewers really appreciate you and are pleased to see the man behind the mic and camera . You've got that announcers voice that's kind and calming with so much integrity . You speak and the viewers all listen
Your 230 is gonna be very nicely done .
Scott in soca
Thanks Scott. That is very kind.
Can’t wait for this George, wishing you the very best on your build!
Thanks a lot!
In 1975 when I was 12 years old I worked at Town & Country Gulf in Tallahassee Fl. running the auto car wash. It was my 1st job and the service car they loaned out to customers when working on their cars was a 1964 Chevy Impala 4 door like your car. It had a 283 v8. When I turned 15 I bought it from them for $250 and was my very 1st car. This brings back so many memory's !
Nicks going to bring that 230 Chevy engine back to life George! Thanks for sharing this story about your car and all who it has been a part of. Lots a great memories with new ones to come! 👍
That is going to be one sweet ride George after Nick & the 'A' team work their magic. Cant wait to see the smile on your dial when Nick & the 'A' team hand it back to you. Thanks guy's till next time.
George you should be proud to own that old Chevy. Thanks for your videos.
Thanks 👍.
A classic is a classic, period.I love this car and would be honored just for a ride in it, let alone to own this old Chevy. I wouldn't change a thing
George, I have been watching Nick's Garage for years now. I have to say this is my favorite video yet. Simply...... thanks for all you do. Thank everyone at Nick's Garage. God Bless You George.........Jeff Thompson Chicago Illinois
Glad you enjoyed it!
Those guys are the best, love the old footage of Nick. Car is in amazing shape, nice find.
My Uncle had a 1964 Impala when I was growing up. I love that car.
My first car was a in-line six cylinder 66 mustang. I repainted the car from a dull yellow to a cannery yellow on the bottom with a white top. Turned out really good. This 64 Belair brought back memories
We seen George before with the Willie's jeep/ it was nice for the owner of the jeep to invite George in for the ride ..
Yes. Paul is a very kind man.
@@NicksGarage very good hearted person..
George that old Chevy is priceless ....keep up the excellent work 😊
Can’t wait to se it on the dyno love that show brings back old memories
All good ones, we hope.
Of course i was fifteen in 1975 working at a gas station and believe me we add a lots of costumers with muscle car and when we add a chance well i dont think i have to tell you more lots of burnout with costumers car lolll
One good turn deserves another At Nick's Garage they treat you like a brother Congratulations George
Thanks Roberto.
George: Stay strong. Stay stock. Reason it started after sitting in parking garage and still running after 60 years is because it’s factory. Don’t let them put aftermarket parts including carb, choke exhaust manifolds. Leave it be and you’ll drive it for as long as you want. Enjoyed your video. Cheers
a place i worked decided to rebuild the two ninety two in their two ton wreaker . Shop had a old school teck , and a sixties hotrodder . They did everything they could to improve it while remaining " stock " . Balancing , polishing , porting , everything they could . Iit was interesting and that was sure a sweet running old six when we were finished . I recall some of it was non stock . Had upgraded valve springs , oil pump and water pump . Thats forty years back so memory's a bit faded
Love to see the rebuild
We will be keeping you up to date!
Hi George, What an awesome video about your 64 Chevy, and also a great choice of color for your sweet ride. I loved hearing the history of your car and seeing all of the old pictures of your car car, and the early video from Nick's Garage at the old location. I'm anxious to see the teardown, and rebuild of your 230 cu in 6 cylinder engine, and what number Nick will get when he puts it on the Dyno. Nobody deserves this more than you George. You will have a beautiful car when Nick is finished. Looking forward to the rest of your build!
Thank you, sir. That is very meaningful, coming from you. I lost track of how many times it was said how deserving you are of your car, during the rebuild. Looks like we share good taste in paint.
My dad had a 65 biscayne I can still hear that old 6 cyl. Warming up...
Nothing like the olden days very cool car George 😊
Hi George
Nice to see the old girl get a makeover. She is a pretty one!!!
Now that Nick and the boys have worked their magic enjoy her to the max.
Cheers
Airplane Gerry
Very cool, George! American classic cars touch us with stories and memories, Teenage boys that wrenched together on their cars, some muscle, some not. Were still friends 45 years later, living in different cities, watching Nick's Garage and sharing occasional memory or even a new story now and again, Carry on, George. Carry on, Nick.
Awesome video George, and what a beautiful old Chevy with great memories! Nick is a great guy and obviously treasures your friendship. It should be no surprise that he did this, you are such an asset to him.
great story , nice to see a pic of Nick and the old garage back in the day , Thanks George
Glad you enjoyed it
What a wonderful story & cool old car. Spent many an hour in those ole 64 Belair's back in the day.
Actually you are doing a great work as well, George. Together with all the wonderful and truly genuine people at Nick’s garage you’re a winning team and there is nothing that can beat watching your videos 🙏🏻.
Myself is waiting for the day the team will restore and tune up the Chrysler Slant six. That will be the day!
Best regards, Nils
My parents had a ‘64 just like this only it was an Impala with a 283. It was a great car. In 1972 we had a massive flood in our area where our home was under 5 feet of water on the first floor. Unfortunately the Impala got flooded completely. Dad didn’t have time to fix her as he was busy rebuilding our home. I was only 9 at the time but I remember that car well. We got a cool ‘69 Dodge Monaco 383 to replace the Chevy. That Dodge would light up the tires pretty good as Dad would humor me once in a while and break em loose.
Great video and story George. I figured you had to be in the broadcasting business based on the quality work you do for Nick. That car is going to purr nicely once Nick gets finished with it. Can't wait to see the engine on the Dyno. You've got a keeper there. Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was a very touching story George. Great to see those old clips.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Nice car George. The memories of Nick and your family this automobile is a keeper. Thank you for sharing your talents. Your the best. Cheers.
Thanks 👍
Can’t wait to watch Nick spring new life into your family treasure👍. A Chevy refresh! Great car!
This warms my heart! You're ALL the best!
Lovely car George. Enjoy the drives you will have. Thanks for the videos
Thank you.
A lovely and awesome video! It’s nice to have a bunch of good friends to help get you car up to working order! Thanks for sharing! Thank you all, Nick, the A-Team, and George! I actually geared up a bit watching the video!
nice to see the man behind the camera!
Thanks Nick.
yes it is.
It's a beautiful car George, a real classic and good to see it's in great hands with you and Nick
There aren't many people like Nick around.
Just a passing thought. Unlike some of the older Mopars (1950s), the 1958-1964 Chevrolet manual transmission column shifters do not have a grease fitting to lubricate the shifter. In the past, I have followed the factory shop manual to disassemble these shifters to inspect the inner workings and apply some lubricant. I found a N.O.S. shifter tube for my ‘64 Biscayne wagon just in case I need it. If the column shifter has never been serviced internally, this is an opportune time to inspect it. Some people may say if it’s working now, leave well enough alone. But people grow used to less than ideal shifting over time. With some maintenance and adjustments, the shifting can be vastly improved.
Awesome video George. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward seeing the Bel Air's progress.
Thanks Mike! 👍
Love love love this! Those of us that are of a certain age remember well these big boxy GM cars of the 60s, with fond memories. My uncle had a 1964 Olds Dynamic 88 with a 330 cu in V8 and Hydra matic auto trans, took many trips in that car....
A few years back there was a guy in a nearby town who owned what I called the Mystery Chevrolet. It was a 1963 Impala sedan with a 1964 front clip. The fenders fit perfect and unless you knew your GM products by year, you'd never know what was odd about this one! Why the owner did this, we will never know. One day my son (about 22 years old then) was admiring the car. I told him there is something REALLY bizarre about this Chevrolet. Of course he had no idea. When I explained it to him he couldn't believe it!
Best of luck with the engine rebuild may the Bel Air put many miles under its tires.
Reminds me of the Neil Young song, Long May You Run.....
George you lucky guy to have a friend like Nick
And very thankful for it.
I had a 63' in great shape , I gave it to my son. He is frame off restoring it. I had a 375 HP 350 cu in put into it when the old 283 gave up the ghost.
Awesome. Sounds like a fantastic father and son project.
These cars look almost alike
He is a master, and has a full garage , like NICK. No Dyno but lifts and such- he is 40@@NicksGarage
Some people say cars are just plastic, rubber and steel. No they are time machine's , every time you drive in them, you bring back memories, for you George, its taking your Mom and Dad to Sunday brunch. A new chapter is beginning.
Congratulations
Thanks!
George, you're also part of that best. ✌
Much appreciated.
Great video George , the old shop was a trip and seeing Nick 20 years ago , wow . Can't believe it has been 20 years since the old shop closed down . . Enjoyed the video
George, sorry u meant to speak up during the live stream, but unfortunately, life happens. Literally! I was watching the episode while my 1st grandson was being born! You have a beautiful car sir! I can't express how it makes me feel to see her getting the love she deserves! You do a great thing here with the show, and you're very much appreciated!! It's just magic! I know how it affected my dad with his 66 impala, and I'm sure it's going to be the same with you! Congratulations!! And Nick, even though I'm a Mopar man, I love seeing you work on all makes as long as your hearts in it! Thank you all! Every one of you @ Indy auto! Like, subscribe and share! 😉 thanks for reading
Congratulations, grandpa!
@@NicksGarage thank you! God bless guys!
Nice story.
What a great guy and a great shop.
you deserve it, George! Love the car and the 230. That was in my first car. Looking forward to the rebuild
Great to see your car get a rebuild and that you have owned it for so long. Would be a nice surprise if Nick finds a little unused 283 or 350 chev and rebuilds that instead and drops her in for you George. You will be doing burnouts out the front with the other guys 😂
Thanks George for sharing! My parents had a 62 with a six, great car! You are a Lucky Man!!
Right on! Don't I know it.
Hey! That's me Nick is talking to in the clip with Kirk's freshly installed 351 Cleveland :) That's gotta be 2008-2009?
That fresh 6 gonna purr, George!
Nice to have Nick as a friend, I'm trying to find someone in Ontario to professionally rebuild the aging om617 in my 85 Mercedes wagon.
Nice car George....good to see it getting some attention.....good content.
Old days car! Those were everyday cars for most back 60’s - 70’s
