If the Pro was 100% able to run PS3 games - then I'd be interested. If it's just a PS5 but at slightly better fidelity, then I'd just wait for the PS6.

@@neutral_profile Normal PS5 and Xbox series X might run GTA 6 at 1080p 60 fps too and not everyone owns 4K tv/monitor everyone has either 2K or 1080p monitors or tv

Um because they’re aren’t any more heavy hitter games releasing on PS4 lol none of the upcoming titles besides COD and maybe Madden and 2k are releasing on last gen. metal gear solid delta, Silent hill aren’t coming On PS4 and neither are the exclusives like Wolverine and others aren’t coming on PS4 lol

Why WASTE storage space on previous generation games IF your console is still functional, vs ALL THE NEW CONTENT you could be playing this very day?? Honestly man, for SEVERAL generations, Backcompat has been a DEAD/BROKEN aspect of gaming that just isn't necessary anymore. They don't all FULLY emulate their predecessors capabilities, the big 3 doesn't want to keep older servers running forever...... What's even the *POINT* ANYMORE?! The big 3 are consistently beating a dead horse to this very day.

You clearly have no clue what CPU limitations mean. PS5 full potential not being maxed, has to do with GPU aka graphics, not performance. A Pro is needed for Unreal Engine 5 games. Don't like it don't buy it

PS4 Pro was necessary because 4K screens getting more widespread in 2016. PS5 Pro is completely unnecessary

Its been a very lack luster run for the ps5 so far...nothing notable . there are no games...all just indy games which is cool but nothing like the previous generations..

There's no point of a mid gen refresh when half of the population are still playing on PS4 and PS4 Pro
Why release the PS5 Pro when there is still roughly 40% of the player base that is still on the PS4.
Outside of that, what use does anyone have for it right now? We have yet to have a game be released that is truly next-gen through and through. Full on metahuman and 100% nanopixel. Games that would START to make the PS5 sweat a little bit.
Absolutely zero reason to release a new console when the current one is still far more advanced than the games being released.
Dragon's Dogma 2? Baldur's Gate 3? Hell even Immortals of Aveum runs at like below 720p

@@Mr.Hyper1222 Spider-Man 2 was not even close to a true next gen game. Tapping in to Ray tracing and some upgraded lighting features doesn’t make it a next gen game. Elder Scrolls 6 will be a true next gen game and Spider-Man 2’s graphics won’t even be able to hold a candle to it.
@@mosdefinitelynot that wasn’t the PS5’s fault. That was purely poor optimization of the game. Have you ever once played any of these games and even heard any of the internal fan fans kick on? The only time I’ve ever heard mine kick on briefly is when a game locked up on me and then crashed. A game running poorly is more often times than not the game itself causing the issues and not that the hardware is struggling to run it.
Even when true next gen start releasing the current PS5 will be able to handle them without any issues. If a game is running at 720p it’s because the game was designed poorly and poorly optimized. The PS5 is strong enough and could support and run Cyberpunk 2077 in 8k. Where you would actually START making the console cry a bit would be running Cyberpunk in 8k, driving the fastest car, right through the middle of downtown at a high rate of speed.

why make a new model , when you have no games for it ... when consoles dropped exclusivity they lost the market , same with no having the whole game on the Physical Disc ... then having a console is just pointless when you can for the same price buy a Cheap Open System that can play all ...

think the problem is looking at a PS4 slim as the same kind of “mid-gen refresh” as a PS4 Pro.. most of those things you call mid-gen refreshes are just simple hardware changes…
Why is this Generation still called next gen?
We don’t need one, especially if they’re going to use the same cpu. They should offer an upgraded “pro” iteration along side the PS6 to give consumers a choice (PS6/PS6Pro).
Assuming the PS5 Pro is real and makes a difference in gaming, the graphical leap to the PS6 will be the smallest ever.
yup ive never got a console pro in my life , always had the original models and stuck with them until the next console and has never been a problem so im not so bothered with a ps5 pro

They already said 4 quarter which would be between September-December 2024. I’m 100% sure it’s releasing in September or October.

Most games run well under 4k and force gamers to choose between framerate or resolution. Ill take the pro.

@@AllThingsInfamous1we can play our favorite franchise Gears of War in booster FPS which has endless amount of replay value, and you can use the dev kit to turn it into a emulator fairly easy.
They may have just maxed out the specs. They’re at the top of the sigmoid curve when it comes to showing your average consumer what the difference between a ps5 and a ps5 pro are. Even Apple’s annual showcases are increasingly about educating consumers of what’s under the hood and what the technobabble means. This tech has slowed to a crawl and it’s all incremental now compared to past generations where you could beef up a model and people would notice or hunger for it.

A pro made sense back in the days, now the base models are packing a lot so what will the pro have more space ray tracing like all that’s ain’t work the high price they are going to charge the best they can do now is make a base model and then a slim version with a few upgrades
