I have used cashmere on 3 different jobs over the last 3 years. I would have to say it spreads wonderfully and is silky smooth. I was told before trying it that it touched up perfectly so I tested that out and it did. Blended right into the previously painted wall that I originally painted with Cashmere. Unfortunately it had the worst coverag/hide of any paint that I have used in the last 10 years. I had to put a minimum of 3 coats on to cover and hide using 3 different colors on 3 different jobs. It was because of that that I decided to never use it again.
I've been sitting for an hour looking at the Sherwin Williams options to repaint out walls. Your video answered well all my questions, and now I'll go with the SW low luster/Eggshell.
It touches up great. If you rolled a wall, you have to touch up using a roller to avoid flashing. If you touch up a spot on a rolled wall with a brush , it comes out shiner because the brush doesn't produce stippling.
Scuff X is a good paint but it doesn't cover as well. It also did not hold up to using light industrial cleaners such as simple green, krud Kutter and other similar cleaners. It does repeal scuff marks better than Cashmere.
@@Davidklappenberger thanks Dave for your info. I use scuff x now in a hospital and it seems to hold up to a lot of footprints. Simple water will wash them right off the walls. Sherwin-Williams rent dropped off a gallon of cashmere for me to try that's why I was asking.
@@DavidklappenbergerSo from your experience, Scuff-X resists scuffs more, but Cashmere is a more durable product? I’m a mostly a BM painter, and recently switched from Regal to Scuff-X as the premium product I offer. But I’m always doing research to offer my clients the best. Your input and recommendations are really appreciated, I love your content as well.
Hi, As far as coverage and how the finished job looks and ease of working with the paint, how does Cashmere compare with Emerald? Would Emerald be worth the extra cost? Thanks!
This is for interior walls. Maybe I'm wrong but I thought emerald was a urethane that's better for trim and wood. For that purpose yes emerald is worth it.
There is Emerald for walls and then the Emerald Urethane Trim enamel for trim, doors, cabinets and furniture. There is also an Emerald Designer series for walls.
Omg ! You primed it with paint ! Lol The test is only valid if you just two coated like everything else ! Do some research , the “ prime and paint in one “ gimmick technically states you can paint over itself ! I know that sounds stupid , that’s why it’s a gimmick ! It’s like a car dealer selling a car by saying you get free seatbelts . I only had to use cashmere once to know it was shit . Don’t believe me , go buy it … There is no reason for it to exist , SW already has better paints that achieve the same thing at the same price . Useless paint

I’ve used paintable caulk with this paint cover that ?
I always spot prime, no matter what paint Iam using 👍
Its a good reassurance forsure!
How would you say cashmere stacks up to Benjamin Moore scuff x?

This would be for flat paint.

There’s no such thing as paint and primer in one. Even the Sherwin rep says that. It’s just marketing to keep up with Home Depot
I used to work there, it's true it's all bull with paint and primer
