What is the best paint brand can be difficult when we have over 975 paint manufacturers making many paints.
However, I have tested and used hundreds of brands and have evaluated many of them on my RUclips Channel.
If you ask a dozen painters, “what is the best brand of paint” you will likely get about 8-10 different answers. Sometimes, it is just a personal preference; other times, there is data to back it up.
Any of the top brands listed below are excellent paints and, if applied correctly, will last for many years.

The Best Interior Paint for Ceilings?
There are four critical factors when choosing the best ceiling paint.
Coverage is definitely at the top of the list. Painting ceilings is no fun, and applying an extra coat is a pain in the neck and your wallet and takes spare time.
Secondly, when choosing the best paint for your ceiling, you will want a true flat paint. Even the slightest sheen can show roller marks and ceiling imperfections.
Thirdly, you want the paint to have little or no splatter. It would be best to cover the furniture regardless, but you don’t need the color spitting in your eye.
Finally, cost obviously will play into the equation of what to buy.
1st place - Ben Moore Ceiling Paint
2nd Place - PPG Speedhide Flat
3rd Place - Promar 200 Ceiling paint.
Ben Moore Ceiling paint has the best coverage, however it was the most expensive.
They were all equally as flat and had the same amount of splatter.

Keep in mind that all of these paint brands are excellent. They are all premium-grade paints, and the prices vary between $60.00 Behr Dynasty and Emerald $85.00. Which paint brands are the best if the price is not an issue? After testing each paint the same way, I found slight differences between the groups.
All of the brands of paint listed above had excellent washability and scuff resistance. Just a few years ago, flat and matte finishes had limited washability. Today, most premium flat and matte paints have similar washability to eggshell paints.

Who Has The Best Wall Paint?
If coverage and price are the most important, then Dynasty is your best choice.
For overall smoothness of finish and durability, and the price was your highest priority, I’d choose UltraLast.
If you are considering buying Emerald or Aura flat or matte finish, you won’t be disappointed except for the price.
In short, these are all excellent brands of paint.

I had very good experiences with Behr in all of its varieties. I like the Premium Plus as budget paint and the Marquee for quicker, time consuming jobs, the most.
How about a Ben Moore semigloss trim paint review... Aura, Scuff X, Advance, and just for fun satin impervo oil.
Hi Clinton, I have done a review of all those paints except Satin Impervo oil which is excellent paint.
I recently painted my kitchen and family room area with Sherwin-Williams Duration Shoji White and didn’t care for it. I wouldn’t use it again. I’d read so many comments about how people like it - but I’m going back to Behr Marquee next time. And not to take away from this video but there is a guy with a channel here on RUclips named Project Farm that did a good side by side comparison with many different paints. He also concluded that Emerald was the best.
I was always wondering what the better paints are. I am not a painter or handyman or anything that is even a stretch of that but sometimes I paint a room in my house. I just want the best paint that covers the best and never seems to fade or at least will take a lot longer to fade than some cheap paint. I know a lot of times it is you get what you pay for. It would also be one that if used outside I should not be afraid to get near it with a pressure washer (within reason of course). I am the sort of person who would like to forget about ever having to maintain it for 5 to 10 years or longer. I only want to be reminded it is there when I see how good it still looks years from the date it was applied. I am sure a lot of other people feel the same way. They just want to get it on and not have to worry about it.
Hey man, love your videos! I think with more marketing you could make a killing in ad revenue with these product comparison videos. No one tests paint quality the way you do. Question...
What would you say is better or on parr with Benjamin Moore " Ben" at around the same price of $45?

I dont know if its just me but the i feel like sherwin have a rough touch, almost like a primer (for duration and super paint at least) . Im groing scepticall of them lol
So far i like Dulux for price and product(maybe some lack coverage) and benjamin more (put they are more expensive if im not wrong)
As a painter I hated the emerald. Just did job on it and wasn’t impressed. The behr scuff defense was good and behr Marquee in the one coat color was amazing. I actually think the duration is better than the Emerald imo. Haven’t tried Ben brand yet been wanting to try for awhile now.
I sell Behr paints at Home Depot and have used them all in my home. I also spent 4 decades as a painting contractor using mostly Ben Moore. I personally feel that the biggest bang for the buck in the Behr paints is the Ultra line. It is a really good paint at a moderate price. If getting by with one coat is your goal, the Marquee is worth the money.I am not sure that Dynasty is worth the extra money. Both Marquee and Dynasty share the one coat claim and they both share the same tint formula. The "one coat" is only guaranteed using the one coat palette of colors. You might notice that there are no bright, clear colors in this palette. They are all somewhat muted colors. I would point out that the colors that are guaranteed one coat in Marquee and Dynasty also cover extremely well in Ultra, if not guaranteed.
Why is Ultra so good? It is the only line of the Behr paints that utilizes "Nano" technology. A paint film looks solid to the eye, but to some degree there are voids in the film, especially among the lower sheen paints. Ultra introduces nano particles of zinc into the paint, which results in a very dense coating that reduces moisture penetration, increases adhesion and helps prevent mildew. Zinc is what we here in the Pacific North-West throw on or roofs to keep the moss at bay, zinc being toxic to plant life.
How big is a nano? I love this: if the Earth is your reference point, a nano is a dime!!! The nano particles in Behr paint are on the magnitude of 7 nanos. This is so small, that it does not effect the tint formulas , as the light waves don't even "see" the tiny particles.
I find it interesting that Behr removed the term "Nano" from the Ultra label. I feel this was a marketing move. How can you up sell the customer to the more expensive paint lines that does not share nano this technology? I actually called the Behr labs to confirm that the Ultra formula had not been altered.
I do caution customers that any paint does require a well sealed substrate to perform well. Ironically, a color might actually cover better over a poorly sealed wall because it will suck in so much paint, but when dry, it will be all streaky. the second coat usually cures this. Here again, at the point that you will need a second coat, opt for the lower priced Ultra over the Marquee or Dynasty!

I have painted several houses in their Spartashield and Evershield. The Evershield sprayed awesome and has what I believe to be good for high sun states.
Heard too many stories about behr paints not matching over different gallons. For that reason alone, I wont even consider them for anything "colored"
I never had a problem with that using Behr, but then again, you should always mix all gallons together to ensure a better color consistency.
Which is what all pros do anyway, no matter the brand.

Emerald is 72 a gallon roughly unless you’re thinking of emerald designer or emerald exterior
They have sales a lot but that’s still 55 I believe.
Not a fan of the Behr Dynasty...way too thick and gloopy, and it spattered like crazy in the tray and on the rollback - it was like trying to paint with wood glue.
I'm a fan of the Emerald, excellent depth of color, and it has a very manageable viscosity.
I found I got more coverage on average out of one gallon of Emerald than I did with other brands, so while you pay a premium for it up front, you save money in the long run by using less paint overall.
