biggest reason I always suggest someone build a kit is so they know how yo repair their car if it breaks. Plus the sense of accomplishment at seeing what you just built running around the track, neighborhood, local bashing area.
I agree. I'm a cyclist, and I built my own bicycles. The sense of accomplishment and proudness while riding them is fantastic!
How do u build a kit
@@zazyzz7600 a kit comes as parts. You use various tools to build the kit using the instructions that are provided with it. Building a kit is very informative and satisfying seeing as you built it and not someone else.
Building RC kits is my favorite part of the hobby!
Astrid's Action RC I agree, my biggest problem is forcing myself to run them after they look so good when they're done!
Will Master same problem for me. They look so good I can’t stand to run them haha
@@willmaster5640 they will never be that clean again!
Do u have any youtube channel to teach rc cars making from scratch ,am much interested but i dont find any proper videos to learn basic am an multimedia person i dont have knowledge in rc , but i love to learn . Thank you
@@ManojKumar-ve4bq same
You learn so much and it's part of the whole RC experience. If you don't like to wrench, you won't get the most out of this hobby.
Awesome just getting into this great hobby and will get a kit very soon
Totally awesome my hubby was just telling me how he wanted to get into RCs as a hobby but ssid he wanted to learn from step 1 to learn to appreciate it more.
He will have way more fun building and then running them also!
That’s cool! This channel and rcsparks are great channels to watch and learn from, both very honest and know the hobby really well!
I just built this kit with my son! It’s his was his fist kit build! I’ve been in the hobby for over 30yrs and I miss building kits. You out lined all the perfect reasons for building a kit, and it’s why I pretty much disassemble and rebuild my RTRs. So you can learn the car, and the most important reasons for me are that it gives me opportunities to enjoy my hobby and spend time with my son! It teaches him how to build, how things work, and patience! He enjoys building nearly as much as driving them. He’s much more “invested” in this truck because he spent time building it, he takes better care of it as a result. There’s no downside to building your own RBC cars. It’s a shame that they don’t make many kits anymore.
My dad doesn’t own rc cars and I really wanna assemble a B6.2 but I’m unsure of how to do it
@@theun-knownmusician5468 just follow the instructions, they will tell you everything you need to know!
@@DHC8100 Thank you, I will purchase one at some point :)
I totally agree. If you build the kit it will be easier to maintain and even easier to upgrade the parts if you choose to do so. I own over 30 kits I built all but one. The kit I did not build was a Traxxas slash. However I did still modify the truck with a brushless motor and metal shocks from Proline. I actually enjoy the whole building process even more than driving my truck, or car. Think about that .
That was one of the most descriptive, but to the point, explanation videos I’ve seen in a long time for just about anything. Thanks so much for the instructions!
Yep, building kits is probably the best part of RC. It gives you a real feel for your car when you know exactly how it is all put together. Great Video to be a part of your Awesome series!!!! Thank you for making awesome content for everyone in RC!!!
I have always wished more manufacturers offered kit versions of their RTRs.
Always a good topic to talk about - Building a kit not only gives you some mechanical knowledge, but also gives you a better understanding of what needs to be taken apart when it comes time to tune, maintain or repair the vehicle.
Honestly I spend more time building kits and rebuilding rough shape finds off eBay then I do running them. I then turn around and sell them on eBay for someone to enjoy running it. I love to tinker and build. It’s a lot of the fun for me! This was a great video do more kit builds and follow alongs they are great
Do you know any good nitro building kits?
Thumbs up to building kits. Great that you thought of this for those that are considering going with an RTR or a kit. I started with an initial RTR; but, went over to kits since. Enjoy the build and the customization possibilities.
Building is more than half the fun!! It saddens me that so few manufacturers even offer kits anymore
Tamiya still builds Unassembled kits, I start building RC kits from Tamiya
I learned so much from building a kit, I recently got into R/C and bought me and my daughter a few Traxxas RTR trucks, couple days ago I got the stampede kit also, had so much fun building it and learned so much about the trucks....everyone should do at least one kit, I will be doing more kits for sure...great channel👍
What an excellent track! Man I wish we had something like that around here!
The only danger of building a kit is the addiction to the build! Then you end up like me with over 20 models sitting around your hobby room and you’re continuously looking for your next great build!
rc Ohio i believe its a bmx track
It is truly awesome to drive something you just build! ✌🏼😎👍🏼
Great video. This hobby is insane. I got nosy with the electronics and got a brushless motor/ESC/BEC to work with a micro controller doing something like a throttle tester. To move forward is another story (a lot of expensive parts).
What a great video!!! Thank you for taking the time and going over why each step is so important. I'm new the the hobby and I've been really watching this channel to learn more about it. Keep doing what you do. I'm looking forward to your next video!
I sure had fun building my mt410
I’ve got a Tamiya that was gifted to me when I was a kid. Might take a look at it and attempt to build it.
You should definitely build it. Tamiya rc kits are high quality and come with excellent instructions.
It is allot of fun. Just for fun I'm building a redcat be6s from bare frame one part at a time from eBay and other places but just something fun to do.
I do that. I buy a used Rc Mabey not in the greatest shape and then I collect and rebuild it or build from a frame up like you did. It’s fun. Gets me threw the winter months too 🇨🇦☃️
I did that with an scx10, it’s my “salvage title truck”, parts from probably 5-6 scx10’s collected over a couple years because I couldn’t really afford a good one and the chassis rails were from one that had been run over by a 1:1 truck, it was fun to build!
@@mikes062 a 1:1 truck 😂😂😂
Building is best part.
Building is half the fun! I always prefer the kits!
“You should build an RC Kit because I sell them”! I’m just kidding I like your channel a lot
I built my first kit for a school club last year, it was a ton of fun and I’m hoping to get my first car for my self soon
You make it look easy.
I prefer kits than rtr. For one it's way more fun to build them. If I get a rtr I tend to tear them down to get to know it
I enjoyed building my Lunchbox over 10 years ago. It was a lot of fun and rewarding! I can do without painting, though. I will gladly build, but I would rather get a painted body.
Definitely miss the days of building kits on your own. I wish I could get a X-Maxx in unassembled form.
That would take an eternity to build
@@normalretard9277 why
If you don't know how the car is built and you're not into wrenching on your car then they become disposable.
To me, the building is the core of the hobby. It's too bad that so many in the hobby don't want to build their cars.
I love the feeling of taking a box of parts and putting it all together into a drivable machine. I like building kits more than driving TBH.
Yea Greg!I completely agree with you on this
Dan Brando Thanks! We need to keep more people in this hobby. Building kits helps with success.
@@rcdriver 💯 ,can't agree more. Learning the vehicles mechanically in a fun way makes for a better sense of I can fix this instead of sell this move on to something new
I was into Legos growing up. In 7th grade I into Slot cars, then built a stadium blitzer, moved to a 10T
Building unassembled RC kit is not just only fun, it is learning & discovering how it move, you know where the problem will takes place once get haywired, you can also chose what RC system , ESC, etc. To be installed as you like, it turn RC enthusiast to a RC Hobbyist/Techie:.
building to me is just as much fun as driving just got done building the trxsport and i am the stanpede now
Wow great job on the kit Greg 👍🏼
✌🏼😎👍🏼
My first kit was a tamiya king hauler
curently building my 3rd xray xb8
10:50 pro tip put paper between them and when there is clean tooth line its good
Great video Greg!!
I wonder? Finally ready to pit together a TRX4 Sport kit of my own.
Builder kits can be another obsession. Lol
Hi, many thanks for making this video, really appreciated.
Building Unassembled RC kits also makes you proud, it takes time, but it's worthy
Bought this kit and changed a few parts while building it. Tires I put duratraxx six pack tires, servo and esc from a TRX4 so I can put a 3s lipo on the titan 12 😂. And the radio and reciever from a bandit vxl tho I moght change the reciever later on to use it qith my dx5R
is it any cheaper for someone first starting to go with a kit vs. A RTR? As in buying the kit, tools, lubes, everything needed to be able to actually drive it once its built
Such a great video!
Woah! Mr. Vogel haven't seen you for awhile... Getting a little grey there.. Glad to see you still working the hobby. Always enjoyed your articles...
You should do a build up of one of the Kyosho re-releases, they all look awesome
Glowingtomato We just reviewed the Ultima, the build was pretty awesome. Check it out in our video list.
@@rcdriver wow a week ago, I totally missed it
Kyosho Optima, beautiful build
Body looks really nice man !
Matteo Hoefle Thanks! Done in under 30 minutes 😀
@@rcdriver it would tanke me hours....
Love the wheels and tyres you used, and do you have the part numbers for the wheels and tyres.
Those bearings look like the same or similar ones used for skateboards. If the are they can be cleaned and lubed pretty easily.
Thank you for the motivation buddy I advise that you have a buddy or a hobby shop nearby so when you run into problems you can get them fixed for myself I'm having a problem I built a kit but the wheels are wobbly I cannot figure out why no matter what I do. Now I'm stuck with a problem I don't know how to fix. And it's costing me money.
Me and my son have 20 rc,s and 15 were kits,i do not know why but i feel more attached to the ones we built ourselves over the rtr,s,maybe the bonding time we shared building the kits.i just dread the building of the shocks i just hate it,lol
I enjoyed doing shocks. I hate the rod end and linkages for some reason more haha
Okay so I knew I should had done it that way. But I have a question about doing upgrades on changing out servo's, motors, ESC, do you have to upgrade the power supply to power all of the upgrades or is the power supply doesn't need to be upgraded with everything else?
You forget one thing, alot of swearing building a rc
LOL Yea there are some tedious screws on my e revo 2.0 and when I bitch and moan my dad, being 100% serious, tells me that’s part of the fun 😂
Nice video, thanks.
I want to build a Arrma limitless.
I just got myself a tamiya ta07 pro
I have built from owner Manual for kits that aren't kits but rtr
Really want to do that but barely anything ships to me and if it does its upwards of 200 dollars
awesome
Great tips greg!!! 😊👍🇦🇺🍻
Saying one unassembled “car” box of Parts Vs. another box of parts is not a kit ??? ..... That's like saying a jigsaw puzzle is not an unassembled picture come on guys enjoy this hobby don’t tear it down 👍👍😍
what is a good kit to build
Where would you buy kits?
Thank you I am brand new to hobby grade RC car I got my son a "ready to run" but we don't know any of the components and that's unacceptable. We need to build a simple kit just to know what we're running.
Bruh I got the fracas slash almost the same thing but it’s gonna be similar to build
I was looking at this exact car but I live in Australia and Traxxas doesn't ship here is there any car that is very similar or a shop that sells the same one that delivers here? u want one that i can build and that can do off-road stuff.
Note to self. Go back in time and watch this before i get my first RC...
Where should i buy a kit?
Bought an x max love it , and now want to try and build a hobby grade rc , debating weather to do on road or off, any suggestions ? As I am really digging the hobby but want to build 1 from the ground up
Do rc cars have the same components as a big one?
What is the build time for a first time RC kit builder?
building an rc car now is like building a large lego set
Do they sell jato 3.3 unbuilt kits ?
i wanna learn
I would like to see a build if the 1/10 Toyota hybrid ( F103 Chassis)
What would be a good first time rc build kit? Does arrma offer any kits? Thank you.
Nice video.....kindly guide me how to get the kit
hello! whats that blue beuty on the wall that looks like a mighty FIIIINE body of a super sports car!
Can build a rc car is a great step into a career in automotive industry?
Are there shops that will build the cars for you?
I'm building a slash drag car from the ground up
I never built one, but the buggys that I really want are kits, are they hard to build ? I want to build a tamiya egress...
Hey I still haven’t pulled a trigger on which kit/brand to start with. But I’ve got a question the Internet is not answering,
can the Traxxas tracks go on any vehicle?
Are these tracks the current standard for functioning RC tracks?
Since I have not even held an Rc crawler much less put a kit together this may be an obvious answer, but please indulge me.
Yes it's fun, especially if you buy a tekno or serpent kit.
Sam Rc Yup! Both great brands to experience kit building!
Don’t forget X-Ray. They are super nice and good instructions to build. I did a xb8 that was amazing a 2009 edition
Hi I’m 15 yeas old and I’ve never done anything with RC cars before but I am a car guy and I love cars. I wanna get into RC cars and build them, can anyone tell me a good RC starter kit and around how much they cost.
How much would it cost for all components to build something like this. Doesn't have to be high end parts. Just need basic parts
Where can you buy one of those
Just completed my Traxxas kit with a timelapse video! Check it out! And also, is this bethel, CT bmx track near blue jay orchard? Looks so similar!
How many hours did this build take?
How much. Does all that cost
I want to buy one but a evo rc any recommendations?
Someone please tell me a good powerful beginner off road kit?
Some of us don't have the blessing of a workbench or even the space for a workbench and all its helpful ancillary appurtenances. Building a 'kit' in a 200 to 300 sq ft bedroom using a footstool or ottoman as a work surface is simply self-flagellation. Admittedly, there are many plusses in building a kit, BUT..............
Can you make a model car kit and build it and make it a rc car
Hey bud, what’s the best route price wise to get a buggy for indoor clay track? I’m not seeing much info
Try to figure out how an rtr comes apart???? One word....RUclips. LOL But seriously...great video. It is good to build from a kit provided you are mechanically inclined. I build and repair seriously expensive machinery all day and really enjoy people who don't insist that I HAVE to build. I had that in the RC helicopter community and it was ridiculous. My ARRMA Vorteks RTR is so well designed that it comes apart easily and the youtube community is great. Not inclined to build? Well at least learn how to do basic repairs. Get with a group and spring for a pizza while some else rebuilds your diff. Thanks.
x maxx kit gogo
