My wife drives a Mustang Mach-E First Edition in Grabber Blue and my daughter purchased this 2022 BMW i4 M50 in Brooklyn Grey. I love driving both but the M50 is a beast. It feels so well put together and luxurious. It has that German feel that can't be replicated. I think the best deal is to buy the BMW used as you can find them cheaper than a brand new Tesla Model 3 Performance and this is much better built than the Tesla.
Nice job with the review. I'm considering adding a used BMW i4 M50 to use as a daily driver. We have a Taycan Turbo and an Audi e-tron, so once I get closer to making the decision I'll test drive the i4 to see how it compares to our Taycan. Used prices are becoming interesting, given the rapid depreciation late model EVs currently experience.
We have both an i4 40eDrive (300mi real range) w/18" wheels as well as a grabber blue MME AWD w/the big battery. Love them both. I consider the i4 a sport sedan and love its RWD. I'd be hard pressed to choose one over the other if I had to choose. And FYI, the 2023 i4 40eDrive came up to ~$52k, much less than a fully loaded M50.
Intelligent Regeneration on MB EQ works fine on the highway, but not good in the city. In EQ, you cannot set regen in user profile which is a bummer. BWM maybe the same.
Great Review Guys… No Question I would choose i4! BTW I own a i4 edrive 40! It is an Amazingly well built drivers car. (You get what you pay for 😉) I appreciate you guys actually spending some time to get to know the car before posting a video. In addition, Patrick, I agree with Liv, this would be a fantastic car to lease or purchase. My car has been nothing short of phenomenal. I have owned several BMW’s, However, this is my first BMW EV. Let me know if you guys have questions. around BMW EV’s
You get what you pay for. However this car cost the same as my MEGTPE. I think I would've chosen this one over the Ford. I only ride Bmw motorcycles, why not a BMW car?
Also got the e40 but….it didn’t come with Professional driving assist which now I’m regretting cuz I miss the dynamic cruise control on long journey. Did you get yours equipped with one?
The reason rear leg room is small is due to long hood. EVs don’t need long hoods, but in this case frame is shared with a gas model so you are stuck. No power frunk at this price point is awful. Ditch that unnecessary start-stop button.
How do you engage the emergency override/diagnostic mode of your EV, then? In the BMW, you activate the override/diagnostic by keeping your foot off the brake and pressing the Start/Stop button 3 times. Oh, and by the way: The physical power button for the radio also serves as the Sleep button for the car. Hold it down a second to put the car to sleep. Hold it down for 30 seconds to force a reboot (you know, turn it off and turn it on again to clear a glitch). Buttons are intrusive-- until they let you do the job straight away rather than pawing through multiple touchscreen pages like what happens in a Tesla.
BMW keep lying Ultimate Ultimate bur in fact the EV still have rear seat hump.

would take Tesla model 3 performance hands down..bmw is so over priced ..I have owned 7 3 series over the years but will never again buy one until they get their act together
I own a traded a model x for an ix and the wife still owns a Y. The BMW is so much better in every way it's not even close build quality, heads up display, seats interior lighting. air suspension cabin noise sound system. etc etc Tesla rides like shit feel every bump in the road. Iuber credits instead of loaner vehicles. Its almost like you've never been in a BMW
Would you pick this or a Tesla Model 3 Performance?
Mmmm… neither. I'd pick the Ioniq 5 "N" if I wanted a "performance" EV.
@@Yanquetino We're hoping to try an Ioniq 5 N soon. Right now, we have an Ioniq 5 D100 (Disney).
I4 for sure!
Yes, I would but I have already decided to buy a eTron GT.
@@MachE_VLOG I'll be curious to hear if the Ioniq 5's open front floor is accommodating for Liv!

If true to the BMW heritage, their famous ad slogan should apply: "Happiness is not around the corner: it IS the corner."
Just picked up the 2024 i4M50 in Dravit Grey. What a beast. Fantastic job BMW :)
I’ve been following you guys for years, and now you’ve reviewed the model of car that I own. Very cool! Great job.
Great review guys! I'm 6' and not a small guy and I find the i4 comfy. You can indeed get synthetic seat material. :)
400$ add on for carbon fiber mirrors? Try 2800$

I really miss having a opening sunroof. Haven't had one since my 86 Acura Integra my first car 😅.
2025 BMW i4 M50 all new steering, headlights :) Gonna wait

Unfortunately I didn’t on this lease..
However,
I will definitely check that option box on my next purchase.
Is it a good one for a daily driver?
In terms of size, isn’t the 4-series equivalent to MB C-series?
Watching this on my Sony Bravia in HDR and it looks amazing! Loving the review!
Editing in HDR and processing HDR is a pain, but I love the look!
@MachE_VLOG the RUclips HDR processing takes forever like a day or two. Trying to edit and color correct is the real pain for sure!
It's weird how our upgraded wheels only cost us 10 miles of range from 270 to 260…
Ask any engineer, what shortens life of electronic and they tell you heat ! That very hot display with copious electronics is a red flag.
Pretty much the same size as their 4 series gas sedan. Its a compact 3 with the hatch
The BMW 3 _is_ a compact. This is essentially a 3 with a funny nose and a hatch.

@@BogeyTheBear The problem with cutesy button pushes is no one will remember them. You need to make a paper “cheat-sheet”

Tesla is a total down grade. Not even in the same class. But great if you are on a budget!
Not the same buyer. This is a much better built car (and more expensive).
