I looked at the EQ series’s and ultimately felt it was a disjointed effort, didn’t have the heritage of a true Benz, and leaned awkwardly into the future. BMW i4 won in my book and I ended up buy an M50.
@@wailashshowaf5942 Totally agree. The i4 actually feels like a BMW, can't say the EQs feel like a real Mercedes... Congrats on the M50! I bet it's a blast.
Thanks, it’s a lot of fun, when I want it to be, and just a solid driving machines, when I’m just going from point A to B. It’s actually my second i4, I had the xDrive40 for 5 months then some one ran a red light and side swiped me. Their car was destroyed (Kia ev soul), I and my passenger walked away without a scratch. The safety features and BMW build are amazing.
Funny, I have never seen the this configuration before. We don´t have the xdrive 40 in europe. I would still go for the normal edrive 40 due to the range though :)
Been driving i4 edrive40 with M Sport package for 18 months; extremely satisfied. Even did 4500+ km across NL, DE, AT, IT, CH and back over summer. Fun to drive, comfortable and during those trips managed to push even 100+ km over WLTP (managed to hit 650km once on a single charge).
I agree almost 100% with your take. I just purchased my i4 eDrive40, but my one gripe is how tinny the doors sound when closing them from the outside. You guys actually called out how substantial they sound. I thought it was because of weight saving or something, but I thought they really felt below class in their heft.
Interesting. Our main comparison point are the Mercedes' we've tested which are subpar in terms of quality. This could be a sign of fluctuating quality - we'll keep an eye out for it!
Apparently the next iDrive update will increase the maximum speed that the autonomous driving is functioning at. That's at least according to BMW forums .
Hey not sure if you can help but I just got a bmw i4 35 M sports with pro pack etc I see your car has metal switches to do the window up and down mine don’t have this and I can’t find anything about this ?
It’s named Grand Coupe, not pronounced “coopyay” That said, I recently transitioned from a ‘22 Tesla M3, to this car about a week ago. This is a far better car all the way around. Such a smooth quiet ride, the power is there when needed. Very solid!
It's a French word, so technically "coopyay" is the correct pronunciation. That's also how they say it in Germany 😉 But that doesn't really matter, ha! Glad to hear that your switch from the Model 3 to the i4 has been positive! We'll try to review a few Tesla's later in the year so we can contrast and compare better on in future videos.
So, BMW i4 vs Mercedes EQE - which one are you taking? And who wants to see us review an M this summer? 👀

@@wailashshowaf5942 Same here. I bought the M50 in August last year and currently have over 15K miles on it with no complaints.
Got the eqe, was the interior that swung it for me but it costs so much more. Eqe really is more comparable to the i5 being a bit bigger than the i4.

We only get the xDrive over here in Canada funnily enough! I would love for BMW to offer the non-AWD version though...

650km is really good! Glad to hear the i4 can outperform its numbers in the right conditions. Definitely a great car!

Bunny tooth 🐰 is really warming up to my eyes… if only I can convince my wife hahaha 😅
Haha, it takes some time but eventually she'll change her mind I'm sure!
Very good video
Thank you!
Tell me more about the DAPP update that's coming? What is it exactly?

@@GCCarsCA exciting, I wish their was a better way to have viability into updates and new features for idrive.
