      Not a direct comparison. You should compare the I4 M50 to the I5 M60.

    I am driving my I4 i4 edrive40 for 6 months now. Perfect daily driver. Great range for an EV and it brings all the typical BMW characteristics with it. Hihgly recommended.

    Got my i5 today as well. Amazing ambient lighting at night and for the power, its not as bad. Some people say the e drive is not enough, but it's much suitable if you're daily driving compared to the m60.

    I have a 2023 I4 EDrive 40. I just could not see getting the I5 at it's price point and specs. It needs to have longer range or be slightly faster. It just basically costs about 10k more for slightly more room and not much else. But I dunno I love my I4, easily the best car I have ever owned.

    I just my i5 a week ago. I drove the i4 before and it's closer to the 3 series than 5, and the i5 is closer to the 7 series. For the price point I'd go with the 5 but depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for full electric power go for the i4M as show in the video. The i5 edrive 40 has 335 HP and honestly it's not bad at all. Still pulls pretty quick. You can get the 5 with most of the options you see here for cheaper if you go with the 530e which comes out in Spring 24' but that has the same 255hp power and lower ICE builds.

    Bro the i5 looks like a muscle car. That thing is a TANK. I love it. The i4 looks great too. Both cool EVs.

    Good review! Took first electric car test drive ever this morning. My due diligence while shopping new BMWs. Also throughout April, BMW will donate 25 trees (Earth Day) to be planted for every new i car test driven. Gotta say, the i4 performed better than I expected, but the foot-off-accelerator automatic braking thing is kinda creepy. I’m old, so sticking to what I know - the B58 under the hood if a G22 chassis.

    You said that i5 with M package in the beginning of the video. Which it was not only i4 is M package because there are no M badge front and back on i5 with 590 hp for M while regular one have 335 hp only.

      No, it’s an m package. Please look into it. It isn’t an M but it has a m package. They are two different things. Look at msrp stickers in the video please.

    I5 is one of the best European EVs, only EQS and Taycan are better, but both are much more expensive.
    However, if you want the best of the best then you should go for Model S Plaid or Lucid Air.
    These cars are next level when it comes to range and speed.

    Prefer the classic look of the i5, but what’s up with that single tiny backup light at the very bottom of the diffuser below the bumper?

      @@VagabondBuilds I actually like overall design of both cars, but I prefer the i5 classic executive sedan design a little better. There are just some nuances on both designs that I do not like. For example, in the i4, when sitting in back seats, your direct side view is mainly obstructed by the C pillar. And the battery is pushed up so high, that the foot well underneath the front seats is very limited (I think 3-4 inches.).
      Most people may not know these things unless they go in person and review these cars for themselves. I haven’t done the i5 yet, but plan on it soon.

    Seeing the layout of the iDrive 8.5, I would prefer the 8.0 version of last year's model where the menu shortcuts are to the side of the screen instead of the bottom (where the Climate Control shortcut is).
    Burying the Climate Control among those other shortcuts makes it slightly move confusing. In the 8.0 version of iDrive you won't miss the Climate Control and accidentally hit another shortcut because they're segregated. I mention this because those other shortcuts have physical buttons on the controller deck that you can use instead, while Climate Control is accessed exclusively through the touchscreen.

      Are you referring to the fact it's a four-door "4 Series"? I can see them deliberately naming it the i4 so no one confuses it with the 1st-generation i3.

    The i4, Gx 4 series and iX are easily the ugliest and hideous modern BMWs made. The i5 while not pretty is a huge improvement in styling.

      Got an iX about 6 months ago. Appreciate that it doesn’t look like every other SUV on the road. Will always pick unique over safe and boring. BMW knows what they are doing.
