The easiest way to simplify the ending is to say, because pucci was erased from this new universe, his gravitational pull wouldn’t exist so it couldn’t drag Jolyne and the others down their Part 6 paths. So they’re given new ones that are much better without Pucci’s influence
My only thing about this theory is how that’s supposed to change Jolyne and everyone else’s name Pucci obviously was around during SDC, but he was never around Jotaro and it wouldnt be much of a stretch to say that all of this gravitational pull regarding fate was manifested almost entirely within Dio, as he was a sort of aberration and crime against nature since he shouldn’t be alive. That last bit of course is total speculation, but considering how the first 6 parts and thus the entire first saga of Jojo revolves around Dio I don’t think it’s that much of a stretch
@@TheOriginalPoon the easiest way to explain that is a sort of reverse butterfly effect. Small little things would’ve lead to some of their names different. The only one that’s got a bigger explanation is Jolyne. Everyone in the Joestar bloodline who has two Jo’s in there name, are fated to battle evil. With Pucci’s influence gone there’s no evil in Jolyne’s Fate, so she doesn’t have the second Jo
The Jolyne to Irene name change is DEFINITELY symbolic. Every Jostar meant to battle evil has a name that can be shortened to JoJo. Hence why George II and Holly had the names they did, because they never got to fight evil, unlike the others. Since Irene’s fate is no longer to battle evil, she doesn’t need a JoJo name anymore.
Rohan would not believe what he'd be reading from emperio, but would know that it to be the true because of how heaven's door works. He'd have a wild new manga plot to pitch to his boss afterwards, maybe an existential crisis but that's not important right now
I love how Anasui ended up being Jolyne's boyfriend in the new universe. Since he was part of the main cast and fate rewarded said cast, fate was probably just like "Yeah this dude wanted to be Jolyne's boyfriend and he's done a pretty good job, let's give him what he wants."
Judging by how fate gave a mafia boss a quick death with angels delivering his soul I won't be surprised if that same fate rewarded the psychopathic murderer who killed his gf another gf
I like the idea that jotaro could share the same name as his old counterpart, whereas Jolyne doesn't, meaning this universe pretty much means that the feud with Dio ended in part 3, as it reasonably should've
@@glitchboi3537 Judging by Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe taking place after Stone Ocean and nothing's changed, yeah, they still take place. It's just Part 6 that's changed
Literally no amount of therapy will ever make him ok I know the theme and moral is that we have to and should move forward and learn to with our pain in spite of itself So I know the concept of this greatly undercuts the weight of both SO’s ending AND jojo’s themes entirely But MiH is such a cartoonishly nightmare event for someone to go through, that’s it’s beyond relatability so the idea that this event permanently scarred him and impacted his life in negative ways is believable So at most, we can just hope that Jotaro flew him over to Rohan to just use heavens door to write the memory of MiH out of emporios head, if it helps you cope Only issue is there’s a hard argument to be made that that’s even crueler from an in-universe perspective that he literally willingly chose to forget the people who were instrumental in not only saving him, but helping him grow. Emporio’s matures enough and lost so much that for all we know, he wouldn’t even WANT to forget them since it’s all he has left of them anyways. The endings great but it seems to work better for us than it does for emporio as an actual person One things for sure, When Rohan reads his mind, he’s gonna get a hell of an inspo for his next manga 💀
@@theradionicrevival8068 emporios memories getting deleted would really undercut the themes in part 6. the theme is that your memories are important. just like for the readers, Jolyne only exists in our and Emporio's memories. These memories have worth even though their events don't exist anymore. And erasing them would erase everything connected to them.
@@salty_3k506 yeah, Ik, that’s why I said thematically it fucks with the story despite maybe technically being the right thing for emporio to do mentally. On a meta-narrative sense, you’re supposed to interpret his heartbreak over losing the gang as the same kinda heartbreak you’d undergo if you lost a pet, family member, friend or loved one, or even things like simply graduating from high school, losing your job or finishing a hobby or task that meant the world to you...almost like a certain manga story that’s conveniently being wrapped up. Shows like Gurren lagann teach a similar moral about how it takes more than just believing in yourself, pressing on while you’re still currently scared or sad is equally important and something we all have to do. “Moving on” doesn’t inherently mean that you got over or forgot whatever it is that you lost, just that you accept it, it’s still living rent free in the back of your mind, but that’s ok! But as I said, MiH in-universe is so cartoonishly nightmarish that it’s beyond relatability and it’s pretty understandable if emporio moves on and lives his life but never ever fully bounces back from this and lives a very emotionally disturbed fucked up life. So I get both sides of why someone would feel conflicted on emporio’s state of mind with its ending. I love the ending for how beautifully raw and cruel it is, but I can see why people feel it’s a bit much to leave a kid alone in that state of mind for the finale of the jojo’s original universe franchise.
I just realized that because the main cast got improved lives in the new universe, it probably means Weather was never switched with a dead baby at birth and thus was able to grow up with his sister Perla and no longer had to get involved in a relationship with her without the potential of incest because he would always see her as her sister, thus saving both of them from the tragedy that befell them after Pucci hired that “private detective agency”. Wes got what he deserved: a good life. It’s enough to make a grown man cry :’)
You know what's somewhat tragic? Pucci was, deep down, a good man, but he got corrupted by DIO. In the meantime, it's implied that DIO might have been evil from birth. And yet, Pucci suffered a far worse fate. DIO died relatively quickly and he didn't endure any sort of "fate worse than death", like Kars or Diavolo. In the meantime, Pucci got pummeled by Weather Report while being poisoned, and he apparently was erased from existence. He wasn't even granted the chance to be reborn and have a life where he may have never met DIO.
In the new universe pucci did exist, and he did meet dio but weather report killed him so part 6 events didn't happen because of weather's revenge completed
Diavolo got the worst outcome. Compared to some other villains he isn’t even that evil and he has to experience his own death for eternity. That’s way too cruel in my opinion.
You forgot to mention that because Pucci’s actions basically got nullified with the final universe reset, FF wasn’t killed. Of course, this means she never gained human-like sentience, so she’s probably just living a regular plankton’s life in the prison lake. Not really a complaint, just something I thought about
so in the reset universe, Atroe is alive, the plankton is alive but FF isn't there because Pucci doesn't exist and he gave her intellect. Does that mean FF is still in heaven? or does the universe reset not affect heaven and hell
I imagine Foo Fighters in the post-MiH universe as some sort of anti-hero that remains mostly in its monstrous form and has no connection to Atroe. Unlike original F.F., the new one is born from infecting the plankton colony with a stand-virus from the meteorite. Much like original F.F., this one also seeks its meaning in life. However, it does it in more savage and villainous ways until it is captured by the Speedwagon Foundation seeking any means to defeat Kars who has returned in the meantime
@@mansurislamov9595 Stop it with the stupid Fan Theories! Obviously Foo Fighters became a restaurant owner under the sea and developed world shattering technology to steal a burger formula after starting a rivalry between a greedy crab. Only to be thwarted by the crab's happy go lucky fry cook time and time again. Her only friend being her condescending (yet always correct)computer wife.
FF wasn't originally a plankton, though, it was one of the stands that Dio gave to Pucci in order to amass the forces needed for the heaven plan. FF as we know her in Stone Ocean is the result of Pucci using the stand disc to give a human soul to a colony of plankton. FF isn't in the Irene-verse because the original user wouldn't have been taken by White Snake before the start of the story, and the colony wouldn't have had the means to become human. Presumably, that user is still alive and somewhere else.
And may I just add, it's preposterous how many people think that the ending of Emporio beating Pucci is "random and out of nowhere, forced beacause 'justice had to win' ". This is actually perfect as an ending for Pucci's character and all of Stone Ocean, fitting the theme of fate and justice perfectly. All throughout the story, fate ensured that Pucci will attain heaven for everyone, and make the people know the future of their life, to accept it and live happily. but Pucci, after sensing that he will be defeated by Emporio someday in the future, chose to stop the process right before he succeeded to go kill Emporio, and defied fate, the one thing helping him to win, he wants everyone to accept their fate, but rejected his own fate of death. This is the moment his hypocrisy and evil lay bare, the moment he chose to let go of fate, fate let go of him and made him drop from heaven all the way to hell. Starting from the moment he chose to do evil deeds and ruin people's live, his failure was sealed, as he will ultimately fail cause his hypocrisy and hubris will make him fall. his fate of defeated, also ironically, destined due to his hypocrite and arrogant nature. The ending of Stone Ocean made a lot of sense, Very Much sense and is close to perfection in conveying the theme, which is to know your destiny while still having hopes and fight on. It just needed more thinkings to realise how masterfully done and how much symbolism Stone Ocean had and sadly so many people didn't.
And if you look back closely, every single member of the Stone Ocean team (expect Emporio) continued to fight in their last moments without hesitation, knowing very well that they will die. Foo Fighters chose to sacrifice themselves and saved Annasui, then passed on without regret. Weather Report had no fear or hesitation in his final moments, and instead used Whitesnake to pull out his Disc as hope for the team to carry on. Hermes knew very well that she's likely to die in front of such powerful enemy, yet went with Jolyne and the others to the sea, and showed no fear in the final battle. Annasui, knowing very well that he could was very likely to die in the process, proposed to use Diver Down to protect Jotaro and everyone else, just to fight for a slim chance of victory. Jotaro, knowing that all may be lost including his life if he don't kill Pucci in stopped time, yet still chose to give up that one opportunity just to save his daughter and Jolyne, knowing that she will definitely die if do so, went on to become the last barrier to fight off against Pucci and save Emporio as their last hope. Everyone knew they would die, and nobody ever showed any hesitation or fear towards it. Everyone died fighting without regret. They looked at their inevitable fate and carried on without giving up hope. Every single one of them, did what Pucci failed to do, to accept their fate and life without regret. So even if their bodies deceased, their soul truly attained heaven and lived on, while Pucci was fated to suffer in hell forevermore. This is what part 6's theme always had been, to fight even when knowing your fate and never give up, to live without regret, marching on with no hesitation. And ironically despite this was supposedly Pucci's goal all throughout the part, he failed at it while the Stone Ocean Team succeeded. They were true heros.
and his defiace against fate screwed his plan up so much, since he essentially erased himself, and gave his enemies their greatest wishes. Jotaro got a break and lived happily with his family, jolyne had her father and had a boyfriend and didn't go to prison, anasui dated and possibly married jolyne, which was his one goal, ermes mentions her sister meaning she's alive, and weather report seems fine (and probably still dating his sis) , and they all meet each other anyways.
@@barondigo8098 it is bittersweet that we watched all those characters die and now, in a different universe despite being reborn, they are all new people. So all the characters we knew for what they were in Part 6 are gone

With no Pucci ever having existed, DIO's death at the end of part 3 really was the end of his influence. He would have had a handful of supporters left but what matters is that he never found a stand candidate capable of attaining Heaven, meaning that once Jotaro burned the journal, it was over. Parts 4 and 5 still happen as normal because they're more concerned with the arrow and Jotaro would still probably want to have Kokichi look into DIO'S child. Jotaro was the true victor of the generational battle with DIO.
It's difficult to describe what SO's ending is to me. I find it one of the saddest and most poetic pieces of art I've withnessed so far. Being filled with joy knowing the cast's struggles are no more, reading Jolyne's new name "Irene Kujo", which doesn't carries the usual "Jo" vowel... But at the same time being aware that the characters I loved and cared about for the entirety of part 6 don't virtually exist anymore... Happiness and sorrow together, this is what art feels like.
@@Gamfluent It's not the same cast. The Jolyne, Ermes and Anasui you knew about died painfully, while Emporio, being the only survivor, in completely alone and everything he experienced will never make sense to anyone.
@@_caso_ Bro you still don't get it. When pucci accelerated time, he needed to go past the point in time at cape carnaveral. A universe reset is a bit like overwriting a vhs tape. Pucci was killed before he could finish. He said how the ones who died (jotaro, jolyne etc) that their souls were left behind in the old universe. So when pucci died the universe reset didnt complete. Emporio was thrown into the original universe and puccis soul was left behind in the new pucciverse that got deleted. So when Emporio went back to the original universe it was altered, because puccis soul was no longer there, he was erased (or replaced by a lookalike). Because pucci didn't exist, Jotaro didn't end up fighting DIOs remaining followers and he was able to raise Jolyne. All of their lives were altered because Pucci was erased from the original universe. It's not a new universe, it's an altered original universe. It's not bittersweet at all. The souls of all the main cast are still there and these aren't imposters. That's why Emporio was so emotional when he saw Jolyne, unlike in the pucciverse where he knew it wasn't them. It's literally just a happy ending where the forces of evil ended in part 3 with DIOs death and the consequences of DIO ended in parts 4 and 5 because of the stand arrows. The only person who got screwed is FF because they're just some plankton again, which was what made it weird they added FF to the anime ending.
pt 6's ending is truly the most shocking, impactful & unexpected ending in jojos. it's the best way to end the joestar curse/bloodline & start for the better. however there are some people who still do not understand how the ending works & hate on it as they "killed off all characters" when they technically sped read it and called it a day.
This is why I had read steel balls run, before I began reading part 6, to give jolynes story time to shine. And honestly part 6 is one of my favorite parts now
honestly yeah, part 6 has the best ending of any part i enjoyed reading part 6 more than part 7, not saying part 7 is bad, actually it’s amazing! one of my favorites, although i personally prefer part 6’s characters and ending
@@josxtta yeah we're definitely on the same boat, both part 6 & 7 are peak in it's own way but preferably i enjoyed part 6 better. for some reason the way it ended left me on a huge impact, making it one of the most memorable parts in jojo imo.
Thank you for making this. Part 6 is my favorite part of JoJo's and it's a beautiful and perfect conclusion to the original Joestar universe and the misinformation around it is so frustrating to see everywhere.
Honestly i think the reason there's so mich misinformation about part 6's ending (beside the usual "jojo fans can't read and don't have critical reading skills" is because of the community. Like from the moment i got into the franchise everyone kept saying "part 5 and 7 are the best". So my guess is most people finished part 5, loved it, and sped-read part 6 to get to part 6 as fast as possible. But since part 6's story is a lot more complicated and needs some time to think about it to comprehend it, the events of part 6 flew over most people's head. So people have many misconceptions because they never took the time to appreciate the part correctly. I'm glad this video exists because stone ocean is my favourite part too and i hope that videos like this will help people see it in the light it deserves to be
I agree. It does have its story telling flaws (especially in the middle) but the conclusion of Part 6 and as a result the og Jojo universe, makes it my favorite part in the entire series
@@weatherreportthestand6221 I don't think it's due to it being sandwiched in between 5 and 7. I can tell you from experience that even when Part 5 was pretty much hated by JoJo fans and they saw Part 6 as better by comparison, there was a deluge of misinformation about Part 6 and its ending. People have been making shit up and misunderstanding every JoJo part for a while, probably since there were Western JoJo fans, and that probably goes for fans in other regions as well. I'm also hesitant to chalk it up to speed reading 6, though it probably does play some part. However, I've seen lot of people speed read most of JoJo because they want to catch up, not just 6. I noticed that this started getting talked about most with Part 6 a few years ago when people wanted an explanation for why people didn't like it, but it's not an exclusive issue with 6, and it's hard to say if it's more prevalent with 6. I think an even more likely factor is JoJo fans seeing all the text explaining MiH, and then because they are lazy and just want to get back to the action, they give it little to no attention. I really think it's just that Part 6 has some complex plot points, and many JoJo fans do not care enough to really analyze the story. And they lack proper reading comprehension, at least for JoJo. I mean just look at 7; everyone praises it as the best written part, but I've interacted with a lot of people who think that and don't even understand parts of it they praise. JoJo is just unfortunately plagued with a subsection of fans that go Baby Brain Mode when it comes to the series' writing.
You definitely cleared up a few things for me, I thought that everything was reset including parts 1-5, when it was just the part 6 cast that was affected. Thanks!

The end of part 6 was amazing. I had it spoiled that something universal happened at the end, but I was in complete shock and bittersweet sadness when I read it anyway
Even though I got spoiled, it didn't even happen the way I thought it would. I thought Pucci would literally reset the universe from scratch. I didn't think it would cycle infinitely, and create an abstract paradise.

11:06 I think people think that Giorno kept GER permanently because of that line that Trish said that the arrow now forever belongs to only Giorno, but I think that means that Giorno is the only one who can use the arrow to turn his Stand into Requiem, and if someone else tried to do it, it wouldn't work. Also I like to imagine that maybe part of Jotaro's life became improved by having the crusaders not die against Dio, but that's a bit too hopeful and it sounds a lot like EOH.
I believe the same for GER but just because it doesn't make sense to have it revert idr if it did on screen or on panel but it just doesn't make sense imo
What I understand is that GER ability work in respond to a direct attack, and that it is know to Giorno. Since Giorno didn't know what is going on and MIH time speed is work in law of time and gravity, it was registered as a natural non-threatening event, since it just speeding in time. GER may not had the chance to fix a point of reference for zero reserves. since MIH part ability is to "manipulate" working within fate guideline. GER ability may be able to affect unlike King Crimson time ability that "subvert" fate, working outside fate guidelines.
@@marvinmaychangelater1027 Yeah he had the stand, and it’s why he’d be a untouchable mob boss, though he couldn’t react to pucci fast enough, and by the time he realized some shit was happening the world was going to fast, but I wonder what he thought because he didn’t get to rule that long sucks.
Everything from Parts 1-5 happens the same exact way. Only the ones who Pucci personally killed during the MIH were reborn with better fates. The events of Part 6 never happens because Pucci no longer exists because he died before the reset was finished. If Pucci doesn't exist then nobody frames Jolyne of murder so she never goes to prison and Jotaro never had to constantly watch his back for DIO's minions and he can stay with his family. So Jotaro and Jolyne have a normal father-daughter relationship after the reset. The generations long Joestar vs DIO fate was also erased with Pucci since he was the only one who knew about DIO's heaven plan. Nobody else will be able to carry on DIO's will. This is why Jolyne's name is Irene. There are no conflicts in this universe, so she is not a JoJo. That's why Araki created SBR universe since the original universe no longer has any threats to the Joestars. Also Pucci doesn't "reset" the universe, he speeds it up so much that the universe ends and begins again. Try thinking of it like a clock, a full rotation is 1 day. Pucci starts speeding up the clock at 10am and stops at the next 10am. This is where he fights Emporio and dies. Pucci dying causes Made In Heaven to lose its effect and it goes back to the original universe, basically Pucci's plan of erasing the Joestars backfired and he got erased instead. Since now Pucci doesn't exist in the original universe, no one would kill Jotaro, Jolyne and rest. So they have better lives. We don't see FF reborn because FF doesn't exist anymore since Pucci is the one who created FF by giving a stand disc to planktons. You could say Pucci did not cause Ermes or Anasui to go to prison so why do they have better lives too? Gravity and Fate are a larger force in JoJo than you may think. Ermes and Anasui were fated to fight this battle against Pucci so they were drawn into these specific situations that led them there. Just how Pucci keeps repeating that the Kujos are his greatest allies. Since Pucci does not exist, they no longer have to go to prison and join Jolyne. This force of fate has been prevalent throughout the series, Zeppelis dont intentionally die for JoJos, they are fated to. Bucciarati was fated to die anyway, trying to prevent it caused the path to change but the destination still led to Bucciarati dying. People saying Giorno and Rohan weren't affected are beyond stupid. LIVING BEINGS WERE NOT AFFECTED BY MADE IN HEAVEN. Nobody was affected by it. Made in Heaven's goal was to reach singularity point and safely transport all living things to the new universe. Pucci wanted to kill Jotaro and Jolyne so that their bodies are destroyed since they would no longer be "living beings" and cannot move to the new universe. Rohan meeting deadlines meant his drawing is so fast that he can draw before the ink dries out. Other mangakas were unable to draw because the ink dried out before they could touch the paper. Made In Heaven physically did not affect anyone.
Ok so... people from part 1-6 still exists but Part 7 and 8 are a different universe coexisting with Part 1-6 universe? How is Part 8 Josuke aware that he is a counterpart of someone from another universe? When was this universe created? So Josuke P4 and Josuke P8 are both alive but in different universes?
I'm so pissed that out of all the JoJo parts, Stone Ocean got this Netflix "bundle" release. This was the opportunity to truly digest Stone Ocean, but now it can be binged as hard as people binged the manga
@@beanholder3634 the netflix batch release defintly was bad and killed the hype for many people. but i think people still overreact too much, they act like the series is dead or smth now
@@jeffboy4231 Truth is, this part was never gonna get the hype part 5 did. Jojo hype was on the downswing during the wait, and part 6 doesn’t have as many “bizarre” or “memetic” or “hype bait” moments as part 5 did (even though it’s got loads of awesome moments). It’s a bit more story focused and its impactful scenes, besides the ending, are a bit more understated. And a weekly release was never gonna change how people interpreted the ending, let’s be real here.
The easiest way I find to explain part 7 is to never call it a “new universe” - it’s a new canon, a reboot of the series. It’s an important distinction because like, D4C has the power to travel to parallel universes, but despite what Eyes of Heaven says, there is no way for D4C to travel so far he ends up in the Phantom Blood canon. It makes as much sense as a stand being able to walk between panels of the manga…
I think the whole confusion is an unfortunate byproduct of the way we use the term "universe" in fiction. In the case of Part 6, "the universe" that was reset was the literal universe, the physical space within the cosmos. In Part 7, "the universe" that was reset was the IP, including the characters and ideas it contains, as in the "Marvel Cinematic Universe". One word to mean two very different things.
I usually say that in jojo there are two continuities: 1-6 and 7-8(+9?). That way you can look at each continuity as having their own separate multiverse.
Yeah ive seen alot of people saying that D4C "should be able to visit the old universe" even though D4C can only visit universes similar or close to it. Even if D4C tried or attempted to visit the og universe , it'd be impossible and would take an eternity or even longer due to the sheer amount of differences between them
He's Araki's self-insert, what did you expect, also Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan is implied to take place in the current year it released, because of smartphones and recently because of the 'Rona and masks making an appearance
I was always curious about what happened with the millions of people that died because of the secondary effects of the acceleration (like that guy we saw freeze to death). Did they reincarnate into new lives as the main cast as well? Does "fate" apply to them? In theory, a world like that should be really different because of the butterfly effect. Either the answer is fate or Araki didn't want to overcomplicate it so much. I'm also curious about the sign that we see when Emporio is on the new universe that says "Orland" instead of "Orlando." It could be a printing/drawing error, but I like to think that is a sign of how this universe is different. But again, the new Rohan chapter takes place after Part 6, and everything is pretty similar. Maybe Araki was just like "I dunno. I just wanted to write Rohan again, but he is like on pandemic lmao."
Exactly, Hot Summer Martha can't take place in a timeline that gets reset in Part 6 (assuming that isn't reversed). And it is highly unlikely that it would take place in the new world that comes from Pucci's defeat either
Yes, the background characters that died bc of MiH's secondary effects would also be reincarnated into new people. ANYBODY who gets killed during MiH has this happen to them.
@@ProjektTaku I'm not convinced that the new world is that similar to the old one until the anime gives more details, I guess. Hamon Beat's crux is "the themes", which just isn't empirical enough for me.
@@anonymousthekiller5199 dude, their is so much evidence. First of, only pucci was erased, so already its only difference is that pucci doesn't affect anything. I just finished Stone Ocean’s anime yesterday and I’ve been very conflicted on how I feel about the ending ever since. But this video made me more content with it since this feels like a more positive outlook on the ending, so thank you!
What’s the point of the part? Felt like build up to go “…and then they woke up”. It could be rewritten so that Emporium dreamed the entire part while sleeping in the car at the end. Nothing would actually change. I didn’t like it, no real reason I just don’t. Makes the part seem insignificant and wasted if it all got “deleted” anyway.
I mean, that on itself is just an act of pointless impressionism, if there's literally nothing interesting about the ending otherwise. That, of course, is not the case in JoJo, but sometimes a story just likes to fuck with the reader for no apparent reason
Not just that but the Joestar/DIO feud ends with two strangers. One who follows DIO's will and plan of heaven and one who is inspired and indebted to the Joestars. The legacy of the feud goes beyond the originators and ends without them. Pucci is thwarted by fate, Wes gets the victory along with Emporio.
Thank you so much for this video. Before I hated the part 6 ending because I had so much miss information in my thought process about it. But you cleared up every single one of my confusions and now I can love this part and ending for what it truly is.
there isn't really a confusing ending for any other part, i can't say for 7 or 8, every other ending is quite easy to understand i believe, part 2 is probably the 2nd most confusing, on account of all the things that allowed joseph to win
@@MichelangeloVA Descriptive of a story??? I mean you were already shown what happened. The part 6 crew are moved into identical bodies just without their memories or story since Pucci didn't exist, whereas Steel Ball Run & forward are quite literally entirely different events and characters loosely tied to their main universe counterparts. You'd just be stupid to believe otherwise.
I'm really glad I checked out this video; I was among those under the wrong impression about the universe being re-set created the Steel-Ball universe; frankly this eases some issues I had with the end of part six. Pucci's Fate was to complete the Universe he set everyone up to (the one where Emporio finds himself in). However, because Emporio was saved by Jolyne, Pucci decided to stop his OWN fate to pursue ''lose ends'' such as Emporio. Pucci denied his own purpose and by doing that, the fate of Made In Heaven was undo, alongside Pucci, who ceased to exist altogether, creating a timeline where the Joestar lived happy without the Bloodline curse. Pucci not only screwed his already WON state-of-the-world, but he also put DIO's work into Oblivion as well. Yeah Dio still existed since Giorno appears in the Ireneverse Ending. Thats the easiest way to put it. He shot his own foot twice, by chosing to chase Jolyne's gamble and by speeding the time it took for Oz3 to intoxicate his body.
the joestar curse still exists, just only up to Jotaro's adventure in part 3, the psychic link still would give Josuke a stand as a kid, and same with Giorno,
Essentially, it's like the various Crisis reboot events DC Comics have every few years or so. In fact, not all of them are even truly reboots, only 2 are: Crisis on Infinite Earths(which led to the modern era of DC) and Flashpoint(which rebooted the Post-Crisis era into the New 52). The rest were just retcons/reversals to clean up the inconsistencies the original Crisis ended up making. Pucci was Retconned out of existence, thus the events of Part 6 and the circumstances surrounding them never occurred: Jolyne doesn't end up in prison(she may not also have her Stand) and has a better relationship with her dad. Jotaro, no longer fearing for his family now that DIO's top henchman is not a threat(as Pucci technically never existed), could now be close to his family. However, everything from Parts 1 to 5 still happened as we know them and Part 6 was retconned into a pseudo version, but the main characters still ending up together somehow. Except F.F.
Great video! I do get people's kneejerk reaction to try to connect "resetting the timeline" to a "new universe" but, yeah, it just doesn't make sense with what we see. I like the more subtle relationship parts 1-6 have with parts 7 & 8. They're not in continuity with each other but, like the video points out, the later parts build on the elements from the first universe with a new story. It's such a neat way for a series to evolve.
My head cannon or own interpretation, is that when Pucci died, his existence was erased from the universe, hence eliminating the Dio's curse altogether (he was basically the last thread). The only lives that changed were the ones affected by Pucci himself, everything else continued to be the same. This can also explain why Jolyne has a different name and had a happier life, since Pucci wasn't interfering in Jotaro life (as mentioned in the video, a symbolic change)
That's exactly what happened. Only those directly affected by Pucci's actions were changed, because Pucci never existed in the new universe and thus couldn't affect the main cast's lives.
@@hydratedgraph2486 FF was also the stand and the soul, not just the plankton. So the Foo Fighter we know no longer exists whatsoever, since the original Stand User is still alive bc Pucci never existed
Thank you for this video. Part 6 ending is probably my favorite thing Jojo related ever, Araki at his boldest, and it's sad how many people speed read it and write it off as "boohoo my favorite character died boohoo"
I think the misconception about Giorno and Rohan and a lot of other ones, like the universe being totally different after 2011 actually come from "Jorge Joestar", because that novel references both of those things - Joji Joestar and a totally new continuity that is very weird, as well as Giorno and Rohan being the only "old universe" characters appearing in that story
anime only's are already spoiled because when talking about part 7, manga reader say it's set on an altarnate universe because the original was reseted in the end of part 6. that was that happened to me before I read the manga. Some people can't talk about part 7 without spoiling the ending of Stone Ocean
Plenty of people assume that because the main JoJo series ended with Part 6 then nothing can come after because the "continuity ended." The continuity never ended, especially since almost every single spin-off we've ever gotten from this series takes place in that continuity.
Only the cast of part 6 have different lives in the Irene-verse compared to the original universe and that can include even some of the villains. Most of them would still be inmates in Green Dolphin Street prison, but with distinct circumstances: Sports Maxx would probably still be in jail due to his own criminal activities, but wouldn't have been killed by Hermes since her sister didn't die at his hands; Gwess and the other assassins sent by Pucci wouldn't have their Stands; the sons of Dio would still have the potential to use their respective Stands, but without the boost in confidence provided by Pucci, they probably would still have dormant and unusable Stands. Also, all of the girls in the "There are six of them" arc would also still be alive, including Etro, because of the absence of the Foo Fighters Stand in this universe.
The old guy (I forgot his name) actually manifested his stand after mastering the assassination art. Gwess I don't think she was sent to kill jolyne but she wanted to or something gwess got her stand from the amulet that jolyne owned and threw down the drain in the first chapter
@@JustACowThatLives yeah, Kenzo (the old Feng Shui guy) would likely be one of the only, if not actually the only himself, still with a stand inside the prison. Gwess wouldn't have because although she got her Goo Goo Dolls from the amulet that belonged to Jolyne instead of directly from Whitesnake, since Jolyne, or better yet, Irene wouldn't be framed for murder and go to prison, Gwess wouldn't have access to the amulet and therefore wouldn't be able to awaken her stand this way.
@@BRsPedro It is a completely different universe with nothing, except for a few names, in common with all the things related to parts 1-6. Basically, Araki decided to do a hard reset at the end of part 6 to start a fresh new story that still feels like what Jojo's is, but both Stell Ball Run and Jojolion are unrelated to what happened at the end of Stone Ocean, they are their own separate universe.
Another thing about GER, is even if he had time to grab the arrow and re-activate GER to stop the universe reset, the Arrow itself would probably not be in a usable state anymore since non-living things age faster during time acceleration. The Arrow probably would have turned to dust by the time Giorno even knew what was happening.
@@GreenGiorno When SCR disappeared, his ability left with him. If GER was gone that would mean Diavolo is out of the death loop and either dead for good or perfectly fine, both of which the plot clearly did not demonstrate. GER even states Diavolo will never arrive to the truth. so obviously GER is still alive ensuring Diavolo stays trapped.
It's good that someone with a significant grip on the community made this video. There's soo many people who don't read the manga and then try to act smart and say something completely wrong. I've seen 100+ people say SBR exist cause of the universe reset, or that the jojos completely lost the fight. And both of these are obviously wrong, 1. The second universal reset, 2. they were reincarnated with a new history and different names, they don't have their memories but they're the same people. People misinterpret how MIH changes people's physical appearances/souls with the people from the Ireneverse, meh some of this stuff is explained in this video so im done writing here lol
Thank you for this video. The ending of Stone Ocean is the perfect way to end the original universe and its sad how a lot of people don't understand it
it's such a dissapointment how the majority of people who hate on part 6 clearly has the same excuse everytime, which is they would bring up about the ending over and over.
There’s this idea that the happy ending these characters received as a result of part 6 is not worth it, because as their suffering is gone there’s nothing for them to be “appreciative” of. Which, is kind of insane. Their spirits are the same. While they may not consciously remember the suffering they went through in the previous life, it’s an amazing mercy for fate to give them the life they always wanted but without having to “earn” it.
@@TheOriginalPoon Even if the characters don't remember anything, one person does: Emporio. He knows they deserve their happy ending, and if at least one person knows, it's enough for me.
@@TheOriginalPoon Eh, that doesn't cut it for me. People are defined by their life experiences. It's what develops people to who they are. As such even if Araki claims they have the same souls I just don't see them as the same people. For me, the ending ruined the part.
This was an extremely well done breakdown of the whole reset scenario, thanks man. I was kinda confused aswell when i read part 6 years ago, thx for clearing it all up in such a good manner.
1 - pucci starts making a new universe but when someone dies on the old one, their soul stays there. 2- Universe pucci was making isn't complete yet and pucci dies, pucci's soul stays on the new universe he created. 3- Because pucci soul stayed on the universe he created, pucci never existed on main universe so he never influenced anyone's life - giving jotaro a peacefull life and also others. 4- The universe resets to a point where jolyne + cast were still alive. so (NOT PUCCI'S STAND) the universe recreates jolyne and gives her and cast a similiar destiny that is getting together again, because jotaro had a happy life jolyne > irine isn't a jojo anymore ending the joestar curse. 6- Reason anassui aka anakiss, weather report and ermes aren't in jail is because not only pucci doesn't exist, but Destiny wanted them all to meet again, so it changed their lifes to avoid prison. It's important to know how important destiny is in jojo (look at rolling stones stand), that being said.... 7- all revived characters feel the same about each other, have more or less same personality also only thing that changed was the removed memories (araki part 6 ending letter) Does jotaro name change? unlikely because his life wasn't that affected by the reset because again (destiny) so jotaro still did part 3-4-5, so it's possible jotaro name, ermes also didn't change. One could even say only jolyne and anassui's name changed because those are the only 2 the creator mentions. But i do think it's likely that weather reports name changed also.
9:33 Why would people not remember the reset? I always assumed the survivors of both resets would remember what happened, since Emporio seemed to. Other than killing Pucci, what makes him so special to the eyes of the universe as to retain his memory while other people didn't? I wish the anime had touched more on this subject.
The MIH act wasn’t a reset, it was more time going forward and a new universe being made, Pucci explains that this is why people would remember their fate, and why dead people didn’t come back to life Emporio’s thing *was* a full reset however, just without Pucci One is like being trapped in Groundhog Day, where you remember things that happened in the past, with that past becoming your future, and the other is like time travel, where changing a single thing creates a butterfly effect
I assumed that when Pucci died and HIS time acceleration being undone, the new universe that was actually reset meant NONE of it even happened. If pucci didn’t die then yes- people would remember what happened (even though they wouldn’t understand why like Emporio). But *because* of his death, he never existed, and nothing that happens in part 6 ever happened.
@@cherie..cherry I believe that is the case, yes. Still, it doesn't explain why Emporio got to keep his memories while every single other person on the planet did not. That's my biggest pet peeve with the whole thing...
Thanks for explaining it to me i hated the stone ocean ending so much because i thought that everything that happened in part 1-6 is gone now but you answered it exactly how I wanted it to hear
I am blown away by how Foo Fighter's existential crisis served to inform the reader of the circumstances for the ending of Part 6 as a whole. It is incredible, and not to mention ballsy on Araki's part. I figured there wouldn't be a way to raise the stakes of a part of Jojo more than to outright kill the main character in different ways, such as in Part 1 and Part 5 (where Bucciarati is debatably the protagonist). For a story to be written in such a way where nearly the entire cast dies and yet has the weight of their actions carry on and matter more than even they could have imagined is stunning. I love Part 6, and how the ending makes you reevaluate much of the part in a new light. Thank you for elaborating on the context of how Part 7 and beyond connects, and does not connect, to the prior universe. I'm only around 19 chapters in, so the clarification is appreciated. I understood how everything is now new, but hadn't yet given thought to the nature of how Part 7 does not necessarily have to have been set in and after the exact point of where the universe ended up at the end of Part 6. Man, the end of Part 6 really makes a fella expand their mind to new creative possibilities, I tell you what.
Well, it's kinda poetic if anything, which fits with Araki's way. Having the same souls even after a twice incarnated universe is probably the answer that coincides wth the "happy endings" Araki likes to write for those on the path of justice. Even if the memories aren't the same, the soul is the same, so Irene and Jolyne wouldn't be that different, at least not where it counts. I think the nod to Irene and Anakiss being betrothed in the new universe is a comedic nod to that.
There's one little thing I noticed that isn't a plot hole, but just something to think about. When Pucci first reset the universe, he replaced Jotaro with a different man altogether. Since the original Jotaro killed Dio, Pucci may have missed a chance to save Dio. We're not 100% sure how made in heaven works, so it may for may not be possible, but if Pucci visited the 1970's instead of 2011, he could have reconnected with Dio. That said, Pucci was so obsessed at that point that he probably forgot all about Dio.
I just finished the last batch of the Stone Ocean anime. Personally I think the ending was fantastic and I got the jist of it just from watching in the moment. Pucci’s existence has been erased which means no one exists to carry the torch of Dio’s heaven plan, thus no longer endangering Jolyne/Irene, allowing Jotaro to be a present father. This allows her to have a normal healthy childhood, and grow into a normal woman free of the Joestar feud. And yes as fate will always force certain things to happen, the new purified versions of the SO cast eventually meet again and become friends all over again, in a much happier scenario than previous. The fact that everyone’s souls were saved and were given a pure path to walk is what makes me love this ending. It’s bittersweet knowing the sacrifices that were made, but seeing the same people living totally different, objectively better lives, is fulfilling in such a grand way.
I want a full anime episode or at least 75% of one dedicated to this chapter, expanding what happened to other characters and clarifying what happened for the anime. I somehow doubt this would happen, but it would be really cool.
I was just going through the ending again to get panels for my next review video on Jorge Joestar. Stone Ocean's ending is tragic but at the same time it is beautiful, from a building hopelessness that seems inescapable to then still have Fate favor the Just, all in the perfect way finally allowing Jotaro and Jolyne to break the curse that plagued the Joestar family for generations. It's a high contender for my favourite part because of it.
I came looking for answers after just finishing the anime and you explained them very well! Also Netflix did a great job with using accurate information from the manga.
Ok, so I finally get it I just finished watching Part 6 and was really confused to what the ending meant So, if I understood correctly, after Emporio defeated Pucci with Weather Report, the universe reset once more, making us go to "Universe 3", which is a rewritten version of "Universe 1", but only after Part 5 (Phantom Blood to Golden Wind occur exactly the same way as we saw them) In this rewritten universe, Pucci no longer exists and all the main characters live as if all of them had survived Pucci and "lived happily ever after" Of course 'cause Part 6 didn't happen in this "new" universe, they don't have those memories and have to meet each other once again (I still wonder what happens to Foo Fighters) And the name change for Jolyne to Irene is a representation of the end of their bloodline conflict, symbolizing how it's all done by it not being "rewriteable" as JoJo (I still don't get Anasui's name-change to Anakiss, but ok) And, at the same time, the Parts 7-9 universe is completely unaffected by the events of Part 6, and is just a mere parallel universe of JoJo, with a lot of different events, but still not directly connected to what happen in our original one Thanks a lot for explaining it and leaving it extremely clear!
These versions of the part 6 cast are completely reborn. Its as if the timeline started over just with no pucci. Its not really "if they survived pucci" its "if they never had to fight pucci at all." Thats why jotaro and jolyne are closer, since without pucci jotaro doesnt have to worry about dios henchmen targeting his family after part 3.
Now I wonder, does Emporio still have the Weather Report DISC? As seen in the Emporio vs Pucci ending Emporio still had the Disc despite the DISC not existing in that time frame. I really do wonder if Emporio still has access to Weather Report which would be cool.
People pointed out it might be why it rained, that he unconsciously used it when crying. The rain is also what brought all of them together, so that'd also fit nicely if so.
@@Helpames Or maybe he got the stand permanently after the reset, with Burning Down the House discarded in its place or Weather Report just became a dormant stand that only activates with his emotions.
@@suckerman7gm I doubt it since DISC’s aren’t permanent as we’ve seen overtime, enough pressure, or not being able to control it can eject the DISC from the user, but that is possible!
one thought I had is that with Pucci's death, I wouldn't necessarily say that a new universe was created, rather that they returned to the original - with altered circumstances - because Pucci died while his stand's effect was still unfinished, kind of like his stand is pulling out measuring tape meaning to hook the end of it onto something to leave it as is, but then when he dies before securing it the tape is let go of and it reels back into it's case
One thing about the continuation of the old universe given by Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe that I think may contribute to the misconception of the reset universe being the same as the SBR timeline is how in the Poaching Seashore chapter it's revealed that the Higashikatas seem to be more well off than they were in Part 4, given their private ownership of the area with the abalones. This makes it seem as though they now have a similar standing to that of the Higashikatas in Jojolion and if taken in isolation one could infer that they are the same family. Of course, this is debunked at the end of the chapter where we see the original Josuke and friends sitting at the table with Rohan, but I think it's still worth pointing out how the proceedings of part 8 could influence Araki's writing even when it takes place within the old continuity.
When I read part 6, I took the ending as Pucci's existence got erased and therefore only the lives of those heavily intertwined with Pucci got changed. Part 4 and part 5 wouldn't have much connecting their story's and characters to Pucci and therefore any changes would be negligible. Also that annasui simped so hard he got his wish granted.
@@imranazizmalik625 Yes. Parts 1-5 still happen as they did before, so therefore Jotaro still has Star Platinum, Josuke still has Crazy Diamond, Emporio still has Burning Down the House, etc. Whether Irene and her gang still have their Stands is a bit more ambiguous.
The clean break between -6 and 7- is one of my favorite things about 7-8(and 9 I assume) it allows Araki to basiclly make a bunch of "jojo references" whether they be fun easter eggs like most of 7 or direct subversions like in 8, they've added a ton of fun flavor to those parts for me
I just finished reading this after months of reading it on and off and i gotta say, Jojo's took something that genuinely frightens me with the thought of a repeating universe and made it a beautiful moment w/ Emporio finding his friends alive and well in this new universe. The concept has been used before in Futurama and A Ghost Story but both of those felt really fucking sad and scared the hell out of me. Despite Ghost Story being a kind of acceptance and embrace of the volatility of life; I guess I just have a hard time embracing it. Damn, Jojo's is wild. In the best possible way.
I always took the change to be that, since Pucci was killed before the loop was finished, Pucci himself was erased from the whole new timeline, and only things he was involved directly in were changed. Anything from the parts before 6 would seemingly be unchanged, but Weather would either not be kidnapped and would spend a nice life with his sister as sister, or they would never notice they were related and would have a "normal" relationship. Since Pucci was involved with the followers of DIO seeking revenge, and was a main manipulator following his old plans, Jotaro's problems would be less and he would have more time for his family. While that does not explains the better lives of Ermes and Anasui, I would then give it a mix of Butterfly Effect and, well, since Stand Users attract each others as mentioned in Part 4, Fate conspiring for them to meet. Meaning... somewhere there could be a Foo Fighters for them to meet again soon? Would being an Independent Stand (or, well, whose mind is the Stand's and not the user's) allow her to remember the past though, like GER could act by himself during King Crimson's erased time? But would that not mean FF and GER would remember the Eyes of Heaven experiences, even if they were erased from having ever happened...
fantastic video. did part 6 so much justice. i'd love to see a vid on the part 7 multiverse when small things are different and how characters like dio can have their pre-reboot stands in relation to the original timeline universe. i always found that so interesting.
Ok so im a pretty new jojo fan. I watched all the way to the beginning of part 5 and was told that in part 6 the universe would be destroyed and restarted. That really put a damper on me and I didn’t want to continue watching. I loved all the adventures the jojo family was going through and to have them just be rendered irrelevant made me pissed. Thank you for clearing this up. It really helped.
Thanks, Hamon Beat. My main issue with this ending was, did the other past characters (Josuke, Giorno, Holly, Joseph and friends) knew about the reset and only moded Jotaro, Jolyne and part 6 gang didn't. It will be so weird. But it's clear now. The new universe is one were everything happened quit similarly but without Pucci existing, Jotaro can leave with his family, Wes/weather will not suffer at the hands of the KKK and stuff. The DIO curse is lifted and everyone lives happier. But even if the souls are the same, The memories are not which is why Emporio cries, because FF earlier explained that their memories make their souls. So Its Jolyne but not Jolyne. That's why it's bittersweet and good overall.
I somehow have gone all this time without being spoiled this ending so it was truly a shock to experience. thank you for the break down will help my enjoyment of part 7 and 8 going forward.
To people saying how sad is the heroes erasure, a reminder that's nothing new in Jojo. Most of the heroes had awful destinies, since the start. In a way, resetting the world, lifting the Joestars from the responsibility to fight evil was a merciful ending.
I just recently finished part 7 and when I finished part 6 in 2020 I was very confused but I think I was even more confused the last 20 to 30 chapters of part 7. Araki really knows how to outdo himself
The easiest way to simplify the ending is to say, because pucci was erased from this new universe, his gravitational pull wouldn’t exist so it couldn’t drag Jolyne and the others down their Part 6 paths. So they’re given new ones that are much better without Pucci’s influence
actual good explanation, you got my like
My only thing about this theory is how that’s supposed to change Jolyne and everyone else’s name
Pucci obviously was around during SDC, but he was never around Jotaro and it wouldnt be much of a stretch to say that all of this gravitational pull regarding fate was manifested almost entirely within Dio, as he was a sort of aberration and crime against nature since he shouldn’t be alive.
That last bit of course is total speculation, but considering how the first 6 parts and thus the entire first saga of Jojo revolves around Dio I don’t think it’s that much of a stretch
To me it’s fate that brings them together. They were always destined to collide, but like you said now without pucci influence
Trying to explain this since I red it
The Jolyne to Irene name change is DEFINITELY symbolic.
Every Jostar meant to battle evil has a name that can be shortened to JoJo. Hence why George II and Holly had the names they did, because they never got to fight evil, unlike the others.
Since Irene’s fate is no longer to battle evil, she doesn’t need a JoJo name anymore.

Literally no amount of therapy will ever make him ok
I know the theme and moral is that we have to and should move forward and learn to with our pain in spite of itself
So I know the concept of this greatly undercuts the weight of both SO’s ending AND jojo’s themes entirely
But MiH is such a cartoonishly nightmare event for someone to go through, that’s it’s beyond relatability so the idea that this event permanently scarred him and impacted his life in negative ways is believable
So at most, we can just hope that Jotaro flew him over to Rohan to just use heavens door to write the memory of MiH out of emporios head, if it helps you cope
Only issue is there’s a hard argument to be made that that’s even crueler from an in-universe perspective that he literally willingly chose to forget the people who were instrumental in not only saving him, but helping him grow. Emporio’s matures enough and lost so much that for all we know, he wouldn’t even WANT to forget them since it’s all he has left of them anyways.
The endings great but it seems to work better for us than it does for emporio as an actual person

@@salty_3k506 Yeah. That’s basically the lesson FF taught to Jolyne when they sacrificed themselves.

Not really a complaint, just something I thought about
so in the reset universe, Atroe is alive, the plankton is alive but FF isn't there because Pucci doesn't exist and he gave her intellect. Does that mean FF is still in heaven? or does the universe reset not affect heaven and hell
@@axolatte universe reset doesn’t affect heaven or hell

Actually yeah, that's true. Never thought of that consequence before.

The only person who got screwed is FF because they're just some plankton again, which was what made it weird they added FF to the anime ending.

honestly true

That would be impossible, Pucci being erased from the universe wouldn't affect Dio's fight against the crusaders in any way.
@@bloodysimile4893 Isn't GER's ability return to zero? You can't return time to zero without doing the exact same thing as Pucci and MiH
Well it’s a new universe, but in a new cannon universe, not two different verses, but we know infinite parallel universes exist in jojo, due to D4C.
Yeah ive seen alot of people saying that D4C "should be able to visit the old universe" even though D4C can only visit universes similar or close to it. Even if D4C tried or attempted to visit the og universe , it'd be impossible and would take an eternity or even longer due to the sheer amount of differences between them

Not just that but the Joestar/DIO feud ends with two strangers. One who follows DIO's will and plan of heaven and one who is inspired and indebted to the Joestars.
Except F.F.
Yeah just mechanically more complex
That's just the regular canon, all events in JoJo's went normally except for all of part 6, since Pucci doesn't exist anymore.
That's exactly what happened. Only those directly affected by Pucci's actions were changed, because Pucci never existed in the new universe and thus couldn't affect the main cast's lives.
It makes me legit sad that Foo Fighter just doesn't exist in the new universe.
Edit: THERE IS JUSTICE FOR FOO FIGHTERS BOYS
FF probably still exist as a regular plankton somewhere on Earth
@@hydratedgraph2486 FF was also the stand and the soul, not just the plankton. So the Foo Fighter we know no longer exists whatsoever, since the original Stand User is still alive bc Pucci never existed
Thank you, after finally finishing part 6 anime last night this video was the closure i needed and it helped me understand everything.
It doesn't help that the games make GER immune to MiH's power.
Those stories are non canon.
Both Rohan and Giorno in Jorge Joestar are from alternate universes, so it's a misconception based on misconception.
@@overheaven2934 I cant be sure about Rohan but as far as Giorno goes Im pretty sure it was implied he might be the og universe one
@@marleonka. This Giorno has a split personality. His GER works different, so he is not original one.
Anime onlys are gonna be like: why is Emporio so bloody in the thumbnail?
Anime onlys are already spoiled af cause of the HB thumbnails lol
anime only's are already spoiled because when talking about part 7, manga reader say it's set on an altarnate universe because the original was reseted in the end of part 6. that was that happened to me before I read the manga. Some people can't talk about part 7 without spoiling the ending of Stone Ocean
us anime onlys have been spoiled for years because everyone loves to spoil part 6 when talking about 7
@@meurer13daniel and they arent even correct lmao
He spilled his kool aid
I have to say though, Giorno with GER walking normally through the destruction of C-Moon while everything is falling to the side, would be REALLY cool
If only the cast of part 6 have different lives, wtf is all of part 8? Who is Josuke's "counterpart" who tf is everybody? What universe is that?
@@BRsPedro It is a completely different universe with nothing, except for a few names, in common with all the things related to parts 1-6. Basically, Araki decided to do a hard reset at the end of part 6 to start a fresh new story that still feels like what Jojo's is, but both Stell Ball Run and Jojolion are unrelated to what happened at the end of Stone Ocean, they are their own separate universe.
I had no idea there would ever be Jojo media set after the universal reset, this is deeply fascinating and I must look into it.
hmm yes goat
I didn't either. I just thought the new Rohan chapters were just sort of soon after part 4.
I don't think he needs the arrow. Golden Experience was shown a completely dead hollow husk implying its gone forever and replaced by GER.

Fantastic job
Came here after finishing stone ocean anime today. Great explanation
Honestly, it's a great ending, but it's always left a bad taste in my mouth. This video did a lot to make me feel better about it. Thank you
Thank you for this video.
Babe wake up Hamon Beat uploaded a new video
in response to time exponentially speeding up, Rohan Kishibe just wrote manga faster because he's literally a force of nature
Bro's a menace
7- all revived characters feel the same about each other, have more or less same personality also only thing that changed was the removed memories (araki part 6 ending letter)
Does jotaro name change? unlikely because his life wasn't that affected by the reset because again (destiny) so jotaro still did part 3-4-5, so it's possible jotaro name, ermes also didn't change. One could even say only jolyne and anassui's name changed because those are the only 2 the creator mentions. But i do think it's likely that weather reports name changed also.
Pretty good TL DR
Liked the way you explained the whole thing breaking it through points, so it was easier to grasp.
Any explanation regarding Emporio?
9:33 Why would people not remember the reset? I always assumed the survivors of both resets would remember what happened, since Emporio seemed to. Other than killing Pucci, what makes him so special to the eyes of the universe as to retain his memory while other people didn't?
I wish the anime had touched more on this subject.
Part of it might be that he didn't die
The MIH act wasn’t a reset, it was more time going forward and a new universe being made, Pucci explains that this is why people would remember their fate, and why dead people didn’t come back to life
Emporio’s thing *was* a full reset however, just without Pucci
One is like being trapped in Groundhog Day, where you remember things that happened in the past, with that past becoming your future, and the other is like time travel, where changing a single thing creates a butterfly effect
6:35 The ending of the anime confirms that parts 1-5 still happened while Irene and the rest meet at the gas station.
Thanks for this really needed it cos that ending was *FUCKING INSANE!!!*
fun fact: Irene comes from the Greek word Ειρήνη, which means peace.
That said, Pucci was so obsessed at that point that he probably forgot all about Dio.
qtaro still killed dio but yeah he may have been able to meet him
I just finished the last batch of the Stone Ocean anime.
TLDW: Pucci got deleted and now everyone's lives are better
I was just going through the ending again to get panels for my next review video on Jorge Joestar. Stone Ocean's ending is tragic but at the same time it is beautiful, from a building hopelessness that seems inescapable to then still have Fate favor the Just, all in the perfect way finally allowing Jotaro and Jolyne to break the curse that plagued the Joestar family for generations. It's a high contender for my favourite part because of it.
I came looking for answers after just finishing the anime and you explained them very well! Also Netflix did a great job with using accurate information from the manga.
It's DP not Netflix
David production not Netflix
Great explanation!
Ok, so I finally get it
I just finished watching Part 6 and was really confused to what the ending meant
So, if I understood correctly, after Emporio defeated Pucci with Weather Report, the universe reset once more, making us go to "Universe 3", which is a rewritten version of "Universe 1", but only after Part 5 (Phantom Blood to Golden Wind occur exactly the same way as we saw them)
In this rewritten universe, Pucci no longer exists and all the main characters live as if all of them had survived Pucci and "lived happily ever after"
Of course 'cause Part 6 didn't happen in this "new" universe, they don't have those memories and have to meet each other once again (I still wonder what happens to Foo Fighters)
And the name change for Jolyne to Irene is a representation of the end of their bloodline conflict, symbolizing how it's all done by it not being "rewriteable" as JoJo (I still don't get Anasui's name-change to Anakiss, but ok)
And, at the same time, the Parts 7-9 universe is completely unaffected by the events of Part 6, and is just a mere parallel universe of JoJo, with a lot of different events, but still not directly connected to what happen in our original one
Thanks a lot for explaining it and leaving it extremely clear!
Maybe but who knows. But I like to think he still has access to weather report
@@Estra_Estra People also forgot the fact that it constantly rains in florida lol
one thought I had is that with Pucci's death, I wouldn't necessarily say that a new universe was created, rather that they returned to the original - with altered circumstances - because Pucci died while his stand's effect was still unfinished, kind of like his stand is pulling out measuring tape meaning to hook the end of it onto something to leave it as is, but then when he dies before securing it the tape is let go of and it reels back into it's case
Thanks Hamon Beat, You're doing gods work
I’ve just finished part 6 (I’ve seen the anime version) and I’m VERY GRATEFUL that this video exist
Of course, this is debunked at the end of the chapter where we see the original Josuke and friends sitting at the table with Rohan, but I think it's still worth pointing out how the proceedings of part 8 could influence Araki's writing even when it takes place within the old continuity.
or josuke inherited josephs money when joseph died
Maybe Josuke put that lottery money to good use
When I read part 6, I took the ending as Pucci's existence got erased and therefore only the lives of those heavily intertwined with Pucci got changed. Part 4 and part 5 wouldn't have much connecting their story's and characters to Pucci and therefore any changes would be negligible. Also that annasui simped so hard he got his wish granted.
That's basically right; Parts 1-5 still happened the way they originally did, and it's only the events of Part 6 that are completely erased.
@@F1areon so stands do exist? And does jotaro still has star platinum?

Thanx for info keep up the good work and never change your intro
The weirdest thing to me is the fact that Mario, Scooby Doo, and JoJo all have one thing in common and it's the universe getting reset.
For JoJo fans Giorno should be capable of reversing world hunger and wars by using GER

Yes. Their sacrifices were still deaths, but they died for a better life for their reincarnations. Bittersweet indeed
Thank You so much i was a little confused, i finished all 5 seasons of jojo this month and now going to read part7,8 & 9 🤜🏻🤛🏻
