    I have a butterfly close comb safety razor with a torqued blade and it’s a great money saver it’s cheaper to buy razor blades rather than the disposable one which are more expensive in the long run

    Got your chrome open comb head for my cheapo 3 piece I had and ot totally upgraded it. Glad I now have a more aggressive razor as my ttos are mild and my qshave futur clone is a nice adjustable that gets really aggressive on setting 6.
    I found it odd that you shipped from SC and your name is westcoast.

    What's your favorite razor (SE, DE or straight) and favorite blade?

      Both are closed comb. Congratulations on owning 2 of the best shaving razors available at any price. Unlike the expensive, chrome plated pot-metal safety razors prevalent today, yours are nickel plated brass, and truly built to last several lifetimes. Try several different blades to determine which will work best in your razors. For the 198 (Fatboy) start out at setting #3, making sure to open the head doors slightly before turning the adjusting ring.
      The Rocket is said to shave about the same as the 1940's model Super Speed (which is my favorite and most- often used razor). It easily gives me a BBS 12 hour shave without irritation.

    What are the benefits of a single edge over a double edge? Is it just width and blade thickness?

    • @WestCoastShavingChinoHills
      @WestCoastShavingChinoHills  5 лет назад +4

      Not a huge difference. The double edge just allows you to turn the razor and allows you to shave with the other side before rinsing off your whole razor. The prices of double edge blades are cheaper than single edge razors.

      Scoutk Bartholomew so basically no advantage over DE.

    I'm a head shaver. What type of safety razor preferable for head and face shave(OC/CC single edge, double)? just want to kill two birds with one shot. I do shave every third day, my skin is average sensitive.
    Thanks for your explanations, guys.

      Юрий Эволов If it we’re me, maybe get a Parker Variant or another adjustable that way you can dial in the aggression to meet both needs with good blades.
