    This was basically a modern day version of New Blood, similar storyline in WCW in which younger guys were put together on war with older guys. Not suprisingly, Sting, Nash, Booker T and Steiner were all involved heavily in both storylines. However the roles were reversed this time. In WCW, older guys were pushed as faces, while younger guys were pushed as heels. Many saw this as the reason that New Blood storyline was not working out, as it turned audience against the younger guys, including Booker T and Steiner who were members of New Blood, and they cheered for older guys. This time they did the right thing by making older guys heels in war against younger guys. And it totally worked out.

      It's funny how nostalgia can be. If i remember correctly at the time, the Main Event Mafia was blamed along with Hulk Hogan and Bischoff for pushing older wrestlers instead of the younger guys on the roster, which ended up being one of the reasons for the downfall of TNA.... oh wait, impact wrestling.

    • @Rollyboy141
      @Rollyboy141 Год назад +3

      @@themastermind5638 Definitely not, we’re were enjoying the Mafia because they were feuding with The Originals over Power and Respect. Admittedly this was Russo’s, so I’ll give him credit on that. After that with Hogan/Bischoff/Flair saga, yeah it was like F**k this lol

    I always loved the MEM and getting to relive this is really cool, thanks for uploading this. Only a few minutes into watching when I had to comment, the Uprising vs MEM was a really cool idea but wish they played a bit more on the fact that a lot of the guys involved in the Uprising were mentored at one point or another by the guys in the MEM, Sting and Kurt and AJ, Kevin Nash and the MCMG, Big Papa Pump and Petey. All had really fun story lines before this and could have been used more. You get to see that when Scott joins and he hits everyone with the pipe but Petey.

    It's a shame that Kevin and Booker went back to WWE in 2011 and ruined a proper return for them. I dunno about you but Main Event Mafia vs Fortune during that time would have been one of the best dream matches to have ever come out of Impact Wrestling.
