I remember the first time I ever had Tomato Pie. My older sister took me to lunch at a beautiful little restaurant that used to be an old antebellum mansion. It had dark wood floors and huge round tables with snow white tablecloths. It was a meat-and-three style and they served every kind of Southern dish known to man. My sister talked me into trying the pie. I did, and I could not believe how good it was. This was several decades ago. I don't remember what else I got that day, but I still remember that incredible first taste of Tomato Pie. This show brought back some lovely memories. Thanks, Paula! Now to find some decent tomatoes and make one again!

I love the casualness and give-and-take of conversation during Paula's quarantine shows. It's so real, just like family and friends behave when they feel comfortable with one another and don't need to watch every word. And I feel like I'm sitting right there in the kitchen with them. Love it! Such a wonderful diversion during this time of isolation.

We've been making this for years. A lot of people don't understand that when you call something a pie it does not mean its sweet. Pies can be savory as well.. for example chicken pot pie..lol

I wouldn’t hate to cook anymore, if somebody would go get all my ingredients, slice, grate and measure everything . Put it out for me with directions. Wonder who washes the dishes????

Everyday I go out and tell my tomato plants how proud I am of them just so they will hurry up and give me some tomatoes to make pie. I've make it for some years and can never get enough.

I’m 51 and when I edit my videos, I am always shocked by the things I say… chili instead of chowder was my most recent.

Oh Miss Paula. My Granny used to make a southern sweet tomato cobbler. Instead of using peaches or berries you use tomatoes. Talk about making you mouth happy. Lord have mercy girl it’s the best.

Sometimes I drizzle balsamic vinegar over the tomatoes and I always use heirlooms or beef steaks.

Paula, I've been making this pie for years. My whole family loves it and every time I make it for others they want your recipe. You cook so much like my momma did. So many of your recipes are close to hers. Thank you for reaching out to people who love you during quarantine. It's been fun watching you from your home.
