The no foam version sounds like rain hitting a pond at some points. Quite nice. The version with foam sounds like the rain hitting the roof of the shed you and your friends take shelter in. THAT is good sound.

I see many channels overreacting to the slightest sound of change when they do modding. But this is the most significant effect that silicon and padding has to a keyboard I have seen on the internet yet
sounds just like my higround keyboard for $150, literally identical before adding the last bit of foam, now this exact keyboard with ceramic keycaps would make me melt like butter
I recommend use PE foam, pcb poron, and case poron, but no silicone foam. If you love what you hear here, removing the silicone will allow the beautiful sound to come out more. I ordered a this white blue color as well as a black chroma. I can't wait to get them so I can make them sing.
I think DIYs like this that don't require soldering are much more accessible. And it looks like it has all right holes to accept both 4-pin and 5-pin switches, so you don't have to snip any pins, either. Really good job here, QwertyKeys!
@@recessedsubhuman i'm stressing a bit on thinking about plates, foams, and buying specialized tools on disassembling switches in order to lube them and also buying tools for lubing. In PC building there's no such thing, just a mid sized screwdriver is enough.
