I just put the same thing on my 01 mustang GT, about a thirty minute job took me two hours and a trip to autozone. The idle air control was hitting on the new plastic piece in between the IAC and the EGR. I had to round off one side so it would fit flush, and the previous owner had rounded both screws going into the TPS, oh well got to love it.
I just put this on my car tonight...I used my stock egr bolts I did notice it was really tight more than half way through to tighten down..hopefully ok
Nice! And I’ve actually done a lot of research on it lately, basically to sum up... if you have a show car or want a very clean engine bay, go ahead delete it, and install the block off plate and nut cap on headers. If you don’t have a show car just leave it on, it actually does help with emissions and health of the engine a very small amount.
so i have a gt and was considering this mod as well to free up some more ponies.... would you recommend the bbk? and also is the throttle body a 25 hp gain or do u need the plenum as well? please let me know what you think i would love a bit more power....
It's definitely a good beginner mod. Not sure if it'll give you 25 HP but it does free up the airflow and noticeable throttle increase. I'd say it's worth it if you pair it with a CAI
@@RatchetWrenches I put the bbk throttle body on and that's what cause it to not fit up right, but even on the stock throttle body the cold air just barely fit so I needed a new one anyway
I installed the throttle on my 02 mustang gt. O only had a k n n cold air intake, sr performance pulleys and flowsmater 40 series. Do i need to drive it for a while for it to really show the difference ?
There isn’t a break in period or anything for those modifications you should notice changes instantly. I have a SCT Flash tuner and utilized that to give me the most power possible
also where is that whine coming from??? are you supercharged or something i would die for my mustang convert to sound like thisss!! my goddd... so other than that would you recommend this mod to other stang owners for a quick 25 horsepower? or save up for a tune box? thanks so much in advance for any information and tips you can throw. my way i really do appreciate it!! -pete
That whistle you here is from the combination of the CAI and BBK Throttle Body I believe. There was a lot more air traveling through to the engine now. Honestly a CAI, Throttle Body and full exhaust does wake these cars up a good amount for a relatively cheap price point!
Hi guys,I am on the fence about putting a kenne bell in my 02 just don't know if I want to spend the money.I have slp 1 with 373s and Mac cai.Do you think a 78mm throttle body/plenum is too big for my 02?If not I was thing a jlt ram air or an air raid Cai with a 78 mm bbk tb/plenum.You guys really know your stuff!
KB kits are a lot of money I agree. I went with a turbo kit and love it. A little cheaper and way more power potential with better cooling. But if you wanna go KB 78mm should be fine you need a lot more fuel and air when pushing more power to these 2v's. I have a JLT CAI with the fender tucked filter if you want to buy it off me you can send us a message on Instagram
I had problems with the two bolts that go on top of the throttlebody I use the original ones and made a hole on my bbk throttlebody I still left them on, now my car loses power when I Accelerate and I have poor throttle response. I don’t have a check engine on. So it’s difficult to know what’s going on can anyone tell me what it could be. I feel I screwed up on installing this. Any advise guys?
Can someone please help me. I'm missing the second hose that connects to the cold air intake tube. The one that goes across the engine into the valve cover. Does anyone knows what its called?
I believe you are referring to one of the 2 vacuum hoses. There should’ve been one supplied in your CAI kit, if not, I’m sure any local auto parts store would carry it.
It’s pretty similar to this here. Except I see it’s a smaller opening (75mm) compared to this BBK I have. The gains are probably about the same, I think it’s more personal preference on brand choice. If you’ve been following this build we chose BBK for everything, (long tubers headers, x pipes etc.) so we just prefer BBK.
Daniel Lopez true it cant hurt, that’s how we got one of our sponsors for the F-150. So maybe we’ll just send out a email. Free exposure for them ya know? Goodlooks man!
@@RatchetWrenches mine 96 Gt has pi manifold with cold air intake, idk about the heads but seems to run pretty good, has dual exhaust with flow masters delete cats
Yeah man they’re solid cars. Super fun to drive. We just bought BBK longtube headers and a different c pipe to install next weekend. Make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out. That’s where the gains are going to come from
The intake :/ the bigger plenum opens up more airflow which is pulling the air creating that sound. Other intakes don’t sound like this. This one was on the cheaper end from when we were in high school.
I believe the throttle cable was stuck open a bit with a small vacuum leak but we fixed it afterwards and it sounds good now. There is a slight whistle at idle with the CAI and upgraded plenum but it sounds better then that did.

Couldn't help laughing when you burned yourself on the radiator hose. If I had a nickel for every time I've done that. LOL

Would this fit an 04 crown Vic with a 4.6 L SOHC V8
Not 100% certain but it should yes
That’s what she said
what hose is that @3:20 i replaced my manifold and lost that hose.
Do you necessarily need someone to tune it once this is installed?
No you could run it without one. Might just not run 100% and smooth since you're introducing so much more air versus the stock TB

just installed it today, mine didn't come with one.
