I got the 78mm, and just realized I'm missing the throttle position sensor bushing. Not sure if I can purchase it, but I'm going to see if I can get a bushing about that size I also have a npi motor (97 4.6) and the pcv fitting is for a 99 and later model. Those are the two piece I'm missing I hope the parts store have that
Here you are replacing a throttle body with the same model! BUT if you are installing a BBK throttle body plenum combo 73mm, the coupler between the air intake and the throttle body WILL NOT work as the new throttle body has a much larger diameter! So the coupler MUST be replaced, Where would we find the coupler?
At 1:41 whats that red wire plug called? One of those red lines in my 4.6 1996 broke. I taped it with electrical tape but i want to replace it and idk what is called...
yo!! LMR I installed the 73mm on my 2000 gt but I'm having issues with power lost when I'm starting up and coming to a stop, I checked for leaks and the gaskets just don't understand why it causing this
Well if you mean you're losing HP at low speeds, more air flow means lower low end power. This is made up by higher HP up in the higher rpms. Im assuming you also have an intake and some exhaust mods, according to people adding 24lb per hour fuel injectors and higher grade fuel pump brings back the low end power but ive never seen it myself so not sure. OR you could do a gear swap to 3.73 or 4.10 for the easy way to bring back the low end
what are ur preferences from the trick flow and bbk plenum? personally I got the trick flow plenum BBK throttle body with JLT intake my favorite setup. any thoughts?
so I have my stock throttle body with a K&N intake. I was wondering if the couplets on my K&N will fit the 78 mm throttle body or do I buy bigger rubber couplets for it to properly fit?
I have a question what is the difference between the 73mm and 78mm ?? Some ppl say get the 73mm other says that the 78mm is only if you have supercharger
The 73mm will be smaller and let in less air compared to the 78mm. If you plan on installing a supercharger, we recommend going with a larger throttle body.
Were you actually able to make the EGR valve fit? it looks like you didn't have it on all the way. I ask because I'm trying to install this throttle body but the EGR valve comes up about 3/4" short.
Cody, This one will be hard to source new. You will either need to repair the line you have or you would need to find a well-used option to go back with.
That is one of the three vacuum lines for the throttle body. We recommend picking up a new line at your local auto parts store when making the install.
I don't get it on the product description it says not to use the bushing for the TPS anymore do to machine changes they've made to it. Please update the video if you can.

I'm not sure. The car in the video no longer has this setup. You would need a coupler that corresponds with the outside diameter of the throttle body and outside diameter of the inlet tube. Hope this helps. -Landan
I need an answer ASAP yall .I got a bbk 78 mm throttle body and bbk intake .After I installed them when I just tap my gas it’ll die but start right back up .Do I need more fuel flow like better injectors or what?

Harvey - In all honesty, probably not. Now, if you were boosted in the form of a turbo or centrifugal supercharger than the larger throttle body would help. -Landan
Is the 78mm good for daily driving? I'm usually not in a lot of stop and go traffic, however I do have areas where there are several stop signs and lights and I don't want to lose any drivability.
datboi trap what’s up man? No, I went with the 73mm. I didn’t have enough supporting mods and bolt ons to fully utilize the larger plenum. I was told by several tuners that if I wasn’t going to go with cams and a better intake manifold, that it was worth going with the 73. They pretty much recommended heads, cams, IM, CAI and longtube headers to be able to better utilize the larger plenums.
@@christopherbeaver5601 nm, did it make a difference from stock? I have a 99 lx vic... trying to get more throttle response.. was gonna jump to the 78 .. glad I asked... because I don't have all that extra stuff...
datboi trap it did with throttle response. They do not help provide a substantial increase in power, but coupled with a larger throttle body and cold air intake, there is a noticeable difference. I had a crown Vic motor with PI heads and intake. So it did help and I tuned it as well. The tune probably helped the most.
The BBK 78mm throttle body is one of my favorite mods on my '02 GT! The throttle response is a hundred times better!
Justin n is your car boosted?
Good vid BUT! u need to slow them down a bit more!!!!!

I want to know too
Not on their list, but with some slight vac line plumbing it works on the 4.6 Explorers too.
I’m trying to put this on my explorer. What exactly did you do?
@DiegoMoreno-bc2me ran the coolant line for the heated pcv to the back of the head, then re-routed some vaccuum lines. That easy.
It's the same motor as SN-95 Mustang, same parts.
But it is 6 bolt aluminum block
Would K & N intake work with this 78mm thorttle body too? Or do you recommend going BBK intake and BBK throttle body?
At 1:41 whats that red wire plug called? One of those red lines in my 4.6 1996 broke. I taped it with electrical tape but i want to replace it and idk what is called...

What is the benefit of this add on? How much Hp and torque will this add
The benefits is a small increase in horsepower and torque, as well as a better design and look to your 2V engine bay.
ha...45 mins. This will take me all day probably.
your vids are all great
i have a 1996 mustang gt all stock. i would love to add as much power to it without adding a turbo or supercharger. any recommendations?
Cold air intake, 78mm throttle body, comp cams, exhaust system performance intake manifold to name a few
What about the throttle cable?

+Late Model Restoration will it also fit on a SR performance cold air intake too?
Can anybody tell me the hardware kit size bolts I picked up a used one and didn’t come either the bolts and factory bolts are to long
Is this TB california smog legal? I just saw your other vid of 75 mill TB and plenum and it said that one wasnt

The EGR valve mated perfectly with this throttle body. I would recommend back tracking and double check your work. -Landan
Late Model Restoration It definitely did not fit without torching and bending it. Maybe it's because I'm also using BBK's long tube headers.
Where can I find the vacuum hose that is connected to the throttle body that has the two red lines coming out? I cant find it anywhere.
Cody, This one will be hard to source new. You will either need to repair the line you have or you would need to find a well-used option to go back with.
Where can I get the original bolts to the IAC for this install?
Brandon Flores I know this was 2 years ago, but you can get any of the original bolts at your local ford parts dept.
What is the part number or that first hose he disconnects called?
That is one of the three vacuum lines for the throttle body. We recommend picking up a new line at your local auto parts store when making the install.
What can i do if my bracket bolt drilled through into the intake 🤦🏻♂️ i was trying to remove the broken hardware in it
You'll want to take it to a local shop and see if they can repair it. If not, you'll need to install a new intake

My 01 GT already had a 70mm bbk throttle body installed on the stock plenum. Would I really see much difference with the 73mm combo?
