So cleaning your airbrush after using it and taking care of it will make it last a long time... Who would have thought of that! Amazing info right there guys thank you!
What a chaotic, awesome video! I loved the cutaways, costumes, acting, and editing dude! Everyone involved deserves props .. and poor Rob for spraying his face
Great video as always and as a 20+ years airbrush user I have a little tip I can share and that's Beeswax, Needlelube 'N' Needlepolish, wax for all the treads and Needlelube/polish to give the needles a good clean and slip haha.
Such a useful video Dave! For both beginners and intermediate airbrush users too. Reminds me of when I destroyed my first airbrush as I didnt learn how to properly deconstruct the brush and put it back together again, even putting the wrong paint(s) through it and absolutely ruining it. Learning to clean an airbrush properly is such an important thing to learn.
Lovely to see that you are a Trekker! The next generation premiered while I was in college, and I have sort of missed that kind of content in your milieu.
Nice to see them brought back to life. Also this is the first one that really felt like you came into your own and weren't just a part of the company part of "Jazza and Company"
If you haven't already, you might want to replace the teflon O-rings of the infinity. They may be beyond cleaning. It would have been the cheaper option to replacing it.
Great tips! Airbrushes are definitely one of the most finicky mediums I've worked with, but they're too mesmerizing to stay away from. Thank you for the great video, love the bits and comedy!
I don't know if this is applicable to screw fittings of this small size, but in plumbing you use very fine spun flax fibres that you wind around screw connections. Combined with a sealing paste, this gives an absolutely amazing seal. Could be worth investigating, if you lose an O-ring in the future. Just using a paste won't last, as it doesn't have any sort of support lattice to bind itself to.
Good job, Dave, really nice tips! I've been painting with my Infinity for years, so I have some extra advice. It's a strong tool and it can resist a lot as the video shows, you can clean it with acetone removing the rubber parts. I actually do this with an ultrasound cleaner and I think it can totally clear the atrocity Jazza made to that baby. Isoprol alcohol can clean either the metal and the rubber parts also, even diluted at a 1/3 ratio in water. Those should be cheaper than the airbrush cleaner (Channel n.5 for airbrushes, as a friend named it). And don't introduce the needle that way, it's easy to break the point. Remove the snoozer, introduce the needle backwards till the point is hiding inside, put the snoozer back and push the needle to its position. Live long and prosper!
One tip I got from Next Level Painting that seems to be a silver bullet for cleaning an airbrush is you can take apart the front of an airbrush and keep all the parts (including the front end of the airbrush including the cup) soaking in a shot glass sized cup for a day with 95% water and about 5% airbrush cleaner.
The Vex should be easy enough to get working right. Badger has inexpensive spare parts for pretty much everything they make. Also, there is nothing on it that can rust, so that was definitely streaking grime. For spraying weird stuff like glitter flakes an external siphon brush is the way to go. extremely easy to clean.
It might be worth watching the Reaper video on disassembly and assembly of the Vex, it is very possible to put the trigger guide back in a way that it stops the double action, its the same type of trigger a lot of Badger airbrushes use.
RIP air brushes ☹️ I was eyeing some really cheap airbrushes on Amazon for a starter. Thanks for sharing very informative 😊 Dave you are silly 😜. And my favorite shhhh don’t tell Jazza 😎
I have an airbrush but I'm terrified by it! Infact I don't think I even put it together correctly. (It LOOKS right but.. y'know...) I love videos like this.
Hey Dave! Your American accent isn’t half bad! Also sorry you’re the only Star Trek fan in the office. I know that feeling. My favs are TNG and DS9. 🛸🌌
Nozzles that look visually clean can house a surprising amount of dried paint. I've been shocked what I've been able to clean out of the nozzle of my Iwata Eclipse.
Ordered an H&S Evolution as my first airbrush, I do intend to take care of it thoroughly. Do you have a link to the cleaning set used in the video? Doesn't look like it was in the description. Cringed so hard when you cleaned that Infinity brush, wouldn't want mine to end up like that!
This is why you always clean the airbrush before storing it away. I'm guessing most of the issues came from no regular maintenance and not enough thinner.
Thank you for this, I'd like to think that my tweet at you (Dave) gave you an idea for this video, because it is pretty much what I asked, aside from the how to use an airbrush as a first time user, but this certainly helped!
Okok hear me out, I am 100% sure that this is a really good way to remove gunk that is almost impossible to remove when all else fails, been doing it the whole time, USE acetone when trying to remove really dry paint, and dunkit in and leave it in an ultrasonic cleaner, just keep in mind it isn’t the best on your O-rings
How many of these things did Squidmar send out? Think you guys are the fourth or fifth channel I’ve seen that got one of his limited edition airbrushes. 😂
OK WHAT IVE SEEN JEZZA ALL OVER FACEBOOK BUT HES A WARGAMER? INVOLVED WITH A WARGAMING CHANNEL!!?! YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Bet he plays space marines :P
using cheap airbrushes, the advice I got and has thus far been effective for me is to take off the o-ring entirely and "replace" it with beeswax. I was doing a deepclean of my airbrush the other day and ended up cramming so much dried paint crud in the nozzle that the needle could no longer get through and it took hours of soaking and prodding and soaking and prodding to clear it out. …And then the threading crumbled off as I screwed it back into the airbrush… WHOMP. That's what you get with a $50 airbrush I guess. Thankfully I had a spare.
It’s a learning curve, but not too bad. The most important thing IMO is to learn how to disassemble and reassemble the airbrush before you ever get paint in it. That’s the last thing you want to have to figure out when you’re trying to clear out a clog. After that is learning how to thin your paints correctly for airbrushing. You can test on a bunch of primed pieces of sprue before you start on actual minis. Vince Venturella has a few good videos on his channel.
when i got my airbrush i was like "simple green, i use that to remove paint, surely i can use that to deep clean my airbrush when it gets really dirty" no, it eats the chrome plating if you do
I got to say this who wants to see a thunder bear calvary i just started making my space bears for a fun little side project and when i was out grabbing stuff yesterday and i saw the thunder wolf calvary and i thought what would thos look like if they where bears
470$ for the Infinity...? Seriously? Well guys, do you need any other stuff? I got lots to sell to people that dont mind paying double of the recommended resale price...
@@buchsg that explains it...I did assume US dollar...and was one step away from buying harder and steenbeck airbrushes in bulk to sell them across the atlantic haha
I'm so bored to see squidmar fucking airbrush on all the miniatures channels all around RUclips... It's just an h&s evolution on sale for to much money, buy an evo for much cheaper or an infiny cr for the same price...

So cleaning your airbrush after using it and taking care of it will make it last a long time... Who would have thought of that! Amazing info right there guys thank you!
thank you for showing even the "professionals" get it wrong! Good laugh needed and provided! Thanks again
I love Western Dave lol and the dramatic re-enactments are always a hoot.
“The victim was found covered in glitter.” ✨ 😂
That Tom Scott ending was AMAZING!!!
American Dave is the scariest thing I've heard all week.
What a chaotic, awesome video! I loved the cutaways, costumes, acting, and editing dude! Everyone involved deserves props .. and poor Rob for spraying his face

This video was all over the place and I loved every minute of it
That could have been the best transition to a squarespace ad ever:D
I bought the squidmar Airbrush, just getting into the hobby and have not painted a single model yet! but i am ready!!
Let's not forget that time when Jazza put mod podge through the airbrush...
This made me want to watch more Tabletop Time videos..!
Beautifully put together with the detective garb explaining your mishaps lmao loved it
This video is so much fun to watch... the editing! Do I have to say more?
Yes say more
Good to hear the goofyness was a hit :)
Great tips! Airbrushes are definitely one of the most finicky mediums I've worked with, but they're too mesmerizing to stay away from. Thank you for the great video, love the bits and comedy!
Just got my first airbrush, super excited to use it but terrified of ruining it. Hope it will help me sleep up my batch painting

More Dave characters please! And dramatic re-enactments 😄😂😭💀 This video was loads of fun
Downloaded. Thanks for representing Dave 🖖
All praise be to the Dave!
It's Davletop time!
Jazz really got into the Minature thing
"Fully Addicted Now"
For the infinity jammed up with glitter. Take all of the seals out and put the metal body in some lacquer thinner over night. Flush with water

Nice, the short skits were really funny :D Go Dave!!
Tom in the ending is great
Please Dave, force the gang to do a star trek one-shot role play!

it's badger airbrush imo
The Dave variants keep on getting better, what should we call this one? Inspector Dave? Dave Tracy? loving the sketchs
ty for the video. I have 2 questions: Do u use a respirator when painting with the airbrush? and also when using cement glue?
RIP air brushes ☹️

Hey Dave! Your American accent isn’t half bad! Also sorry you’re the only Star Trek fan in the office. I know that feeling. My favs are TNG and DS9. 🛸🌌
I want to see u destroy the new squidmar airbrush! It’s what I have coming in the mail soon! 🥰
Nozzles that look visually clean can house a surprising amount of dried paint. I've been shocked what I've been able to clean out of the nozzle of my Iwata Eclipse.
Sometimes it's good to brush up on the basics.
You have a Star Trek Sponsor, I'm still waiting for a Star Trek Cogent session.
Oh my I did need that laugh and fantastic quality clip. You guys are getting so much better in the new studio. 😂🤣👍
Thankyou :)
Great job! Was that a cleaning kit were you using, with the brushes and grease?
Noir hippo on the freeway!
I wonder if you could use pipe thread tape instead of grease in place of the print and grease.
Hey TableTop Time, I was wondering (As I am new to the Hobby) what are some awesome websites to order good quality and "unique" miniatures from?
so, don't not clean it and don't pump glitter through it. gotcha.
If I only had the courage to take my very cheap one apart. Maybe this video will give me the push I need. Thanks for that!
First time is the worst. Mostly trigger mechanism is PITA to put back together. Make photos for reference while assembling.
This video was awesome! Please do more like this :D
Hey Jazzy you should make a primarch for your custom space marines.
I’m so sorry you’re the only Trek fan at TTT, Dave! You are not alone! You must assimilate them! Resistance is futile!
🖖🏼
575$ airbrush! 🤮 I just puked I my mouth. Great video all the same. Thanks for doing this gents.
Loved the bits!
This is why you always clean the airbrush before storing it away. I'm guessing most of the issues came from no regular maintenance and not enough thinner.

Great fun vid dave!
Cool crab shirt.
Man, its like you are Jazza's doting father fixing his shit because he never had to buy anything for himself.
Heh heh. Dave's got crabs....
On his shirt.
Get your mind out of the gutter.
That was great!

Can't wait for my squidmare airbrush gets here
Skits were good!
Lol why was there a Tom Scott in the end? xD
How many of these things did Squidmar send out? Think you guys are the fourth or fifth channel I’ve seen that got one of his limited edition airbrushes. 😂
Guys, I don't know about the rest of you but I'm just dying for the video when TBT plays a game of Warhammer with the Astra Primursa unit.

Nice vid! Just too late.. Maybe I can get my Sotar 20/20 to work again..!
How easy is it to use an airbrush? I've never used one before.

Hi
And toDave...
What is this
But I already didn't have to. You've wasted your time and money.
This is a dislike for that shitty startrek mobile game.
I'm so bored to see squidmar fucking airbrush on all the miniatures channels all around RUclips... It's just an h&s evolution on sale for to much money, buy an evo for much cheaper or an infiny cr for the same price...
