Nice looking car and tech, but we all know the price will be double outside China due to all the tariffs, VAT etc. The West won’t allow Chinese cars to come here and undercut theirs - hence the big EU and US tariffs starting to come in. Totally disagree with them, but that’s reality for now. Eventually this will backfire on the West, but politicians don’t look long-term or they’ll get voted out!
Love the looks. .. But the thought of burning off a German prestige car at 3 times the cost, gives me a happy glow down under. Where's that flash light!
Great overview. Showing in your brief cartoon on the Legacy Automaker’s Extinction, I wouldn’t include the Hyundai/ Kia group in amongst them. Here in the Québec province there must going on twice as many of their EV's as Tesla’s , they are everywhere ! 😮
this model is actually the 3rd model finally approved by Xiaomi's boss. then it preordered more than 100 thousand. Xiaomi know what the consumer want. next models would be more interesting.
I'm typing this on my 4 year old £200 Xiaomi phone which hasn't missed a beat and performs as well as any device from that time (I was thinking about replacing it, but there's nothing that provides an appreciable advantage for less than 3 times the price..... Trying to NOT pander to consumerism) . Xiaomi WILL crack it.
Agree. Let consumers chose from the competition of EVs, wherever they are from. It's not our fault Legacy Auto Companies can't build lower priced electric cars as the Chinese do!
If taking this in track upgrade brakes to steel lines and track brakes. Would go for 95kwh, rwd other than that a bit suspect front end metal pop outs and paint peeling, nothing that can't be fixed, and for the price, 5x less than Taycan.
Model 3 has 594 liters of trunk space, which is actually a little more than what the Xiaomi is offering. Not sure where the wrong number of 425 liters is coming from, I see it being quoted quite often; maybe it was from an outdated model.
1.Tesla's EV motors are maintenance free and designed to last a million miles. 2. Tesla's Model 3 and Model Y are some of the safest cars on the planet. 3. Tesla's software and UI is the best on the planet. 4. The Model 3 is the most reliable car sold in China 5. Model 3 cars easily will get 300,000 miles on the original batteries if properly taken care of. Xaomi has a lot to prove before it is a real competitor to Tesla.
The most concise response I've ever seen, bravo! And absolutely correct. Any valid Tesla competitor has a mountain to climb in order to reach Teslas high bar
Great video jigger! I agree some car should copyed Tesla maybe they could turn out a quality, efficient EV. The xiaomine is probably a dud but maybe not.
- Tesla is the Way - Everyone wants to beat Tesla - that's the technique , but the problem is that no one can beat it ))) Xiaomi seems too good to be true , but it's a cheap copy.
@@rogerstarkey5390 I am aware that the Chinese are coming and they will be the leader because they have many offers, but that does not mean that they are better than Tesla
Tesla has a huge lead on software that will be difficult to catch up on but their focus on autonomous driving and lowering production costs rather than better quality and improved interior & exterior design allows competitors to get some of the market.
The difficulty with new EV companies or legacy selling them, is the amount of development costs they add to each vehicle, so they are sold at a loss. However cost of parts and lobour will be within the money they charge for the EV. This could be another great one or a flop as not many people really know of Xiaomi. Sold cheap enough though, this could soon change!
Yeah thanks to Tesla, safety is one of my important features when I look at cars and Tesla is king of safety, so I won’t be buying anything other than a Tesla at the moment 🤓😄
I was chatting to my son about this, I want him to learn to drive and have a Tesla, solely for the safety aspects. Having extra parental controls such as pin locks for chill/speed restrict and even a curfew time are great features for new drivers. If of course, he even needs to learn to drive in a future with Robotaxis!
Sometimes, 'too good to be true' turns out to be too good to be true. We'll see if the meteoric rise of Xiaomi burns out or establishes itself as a long-term viable automaker... a feat everyone expected of Apple, but they flamed out. Meanwhile, legacy automakers may NEVER create a viable software-defined vehicle.
Xiaomi has already exceeded Apples attempts into the car market by 1000%. Should be a matter of fine tuning and improving manufacturing having reached this point

I am being bombarded on FB by Car Manufactures with supposedly tempting offers - 0% finance - Manufacturers contribution - Free Electric Charger installations. One BIG problem - all of the cars are MASSIVELY over priced - £32k for a Golf! This climate reminds me of Japanese cars and Motorcycles in the 60s and early 70s. Everyone said they will never take off. You can apply as many tariffs as you like but consumers are not fools - sooner or later both US and European manufactures will - unless they change - learn a very painful lesson. Regardless of whether the Chinese cars are good or bad - one thing is certain - they are very quick learners.
Ahhh, the shortcut and safety issues. Thanks for mentioning this, not nearly enough humans realize just how damn SAFE Teslas are 😒

Will be very interested to see how the SU7 sells outside of Asia. The looks awesome for there first attempt at building a car.
This is the first EV, based only on looks & specs, I would consider over a Tesla... Shoot us a Brake (wagon) variant, please 🤗
Yep, I can see why! I hope to test drive it at some point and see if it lives up to expectations. Oh, and we call brake/wagons 'estates' 👍

It's 'estates' now is it?
Whatever happened to shooting brake? Clearly I can't keep up 😵💫 But I like estate as well 😏

Just loved the Fleshlight comment. I’m guessing half of the people who didn’t know are going to search anyway. Great video BTW Will

I absolutely adored the olive colour shown in the thumbnail. Tesla gave no interesting colour selection.

Xiaomi doesn't have FSD or the data you need for FSD. Tesla is the safest car on the road. Printers are the cars and FSD is the ink. Jeannine

OK, long as the electronic bits are not proprietary. Xiaomi can charge whatever they want if they are the sole source.

No in Apple terms Max refers to the screen size being the biggest screen. The Pro is the model
Lets wait until the company has sold a few cars and is more established
And physical buttons on the steering wheel, it turns out, might not be so expensive, eh, VW?
