When my mother and I visited Japan, visiting one Ichiran was like very high on my list. Unlike me, my mother can read traditional Chinese/Kanji so she was very confused as to why we were going there. As soon as we entered and she took a look at the vending machine and all these little cubicles, her eyes lightenend up. It was pretty good, there are certainly better Ramen spots in Tokyo or even around Shinjuku where we went, but the experience made it all worthwhile.

I did a solo trip 2 yrs ago and it was excellent. You're doing your research like you should. You'll have a great time. I highly recommend making a personal Google map to mark all the places you plan to see. That way you don't waste time figuring out trains, addresses, and such. It will tell you how to walk to the station, which train to take, and how much yen it is.
That looks great! On top of it, it is perfect for those "I do not want to speak with anyone" days but I can still go out and enjoy a nice meal. I can just say "Thank you." at the end and I am done!
Ichiran offers a unique experience. Other ramen shops, not particularly catering to foreigners, are also very good too. Japanese people enjoy the differences. Because of the competition, most are good. It comes down to what kind of soup base you like. I personally don't prefer chicken base. When I am very tired after a long hike, I go for pork. On a regular day, I prefer fish (niboshi) base.

@@rosaliagutierrezperez6036 Yeah, I love in the Caribbean and here they serve and leave you alone. It's the best. I love that kind of service.

This was one of the recommended food places to visit when my family and I went to Japan. They have, by far, one of the best ramen I've ever tasted and the service is also fast so accommodating. I'd go back there once I visit again :)

I’m an introvert but enjoy socializing, mainly because when I was younger I could never do that. Socializing still sucks the living out of me though. 1 hour and I’ll pass out 😅 I feel like this is the perfect place for me since when I eat I get this feeling of embarrassment when people are around me.
ambivert?

No, introvert because the real definition is getting tired by social interactions
@Karen luvs Jesus If it helps, just stuff your mouth with food the whole time. Works for me.

Please keep posting these kind of videos, exploring unique restaurants, hotels, shops, and attractions in Japan. It has helped stave off my feelings of helplessness of not being able to return to Japan this year due to the current global situation.

Haha ikr, another illegal move is me mowing down on a group of pedestrians in my 1989 acura legend coupe on the night of January the 13th, 2009. Seriously injuring 19 and tragically killing 3, after my vehicular homicide I was then given 3 life sentences in which before I was given them I left the country and have been on the run. I actually prefer the old circular bowl instead of this rectangular one
The circular bowl is still used at the original ichiran reataurants, where they serve the pork versions
I Will Always Travel for Food actually - for months now the jubako style box (rectangle) has been used in all the locations in nyc (they serve pork) :( so maybe just overseas? I really prefer the round bowl as well.
@@mmm_inxy Well yea, why would locations in NYC be considered as any of the "original Ichiran restaurants"?
@@IWillAlwaysTravelforFood I didint know that.. I ate the one with the bowl with pork of course. So if u eat from this means its non pork type? That's how it differentiate itself? I just thought its a new style.

Ramen is always a comforting dish for me. It's nice that you can be relaxed and eat in privacy even in a crowded shop. Convenient, quick, no-fuss, and delicious! 👍
Scriptor13 And unhealthy! But delicious lol
Who cares if its healthy or not i'd rather die quickly than eat healthy and tasteless food (compared to unhealthy food) for the rest of my life
Perfect. It eliminates the feeling of people watching you when you eat. I hate that feeling, you look up for moment and spot someone staring in your direction, then they suddenly look away. I know they’re watching dammit, I’m not paranoid!

I’m a new subscriber and plan to do a solo trip to Japan. I’m very intimidated and nervous but your videos help so much. Looking forward to binge watching your older ones. I’ve got a lot of time on my hands suddenly. 🙂
You'll love Japan! I'm heading there for a solo ski trip in January. When are you going and what cities do you plan on visiting?

Hi
some people are talking about introverts in the comments. But I just wanna say that I saw other videos where places like this would be packed with people. And I enjoy watching this video more because its empty and quiet. So you can just focus on listening to the ambient "diner sounds". That's why I watch these videos, because they are just pleasant to watch and listen to.
