The owner reminded me of an old friend, he used to cook burritos, tortas and hamburgers a few streets from where i lived, he had the same charisma as the owner from the video, sadly he passed away in 2016.. honestly i cried a bit while watching this

We went to see him last year. It was difficult to secure a table in his restaurant because it's in high demand. The food is expensive but it's so worth it. Very yummy! I had the omurice and croquette
Although I can't understand what he's saying. Going by his actions and the tone of his voice. This is a man who has put in a lot of effort into perfecting his craft to the point where he can do all of this without breaking a sweat and enjoys every moment of what he does for a living.

This man is so sweet. I have met him when going to Kyoto and his omurice is amazing, and it was a good price! Not too expensive either! He was so bouncy and his personality made me smile the whole time, talking to us while we were waiting, 10/10!!
Are we not going to talk about his arm strength though? He must be in his mid 70’s by now i remember watching him when I was about 18 or 19, I’m 29 now. Good to see him still going strong 💪

I am from South India. Once when I went to New Delhi, I got into a minor argument with a Delhite. I couldn't get a single word he said (in Hindi), but somehow I sensed that I could not trust him with my life. I have had many such experiences with people who speak Hindi, Marathi and Punjabi at home. Though India is politically one country, the mindset divides the people almost horizontally.

It does not matter whether the student is Hindu or Christian or Muslim. I come from a Hindu family. My father and grandfather got very angry about this. He said," It is the duty of every Christian to spread his religion as advised by Jesus." My parents went and spoke to the parents of my classmates to gather support against the school management. Muslim parents decided to send their kid to a school run by Muslims. The reason, "We want our kid to become a devoted Muslim and not a devoted Christian." Middle class was side lined. That was another big story. My point is that people 'living harmoniously in India' means tolerating each other. Also not confronting each other for any reason. We all end up associating ONLY with people who share our point of view. India will NEVER change.

You need reservation ahead of time. They were fully booked the few days we were there.
Agree with jing jing, try to reserve a place in advance. fyi, I failed to get any slots 2 weeks prior to my Feb trip back then, so visited Cafe CHAM as an alternative for omurice (which was also great place, but sadly closed down in August..)

That’s how you can tell just how fine the curds in the eggs have become where it splits open through just the force from being whipped from the pan, no knife needed. Not to say that splitting the omelette open with the knife isn’t beautiful itself

This man is a truly gifted chef who has taken food preparation to a level beyond the scope of the average person. To me, he is not just a chef he is an artist creating masterpieces, for all of us to enjoy and savor. He is every much an artist using many different ingredients that he combines together with oils and butters. Heated to perfection as he flips and tosses, everything into the air. Bringing a mixture of joy together. I can only say this, I am sure anyone that has been to this particular restaurant will not only leave astonished by this man, they will remember this great chef forever!

It never stops being amazing to me how the chef has mastered omurice. To consistently get it at that texture with no timers, just eyeballing and smelling his food is god damn impressive. I have failed at making this many times

It”s impressive to watch an exuberant chef working. His fried rice, his technique and his end product is really over the top. Beautiful fried rice, perfect eggs covered with brown sauce, what’s there not to love.
Omurice man is such a legend. If I ever get to Japan, I will make it the focal point of my trip to get to his restaurant. Live long and prosper 🖖
