I missed out on the HISS tank campaign but I am definitely gonna be backing this one. The sculpt looks amazing, it should be easier to find a place to display, and having Wild Bill is gonna be great.
My only concern about them having Doc is that Hasbro has lent out the licensing for Doc to Super 7. It's unknown if that would propose an issue or not.
Really awesome perspective on it all and I agree with everything you said about it man. Yeah, I'm backing it too. I backed the Skystriker and Proton Pack, just one of each, and even though this is a brilliant investment for sure, I'm likely still only grabbing one, but I do have time to change my mind if so. I'm the same way as you about Classified. I actually sold all of mine because it was getting ridiculous, but I was in Walmart the other day and saw Storm Shadow in the original style card. Well flashbacks came to me of begging my aunt to buy me Storm Shadow as a kid when I actually saw one in the store. It was a miracle but I knew she had no obligation to spend her money on me. Well... it was pretty heartbreaking to leave it behind, but on a positive note, some other kid would have gotten it and been happy! As far as the Dragonfly, I was in love with it, but never had one. I wanted one, but they kept on releasing new vehicles and my dad was grabbing me and my brother a lot, but he never grabbed me the only one I really wanted (I did have a Skystriker, so don't feel too badly for me). Well, Nick down the street had one, but he was one of those kids that had a lot of cool stuff, like an Atari, but he never wanted to share or play nice. He's rich AF now and married the nicest girl from school, so at least he picked the right girl, but I doubt he ever learned how to share or play fair. All that said, you can see why I want this thing now. I always wanted one of these. Yo Joe!
I will be backing. The dragonfly was such a huge upgrade from the first wave of vehicles. I also loved the winch on the original. Airborne has to be the next figure. Hit and Run or craxylegs could be the 4th figure but Doc is a good choice.
I had 2 versions of the original Dragon Fly helicopter growing up one the Tiger Force variant and the Street Fighter version. This new version incorporates elements from the AH-1G Huey Cobra & AH-1J Sea Cobra with the rounded nose, but the twin engines found on both the AH-1W Super Cobra & AH-1Z Viper, and lastly the wing setup found only on the AH-1Z Viper. Also only the AH-1G through AH-1W has two blades with the AH-1Z having 4, and the stabilizers are in the same location found on the AH-1G through AH-1W as well.
Wow, you know your helicopters. You could have been a consultant on this for Hasbro. I do like the 2 blade over the 4 blade simple for storage and display. Thanks for all the info. Amazing, isn't it, that the cobra is still in use today? Upgrade, refits, improvements and they keep that original design going.
@@ActionRobotPunch thanks the real reason why the Viper has 4 blades is because of the fact it’s bearingless, and composite, plus it makes for easier storage onto ships for the Marines, this same rotor system is also used on the UH-1Y Venom aka the Super Huey. The blades do fold in real life and it’s easier for maintenance too as both the Cobra & Huey share the same components as each other Bell themselves developed this with their H-1 Upgrade program in the 90’s.
concerns now I wish hasbro would address similar to sentinel knees: - chopper feet if it's strong enough to support w/o the clear stand - they love paying homage to the past, can they include that spinning rotors at the press of a button like the og did? - another great idea you pointed w/ the payload line to not be detachable and be located at the center of the vehicle I think w/ those additions, that would make it a banger for value, as it is now, it's just a museum piece.
It'd be great if they're still changing things up but I'd be surprised if they really alter anything at this point. If could even just add an attach point for the winch that was under the fuselage, that'd be great but would probably interfere with the stand. I'm hopeful it'll be pretty tough and playable. The new skystriker is a great toy. Good plastic and tough. Thanks for watching.
Yeah me too. It's a really great logo, but I guess they're going with the more hard edge modern style to differentiate the classifieds. Thanks for watching.
Only Joe videos on your channel? Good for you. I’ll buy the dragonfly, but I wish they’d have done a Wolverine or Killer Whale simply because I had those as a kid. But I don’t mind another huge piece of plastic I’ll have to put in storage and no one will want to buy in 20 years when we all have implants.. 🎉
Haha, yes. Bury me with my dragonfly! LOL And I do have non-Gi Joe stuff on my channel but it's mostly Joe. I really got into modding and fixing Joe vehicles and it's been fun posting how-to videos and such. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
Thanks. I'm just getting one. I don't need a second giant box taking up room in my basement. Ask me how I know....skystriker box number 2...just sitting there :) Thanks for watching.
Hahaha. Good point. Do even normal parachutes jump out of helicopters? Maybe out the back of a sea king or something but not off the skids of a cobra. BUT this is Gi Joe and they are the best. Thanks for watching.
so far, we are only getting 1 figure. If we even hit Tier 1 to get a second figure would be a bliss. Lucky enough, if we hit Tier 2... that might be a miracle
It surprised me.. The Price. Actually better than I had figured. Kinda feels like the his was too expensive considering the size. I hope this leads us to a proper X-Wing at some point or Skystriker. Also has me thinking a WHALE is not off the table, however it may need it's own table. ;)
Wow a classified whale! I've seen people float that idea but imagine the space it'd take up? No display stand for that toy. Maybe it could have a handle on the side like a suitcase and open up to store all your figures? Now I want to make one. Thanks for watching.
Needs spinning blades and a tail rotor for the price. The also blew a chance to have a sensor pod like you said. This would have been a good spot for a search light or other electronics like running lights.
On the stretch goal figures, if you look closely, the names and specialties are "XXXXXXXXXXXX". The first stretch figure has 13 Xs for the name of the figure. I've been going through the lists of characters and couldn't come up with one until I watched the video again. Including the space, "DR VANDERMEER" is 13 characters long... Might be crazy, but you never know... Could that mean a Classified Haslab Mass Device in the future?
Oooh interesting. A mass device as a secret unlock? Could that happen? Someone mentioned the idea of the meteors and magnetic attachments from the cartoon.
Honestly the dragonfly was fast and agile so smaller size. The original is a perfect compliment to the larger tomahawk etc. I prefer the originals I have that are not so huge like this one.
I agree, the originals are just perfect. But, I just can't pass up getting a giant version of the Dragonfly! No way it'll be as swoopable or playable as the original but I just have to hold this giant copter in my hands. Thanks for the comment, Adam.
Def gonna backthis one but its kinda weird theyre giving it a vietnam paint scheme as it takes more from the modern marines ah1 viper which has a gray scheme Still pretty cool that were getting a modern interpretation of this classic toy
I think it's green because it's considered an army helicopter for Gi Joe. So it's more matching an apache look. I believe the marines use that grey paint for better camo with the ocean or being at sea? It's exciting to hear all the people backing it.
From what i know the paint scheme is accurate to the time period, being the 80s army helicopter, but the dragonfly is more accurate to the modern marines ah1 viper as it has the horizontal exhausts and sidewinder mounts but excludes the nose mounted helmet cam system. Either way its still pretty cool nonthless my only gripe is the tail is missing what i presume to be the shaft linked powered thruster behind the v tail that the original dragonfly toy desgin had. (Again im a crew cheif for jets, not helos, but that would make the dragonfly a combat capable gyrocopter instead of a helicopter)
@@fighterbrony They actually thought of that. In the video the hasbro designer removes the end tail piece, which looks like screen mesh, and inside is a turbine type thruster that is directed by the removeable piece. @@ActionRobotPunch Thanks for linking the vid, this just popped up in my recomended and i havent seen anything related til now. So this is definitley a NOTAR (no tail rotor) system seeing as it only has one ehaust hole on the thruster cover, instead of the shrouded fandblade tail thruster of the original dragonfly. Yeah I think Crazylegs is a contender for sure. I've seen lots of people mentioning him. As for the HAVOC, if that had been the haslab, I don't think I'd have backed it. Collecting is so personal and subjective and I've never had a HAVOC. I never had one when I was younger so there's no attachment there for me and design wise I find that vehicle to be sort of sci-fi. But I think Hasbro was smart with their choice and they know that even non-Joe collectors will get a 6" vehicle for their marvel legends or other figures if it's right and I'm sure there's demand for a nice scale helicopter. A little paint and you have a great custom vehicle for photos or dios. I am excited to have this dragonfly shoot down the trouble bubble I have on order :)
@@cptoyscollection No I didn’t back it. I thought it was cool but I’m not a huge hiss tank fan but also I’m always conflicted about buying classified…and it’d just sit somewhere in my house. The 4” I get out, play with my kids and make videos. So I passed. But I’m getting the dragonfly 😁 I just can’t pass it up. Maybe hang it in my office. Did you get one?
It was 7,777 when I checked, last night. I would not be surprised to see Ripcord unlocked today. Airborne I could see. I doubt we’d see Maverick, so maybe Skydive? I’d rather have my Doc at retail, as I’m already missing out on my SnowJob. 🤬🤬 The lights are news to me, I saw a pic of the green panels, last night, assumed they were glow-in-dark or some dayglo paint app. I don’t need useless electronics. 🙄
Ha, yeah I'll probably light up that dashboard a couple of times and then remove the batteries so they don't corrode the toy. Never use it again. But I can't imagine that adds much to the cost. LEDs are SO cheap. Good point about Doc at retail. Maybe they'll make him a night force Doc and then release the brown outfit for general release.
Just using general deductive patterns, the GIJOE team is all about nostalgia. The Dragonfly and Wild Bill are part of a specific era of Joe. I suspect that Airborne is a most definite inclusion as one of the unlockable tiers. After all, he was not only pictured in the original packaging, and had his name on the side of the cockpit, but also his designation as Helicopter Assault Trooper. I think they didn't make him Tier One because they wanted to use Airborne as leverage in case the funding snags or slows down. Which leaves the next hidden unlockable character. I think Doc is a VERY strong suggestion, but because we're getting Ripcord, it suggests other airman such as Crazy Legs or Freefall. As of this typing, they're 140 away from funding. I bet by the end of the day, it'll fully fund. I suspect when it does, they might announce another of the figures and that will be the clue that lets us know what direction they're going.
Thats the Problem with this line Form the Start. They Made the figs to big and now every vehicles costs a bazzilion Dollars and Needs an castle to storage the hole stuff.
I'm sure there are reasons they did it. Probably easier to have a standalone mechanism that isn't integrated into the shape of the fuselage...but maybe they could have attached it there, on the centerline? I am really glad we're getting a winch that works. Thanks for watching.
Yeah, just something that looks off to me. The nose on the vintage one is so ingrained in my mind it’s hard to get past the change. Hope I didn’t mess it up for you. Thanks watching.
Think about how many pieces go into a set of tank tracks and how long they take to put together. RC tracks are pricey. A helicopter just has a rotorblade...just a couple pieces of plastic. Way simpler.
Yeah me too. If they're trying to modernize the dragonfly, give it some sensors like an apache. Maybe they could add some to the turret? Thanks for watching.
My issue with the thing is that those forward-firing canons are stupid. There's no way those canons are firing in their forward thrust vector, unlike a jet. This isn't that one Russian chopper with counter-rotating rotors that keep the chopper flat in forward flight. It also has a chin gun and a wing boom gun. What the hell is the point of the forward-firing guns? The other (HUGE PROBLEM) is that there is no counter-rotating rotors, tail rotor, or rear thrust nozzle. That thing isn't even launching off of the ground. 😂 Just putting 2 wings on the tail doesn't mean it's going to counteract the main rotor. 😂😂 That thing will get ab inch of the ground and then it will turn into a merry-go-round of death as spins and explodes. 😂😂 Jesus, it's another Hasbro fail for me. Does no one there pay attention to details like Would this fly? This is just like Outback's dual optic rifle and Big Ben's stupid double-barreled AR. Does anyone at Hasbro have any basic working knowledge of how machines and/or military weapons work? And then that price is too much if you ask me. But if you got the money for it I guess it's ok if you can see past what I've already mentioned. I sure as hell can't. How hard is it to put a tail rotor on it? Especially at THAT price!
There's a rear thruster at the end of the tail, with a swiveling (and removable) directional cover. They show it off in the promo video while covering the tail features.
The rocket pods are a real thing and those can't be aimed. Like a bullet they're unguided so one could say that they work the same way...line up the copter and fire away. And yeah, that ducted fan vector thrust thing in the back is meant to counter the rotation. The original toy had a similar setup and it's part of the iconic look so I'm glad they didn't add a prop at the end of the tail. Thanks for watching.
Fixed cannons on helicopters have been around for a long time... As far as I know, they were always part of an armament package that could be swapped out for something else, depending on the mission.
I dig the Haslabs because they're fun to follow and get excited about being offered a toy we've never seen or had before. This is the BIGGEST helicopter toy I'm ever going to see in my life and I'm really glad they're making it. Can't wait to see my youngest trying to hold it LOL
I like the look of the new Dragonfly, I loved the Haslab HISS tank too.. but I'm only collecting o-rings and a handful of the 4" figures. However, I think it says a lot when a company like Hasblo lies. They said they were relaunching the o-ring line, then made only a few things then faded off without any other word about them. That's one crappy relaunch. No hype, no anything! They made two transformer cross-overs that seemed dumb to me and overpriced, then 3x of the 2-pack figure sets which they felt charging TWENTY DOLLARS EACH O-RING FIGURE for was somehow reasonable... oh and The Cobra Stinger, which I wanted but have never seen actually in-stock on their website.. EVER. - I'm not paying scalpers.. I'd rather just get the original one if that's the only option.
I'm also all in on the o-ring scale. I have some classified. Did you back the skystriker? That was a pretty awesome box to open. I'm not sure Hasbro knows what to do with O-ring now...I think they're keeping silent because they weren't seeing the sales they wanted but don't want to say it's not being supported anymore. They might do some more o-rings at some point. It looks like retail didn't want anymore of them since they're only available on their website now. It's a bummer but many collectors have moved to the larger scale.
@@ActionRobotPunch Yes, I bought TWO of the Haslab Skystrikers. I'm happy with it. It seems 10x better than the original one I had. Also note, if that HISS tank and Dragonfly came out for O-rings, I would definitely Buy them!! Maybe even a few! But I'm not collecting another line.. I don't think their 6" figures are that great. I feel o-rings are the right size.. actually mask figures might be the right size, for vehicles/playset lines, but i still prefer o-rings 3.75".. it works reasonably well for people that like figures, AND the vehicles/playsets. I think Hasbro was disappointed that they couldn't price gouge enough people with the few new O-rings they put out for mostly ridiculous prices. So now they are focusing on Classified, because people will pay big money for those, apparently. It's all about greed and how much they can charge people and get away with it, for as little work as possible. However they should still put out a statement about the O-ring Relaunch... was that it? Are they canceling it? Is there more to come? They need to say SOMETHNG.

Nice breakdown and good points. And it just funded! I hope you're right and we get an update. Thanks for watching.
Thats the Problem with this line Form the Start. They Made the figs to big and now every vehicles costs a bazzilion Dollars and Needs an castle to storage the hole stuff.
Yeah probably can’t get much bigger than this. Have you seen the black series tie fighter?
The external winch is a BAD IDEA. Like you said it would canter the entire chassis when carrying something. Lazy engineers.
I'm sure there are reasons they did it. Probably easier to have a standalone mechanism that isn't integrated into the shape of the fuselage...but maybe they could have attached it there, on the centerline? I am really glad we're getting a winch that works. Thanks for watching.
The pointed nose bugs me now that you pointed it out!! So ugly! Too late now to complain!
Yeah, just something that looks off to me. The nose on the vintage one is so ingrained in my mind it’s hard to get past the change. Hope I didn’t mess it up for you. Thanks watching.
How is this $25 cheaper than the tank
Think about how many pieces go into a set of tank tracks and how long they take to put together. RC tracks are pricey. A helicopter just has a rotorblade...just a couple pieces of plastic. Way simpler.
@@ActionRobotPunch Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining about it being cheaper lol. Just seemed like a pretty good price for the size.
I really wanted to back it, but all-in it's going to cost north of $500+ Canadian, and I just can't justify that kind of money for a toy helicopter.
Bummer. Maybe you can pick one up down the road at some point.
$485 Canadian, all in.
Who's buying a Mansion just to fit the Classified vehicles?
LOL No mansion for me but I am constructing a garage to house future Haslabs :)
I would like some sensors up front
Yeah me too. If they're trying to modernize the dragonfly, give it some sensors like an apache. Maybe they could add some to the turret? Thanks for watching.
im not into classified. i would have prefered a whale in 3 3/4 inch
Yeah something o-ring scale would make me happier. Thanks for watching.
That nose needs to be blunt not pointed
Yeah I’m torn on that. I might 3d print an optional nose replacement. But the pointed look is growing on me.
Jesus, it's another Hasbro fail for me.
I mean it's a toy
The rocket pods are a real thing and those can't be aimed. Like a bullet they're unguided so one could say that they work the same way...line up the copter and fire away. And yeah, that ducted fan vector thrust thing in the back is meant to counter the rotation. The original toy had a similar setup and it's part of the iconic look so I'm glad they didn't add a prop at the end of the tail. Thanks for watching.
Fixed cannons on helicopters have been around for a long time... As far as I know, they were always part of an armament package that could be swapped out for something else, depending on the mission.
More corporate greed
You sound fun
@@williamwallace9427 thats got nothiing to do with anything.....i recognise corporate bs and greed when i see it.
I dig the Haslabs because they're fun to follow and get excited about being offered a toy we've never seen or had before. This is the BIGGEST helicopter toy I'm ever going to see in my life and I'm really glad they're making it. Can't wait to see my youngest trying to hold it LOL
Question for you where can I get these Haslab products
Sure, here's a link hasbropulse.com/collections/haslab/products/g-i-joe-classified-series-g-i-joe-assault-copter-dragonfly-xh-1
@@ActionRobotPunch thank you 😊
I like the look of the new Dragonfly, I loved the Haslab HISS tank too.. but I'm only collecting o-rings and a handful of the 4" figures.
