There are a lot of fishing channels out now, but GIDO’s is on its own level. Fishing these same spots from a boat wouldn’t be near as much fun to watch. Love your channel. Greatest campsites on the internet. When I was a young man I caught a 54lb king salmon off the northern California coast. I grew up in Eureka. Some of the best fishing. Saw the bird. When I was a kid we would go to the fishing docks, remove the hooks and tie on an anchovy. The seagulls would grab it and the game was on. We never hurt a seagull. When your ten or eleven yrs. old it was fun. Thanks for the rush. Jerry

My favorite channel, keep staying safe and doing what not many people would do, it's a blast watching this. You sure do put the work in. The best fishing venues, catch and cooks on ledges hovering above dangerous rocks and churning currents. Great job, I think you should have double the subscribers based on what I have seen from some others. A big fan from Massachusetts. I am 64, I do fish saltwater from the kayak, no cliffs though!

Gido, hearing you say, "kind of need a pillow", sure reminded me of fishing on the Port Aransas, Texas, north jetty for big sharks almost 60 years ago. Huge blocks of granite had concrete poured on to hold them together and made a somewhat rough cap, that could be washed over by sudden wind driven waves. Watching the night sky was amazing a half mile out in the Gulf, but uncomfortable with a bag of cable shark leaders for a pillow..
But memories you never forget.😃 greetings and best wishes from Queensland Australia mate😃😃 I love fishing off the rocks or off the rock walls that we have for our river mouths. I also love my fourteen foot kayak.
I seldom see people fishing for sharks off the jetties now, usually it's reds, jacks, king fish or bull reds. I could swear I've seen big tarpon off the Isla Blanca jetties, but I've never seen anybody put up footage of catches. Anyway, I would have love to fis the Texas coast 60 years ago, I can't imagine how much aquatic life their was. Thank you for posting this memory, I was born in Texas and have alot of beautiful memories of going to the beach.
I have many memories of rough camping and fishing trips as a kid. Now I can't imagine the fun of sleeping directly on the sand of a Texas beach with a small driftwood fire.

If I lived in your part of the planet, I’d be pestering you to tag along. I can imagine there would be many who would.
Fishing those locations from boat can be a real challenge, and I can never relax. When I say challenging, it’s a constant battle, and you need a good sized boat. You can’t anchor, you have to leave your motors running. If anything goes wrong your on the rocks in a minute. So for me it’s constant high tension fishing, and not the good kind.

Superduper video. I fell out of bed 2 nights ago, just a 28 inch drop and all I got was a split lip. Told my son and daughter in law that I said something to my better half and got deservedly smacked for it. That is my story and I am sticking to it!!! When I used to live in Maine back in 2003 to 2011, we had similar cliff but not as steep like this but back then we caught nothing but stripers. Good catch by the way my guy and be safe.

Another killer vid - the fishing gets me amped, plus the camping/gear side as well... though I'm no good with heights. I used to work at mountain designs (back before the corporate takeover destroyed it) so am a gear nerd, though anyone that came in for climbing expertise I'd hand over to one of the actual climbers amongst us staffers.
What blows my mind though is not only are you fishing, & doing it precariously from a tiny ledge (or cave/remote island etc), you're also stuffing around with all the camera gear to bring us these vids.

Takes some stones to clamber over the precipitous edge and fish / sleep overnight...just perched on the flimsiest bits of paraphernalia, tied to a rock face with nothing below but the sea spray atop the ocean deep. The wildlife going about its business was a hoot: the dolphins, the sharks, those black birds that also appeared to 'fly' underwater - simply amazing! I was looking forward to the night time view of the heavens with stars aplenty...but, didn't happen; so, if you've got a shot of that, please post it! Stay safe and mind how you go! Cheers!
