Gido operates out of Albany 4hr south of Perth. Some awesome rock fishing down the south coast like Gido shows. Closer to Perth fishing like this doesn't exist at least NSW has alot of ledge fishing opportunities for tuna and mackerel.

I heard about the mythical blue groper as a kid, 60+ years ago. I have bait fished in Albany waters and surrounds several times but never saw one or caught one. I am in awe each time you pull one onto the rocks with such ease and frequency! Blackbums on the other hand I've caught plenty! I love to eat them straight from theocean, in butter with garlic and onion! Panko's a new way for me to try! Always a pleasure to watch your adventures, even the super long ones!

Great video. It brought back lots of very happy memories of my younger days. But I was just wondering if you have ever tried using the "Mirage Rock Hopper" boots. They are rubber booties with tungsten spikes embedded in the soles. You can walk on just about any surface and there is little to no chance of slipping.

@Gido, welcome back mate, another cracking fishing spot and loads of fun. Went beach fishing on Saturday morning on the weekend. Got some sand whiting on light tackle (the surf caster lasted all of about 4 casts before i packed it back up) good fun tbh. I did hear some distressing rumours that people are running up and down the beaches south of Perth with hauling nets catching everything in the middle of the nigth, meaning we are missing out on catching these fish ourselves. Heading to the same spot tonight as tide is high around 9pm. Tight Lines mate.

Hi Gido, thanks for another great video. What is your seawater temperature there at the moment, and what does it drop to in winter? Here in NSW the targeting and catching/keeping of blue groper has just been banned. I suspect it is a knee jerk reaction by some non-marine biologist type person in the DPI in response to recent (very unfortunate and stupid), spearing of them. (Go figure!) Spearing them here has been banned for decades and every diver I speak to says they are plentiful.

I'm building a small 14 foot light weight composite dinghy exactly for this type of fishing/camping and I'm gonna get a pair of those wheels, makes life so much easier and easier on the boat. Although plastic boats handle it better still makes it easier to move

Hi Gido. Love what you've done. Can't add much except one tiny bit of help. Noticed at the end the Merc wouldn't start until 3rd pull so being a 2 stroke, don't muck around with mineral based mixing oils.... use a good quality synthetic 2 stroke oil. Will 'cold start' every time with 1st attempt. For your own safety and wellbeing, mate. We all want you back!
