Those kingies (called yellow tail in southern California) are liked underwater bullets. I watch many fishing programs and your unpretentious style is the best. Most probably would disagree but I would like to see another laid back family fishing episode because fishing, camping etc. while filming and cooking with kids can be more stressful than herding cats or catching big kingies fly fishing.

My favorite game fish ever. They will always try to go to the rocks or kelp. We call them yellowtail on the Westcoast USA. Good job.

You're as rough as guts mate. Love your work!! I've been fishing the stones all my life on the East coast (mainly groper and pigs these days) and thought I'd done some goat tracks but you make them look like the kids' playground at the local park. Glad I discovered your channel.
He may appear rough as guts but you will notice that every step he takes, every decision he makes is based on safety even though what he does is obviously risky.

@@PetraKann agreed. It's an old joke/compliment that we used growing up to show respect for people. Kind of an in joke that probably missed its mark here. The man has so much technical knowledge and expertise it's frightening.

Gido is actually "rough as guts" - that's how he comes across with his mannerisms and habits.
I just cant imagine him being carefree and blase when he is fishing off a ledge or roping down a cliff.
Very impressive channel - hope Gido stays with us for a while and doesnt become trapped in ever increasing danger in his fishing videos.

Those Kings are found pretty much worldwide. Kingey to you. Yellowtail in Ca, and Rainbow Runner on the Atlantic coast of the U.S.A. and Carribean.
Along with good sport and good eating they make beautiful trolling baits for Marlin. My personal best Black, 1368 lbs, was caught on a Kingey off Lizard Island on the GBR. Also have caught numerous Blue Marin in the Bahamas on Rainbow Runners (Kingeys).
They are a fish of many uses.

Great stuff, Gido! Amazing effort even getting onto that island! I have a great mate who did his early schooling (by radio correspondence) on the island, while his father was "the keeper".
The incredible stories he told of skipping lessons in favour of blue groper fishing. Wow. The place must be crawling with blues now.

yep heaps of groper there now, it would get some fishing pressure but it's remote enough that it wouldn't be much. Amazing place I will have to return one day

Gido check out a product called Flip Rocks sandals. I fish rock ledges, jetty rocks, rock piles just off the shore all very slippery. For the summer these do the trick.
