      He reacts too slowly. There is a lot of down time here for you to get your power up and attack. The first game he's standing still much less. Rewatching the first fight, Spike shoots every literal 2 seconds. Here it takes 4 seconds or so. Double the time for you to collect powerups and line up shots. Even with the old camera it would still be a cakewake.

    Left, Right, Left, Right, R1, R1, R1, R1, Square

    • @matthewkuscienko4616
      @matthewkuscienko4616 4 года назад +1

      I actually think Ripto is harder than Gulp, personally. It's hard to hit him during his first phase with 2 of the 3 power ups you can get (the blue super charge and the green bombs, respectively), and his attacks are harder to dodge as well. Gulp really only has one attack I really find difficult to avoid (namely the attack he does after eating a bomb), plus if there are missiles, you can easily cheese him by either knocking a silver barrel into him before shooting him (with the missile in your mouth), or, if you let him eat one, you can take advantage of their homing capabilities once fired to make it hit him instead. On a side note, he mentioned that it is possible to hurt yourself when attacking him with a silver barrel, but this actually seems to apply to any attack you can use to damage him if you're too close when it connects.

    Personally, I found Gulp harder than Ripto. Even after I gave up on getting the skill point for not getting hit, he took me several tries while Ripto I beat in one. Otherwise I agree with what you said for the difficulty of the bosses, more or less
    However, what you said at the end about the other, actually difficult parts... I actually had no issue with those. Guiding the alchemist was annoying because he's an idiot that took the long way to get there, but it wasn't difficult. The bomb guiding was only more annoying because of the dialog. And I beat Bentley's boxing matches first try, even getting the skill point without trying. Almost managed to win in one round even, though there were some annoyances with it. I found Gnasty Gnorc to be tougher than that challenge (I kept crashing into walls both while chasing the key thieves and Gnasty himself), though that's not saying much as that was pretty easy still

In the original they are easy but because of the way Spyro handles in free flight, it's like piloting a flying shopping cart. Spyro's turning is HORRIBLE, top that off with the fact that most of the time you need to hit those blue stars to boost ahead of the competitors in each race, makes it so annoying
      Not just that though but FUCK THE SKATEBOARD QUESTS! I wish Spyro 3 remake had more time to cook. The skateboard is so glitchy and TOO responsive. The original did it better and was more forgiving. The reignited version requires ABSOLUTE PRECISION

    No lie, the bosses really needed some major reworking in Spyro 3. Unfortunately, Spyro 3 got the short end of the stick when it came to the remake treatment, it really needed more time because of how much of a glitchy mess it is (seriously, fuck those Speedway races and fuck those skateboard quests).
    I would still say though for me that Dr. Shemp is still the hardest boss of the original Spyro 1 bosses in the remake. That said, Spyo 2 bosses with the exception of Crush definately got the biggest buffs. Crush is still a cakewalk but Gulp.....as someone that played the original games religiously, I expected the fight to go about the same...boy was I in for a rude awakening when it turns out they gave Gulp the biggest buff at all. He runs faster and his attacks literally hone in on you. LEAGUES harder than the original. I lost over half of my lives I had accumulated just trying to beat him. It was an incredibly frustrating experience. I didn't even bother with the two skill points until after I got the permanent superflame powerup. Ripto at least was still a challenge. No where near as frustrating as Gulp but still a very decent and fun fight.

    Spyro is like the Heavyweight king of easy shit that is supposed to be hard and hard shit that is supposed to be easy. "Wow that level was fun!" *missing one gem*

    I know Spike suffered from a huge nerf but Bluto got nerfed ever harder, he used to be such a fun challenge and now he dies in 10 seconds

    Nah Gulp is the worst. Going back and killing him with those fireballs to get that achievement was the most cathartic thing I've ever experienced.

    Can I just take a quick moment to compliment your voice? It's incredible, and it makes your videos more of experiences than joke-filled gameplay montages and small independent podcasts. I can't pinpoint what it is, but it's familiar. You should become a voice actor and get rich or something.

    honestly hated what they did to spike in this trilogy. his new design is shit compared to the old game and his fight is SO much easier than the old game. two changes i hated in the trilogy was the spike redesign and the censorship (no guns and changing bombos name).

    I perfectly agree with this list but only because I can't help but try to perfect each boss first time so I get clipped by FUCKING GULP AND RIPTO BECAUSE THEY LEAD THEIR SHOTS IN SUCH A WAY I KEEP GETTING HIT BY THE FIRST SHOT I WAS TRYING TO JUKE!

    Was so excited for Spike in the remaster.
    I was so disappointed. I was literally mentally preparing myself to get my ass kicked, it was so baaad.
    Also i noticed the changes ln Gnasty, they buffed his speed in the first chase. You can barely keep up with him, i was all up his ass in the original game. And in the second chase its reversed, he gets to the end so quick its ridiculous, in the original the jumps while charging were weak, you dont jump as high as in the remaster, you could only charge jump the first two platforms, the others had to be done normally.
