WELCOME TO SEASON 5 OF FTB FILM STUDY WITH COACH NICK CODUTTI!
Against Maryland, in what probably will be his final regular season game in Beaver Stadium, Penn State junior Defensive End Abdul Carter registered a team-best six total tackles and two sacks in a no-doubter 44-7 victory over the Terps.
Coach Codutti, who profiled Carter back in March 2024 shortly after Nittany Lions coaches announced his move from OLB to DE, illustrates the technical growth seen in No. 11 as an on-ball defender and how the Big Ten's sack leader truly mastered his craft by sanding smooth many of the rough areas of his overall game -- timing, hand placement, and hiding his chest from OL strikes.
Penn State fans: Be sure to like, subscribe and comment below! NEW FTB FILM STUDY VIDS post weekly and will run through the end of the season!

Codutti's scout of Dan Lanning's MINT defensive front will be out late Wed night/Thursday morning. Friend of the Blog @LandonTengwall58 will be doing a film study on the Ducks offense mid-week. Here's a link to Landon's channel: www.youtube.com/@LandonTengwall58

Awesome breakdown as always! The growth Carter has shown in such a short time is absolutely amazing and we really need to give coach Barnes a shout out for his role in his development. My fingers are crossed that Carter becomes a Carolina Panther in April 🤞

You’re awesome Coach as an instructor of the game we love. These vids are addicting in bringing a joy to watching these skilled players perform at a hi level.
At about 10:20 discussing the Chip, the ref was right there to detect holding which I suspect Abdul was a victim to most of the season that went undetected and seldom called.

Will I ever get over not seeing Micah Parsons at edge for his junior season? Probably not. But at least we get treated to Abdul Carter.

That whole 2020 season was supposed to be set up like this season...Top 5 recruiting class (2018) entering its prime third year. We got robbed of it.
