- King Cobra Pose is an advanced yoga posture that is often approached in a way that increases spinal compression. While this may bring your head and feet closer together you run the risk of compressing the intervertebral discs in the spine. Instead of focusing on heat to toes, focus on pulling your spine forward. This is challenging because it requires strength of the back and shoulder muscles.
