    I could spend two years (I can get pretty low already) developing the thigh and hip strength necessary to get to that depth of snake stance. Then I'd just have to break both my ankles to gain the flexibility to maintain root through the transitions. Amazing.
    And his crane! It looks like he could paint with his foot!

      I am a practitioner for many years, but had not seen these moves. As you start working them, your concentration gets sharp, your body struggles, your breathing increases, and there is a wondering sense of calm. As soon as I did the Leopard I was hooked. Yes, it's going to take awhile to get to this level.

    Truly the most beautiful movements. In order to learn, slow down your videos to .5 or .25. I am finding this makes a difference to follow along with the video. wonderful.. don't really understand why there are dislikes.. they must be from martial artists who believe martial arts are for violence and oppression instead of truth and self exploration.

    • @JaskanFactor

      +geneticexpert1 Both the fast and slow deserve exploration, but the slow requires wisdom of patience, which the fighters maybe lacking.People afraid to slow down, are only interested in fast happenings.You exercise spirit when you slow down, exercise body when you speed up, and exercise mind when you endure.

    • @jimkeen7674
      @jimkeen7674 6 лет назад +11

      @Twin Riddle Sadly, I've observed that in many (Americans, at least), age has not brought openness of spirit. The older people I am close to (over age 60) seem so closed in their thoughts and their opinions of the world and others. In them, age seems only to breed bitterness, and in large part has been the catalyst for my own drive to become more open, lest I end up like them. Instead, I've seen that openness most in children, before they let the aged shape their opinions and tell them who not to trust. Thoughts?

    • @tragictransformerelectra3319
      @tragictransformerelectra3319 6 лет назад +2

      @@jimkeen7674 Sadly it is true. I'm one of the few young Americans who wants to learn all martial arts. I recommend anyone who wants to learn martial arts to start with Tai Chi. It's relaxing and it's better to learn balance and coorination first.

      @tragictransformerelectra3319 6 лет назад +2

      There are several reasons why I want to move out of America. Not having an open mind and discrimination is still pervasive. Hate and greed rules America, not it's hard-working people. I wish I can change the country.

    I have watched many 5-animal qigong videos and I must say that this video is exceptional in every way. The subject was well presented by a well-disciplined practitioner.
    Most impressive.
    I never start NYR's, but this year, 2025, I am. And I wanted to start with the ancient & authentic form of Qi-gong.
    Twin friends I practiced forms of martial arts with, in the past, are both gone now. They recently passed, 4 yrs apart. They are responsible for my interest and although I possess a limited understanding of qi-gong, I have a deep respect for these arts and a longing to further educate myself in them.
    Thank you.

    No problem at all, It's I've become more familiar with the country but what's appealing about is that there's always new (old?) things to be discovered and varying customs, art, history and etc. that I just fell in love with the country I've heard so much about. I guess that romantic sense? But I quickly found that China's silently culturally rich and diverse, and a mystery to everyone (even to themselves). You won't find that in the rest of East Asia, so I agree. Hope you manage to and enjoy it

      Irrelevant to go that low. You do what you can do. If you spread your legs a little wider you go lower.

    If one were to mimic the motions as if the video was a mirror would this interfere with the effectiveness of the qigong (eg reversing polarities or causing chi to flow in the wrong direction? Thankyou

    #mark jams wonderful.. don't really understand why there are dislikes.. they must be from martial artists who believe martial arts are for violence and oppression instead of truth and self exploration. @James

    I can come close to doing the Crane. It is a Yoga pose actually. It is also a kata created by Soke Tani; amazing. Crane and Snake are my favorite martial arts animals
