There are things in the universe that does,nt need pigeon holing, comparison, words of explanation. like a film, a song, a movement, a poem, a pic, a dance, to name a few. This video for me is timeless. I will enjoy it as it is. Thank you for sharing.
Wudang Qi Gong performed to perfection. The movements are so smooth and controlled .A real master demonstrating the flow that is the very essence of Daoisim
the chinese belief system does not require perfection as such , as this is also illusion. Strive not the strive.....practice makes permanent never perfection? I am from that heritage.
The crane is definitely the hardest. Requiring very good balance. Love the music. The way the gentleman is dressed in traditional clothing n topknot. He choose a very old spot to preform. All very nicely done! Thank you!
I saw my first Crane today sitting very low @11:51 EST. Caught myself from falling trying to advance and really learned the nature of a very patient progression from one form to another. Thank You Sifu Yuan...
Such an incredible skills and beautiful movement and shapes! I have never seen this style of qi gong before, but I love it! Truly inspiring, thank you!!
I could spend two years (I can get pretty low already) developing the thigh and hip strength necessary to get to that depth of snake stance. Then I'd just have to break both my ankles to gain the flexibility to maintain root through the transitions. Amazing. And his crane! It looks like he could paint with his foot!
I am a practitioner for many years, but had not seen these moves. As you start working them, your concentration gets sharp, your body struggles, your breathing increases, and there is a wondering sense of calm. As soon as I did the Leopard I was hooked. Yes, it's going to take awhile to get to this level.
Truly the most beautiful movements. In order to learn, slow down your videos to .5 or .25. I am finding this makes a difference to follow along with the video. Anyone master the Snake yet?? ha ha These are wonderful poses and high-level difficulty. Thank you so much for recording this and sharing it.
wonderful.. don't really understand why there are dislikes.. they must be from martial artists who believe martial arts are for violence and oppression instead of truth and self exploration.
+geneticexpert1 Both the fast and slow deserve exploration, but the slow requires wisdom of patience, which the fighters maybe lacking.People afraid to slow down, are only interested in fast happenings. You exercise spirit when you slow down, exercise body when you speed up, and exercise mind when you endure.
@Twin Riddle Sadly, I've observed that in many (Americans, at least), age has not brought openness of spirit. The older people I am close to (over age 60) seem so closed in their thoughts and their opinions of the world and others. In them, age seems only to breed bitterness, and in large part has been the catalyst for my own drive to become more open, lest I end up like them. Instead, I've seen that openness most in children, before they let the aged shape their opinions and tell them who not to trust. Thoughts?
@@jimkeen7674 Sadly it is true. I'm one of the few young Americans who wants to learn all martial arts. I recommend anyone who wants to learn martial arts to start with Tai Chi. It's relaxing and it's better to learn balance and coorination first.
There are several reasons why I want to move out of America. Not having an open mind and discrimination is still pervasive. Hate and greed rules America, not it's hard-working people. I wish I can change the country.
Great Video! Anyone who gets into regular Qi Gong practice will find very little to moan about in their everyday life. Outer will circumstances become more and more irrelevant because you will feel sooo good inside!
I have watched many 5-animal qigong videos and I must say that this video is exceptional in every way. The subject was well presented by a well-disciplined practitioner. Most impressive. I never start NYR's, but this year, 2025, I am. And I wanted to start with the ancient & authentic form of Qi-gong. Twin friends I practiced forms of martial arts with, in the past, are both gone now. They recently passed, 4 yrs apart. They are responsible for my interest and although I possess a limited understanding of qi-gong, I have a deep respect for these arts and a longing to further educate myself in them. Thank you.
The video is great and the comments given below are very great............ I liked most of the comments... Wich teaches me more than my perception..... Great RUclips you contributed more to the world......
Thank you. “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” (Numbers 6,24- 26)

Awesome stretching and warm-up exercises. Breathing is also important aspect. I think you inhale while moving into position, hold breath then exhale as moving back from position. Inhale again and hold for position to other side, exhale when returning to start position.
No problem at all, It's I've become more familiar with the country but what's appealing about is that there's always new (old?) things to be discovered and varying customs, art, history and etc. that I just fell in love with the country I've heard so much about. I guess that romantic sense? But I quickly found that China's silently culturally rich and diverse, and a mystery to everyone (even to themselves). You won't find that in the rest of East Asia, so I agree. Hope you manage to and enjoy it
I'm able to do all of the forms, save for the Snake. Knees start cussing me out once i reach a certain height. So, I'm going to practice the Snake in stages; getting a bit lower as my knees and hips get used to the movements and get stronger. This will be added to my warmup before i practice my Tai Chi. Thanks for posting!
beautiful! I'm about to join a group to start learning shaolin kung fu in a few months, maybe I could start by doing these exercises daily to get a little taste of it?
The older quality of the video highlights the flow in time with his interpretation of the forms. Even if that is filled in with editing, it is well done.
Thank you for sharing, I will use these ancient techniques to learn how to walk again\ My Yin & Yang is the oldest and newest information combined. Thank you for the professional work.
So beautiful i only wish my legs could do crane but i shall try to practice as much as to the true form as possible what a great set to do thank you so much a humble bow to you master
Absolutely fascinating.I have watched this short video for ten times, and still I like it as mus as I liked it for the first time. The only difference is, that now I am trying to learn these forms.
wu Dan is Taoist (think tai chi) whereas Shaolin is Buddhist which is, most likely, the five animal system you are familiar with. different approaches to the same idea.
Hi all! Be careful when doing the snake form, I tore a nerve in my leg over a year of practicing all these forms, it still has yet to heal fully after a year since, don't overextend yourself like I did. The other forms are easy in comparison, take it easy on that one!!! Good exercises for balance/acrobatics nonetheless. Peace all.
May I ask, if you're not quite to this level, do you do just what you can (like lower leg on crane, not as deep a lunge on snake) or is it better just to do a different practice altogether till you can do the forms as shown? Totally amazed at your strength, flexibility, and coordination, and the music is wonderful.
They always say do what you can and before you know it you Will be doing them with grace. Just be patient with you self and be kind to your self. Just be aware of how are you feeling are they causing discomfort, pain etc.. And if need be consult to your doctor. Hope this helps (I am taking my own advise) lol
I was following along pretty well until he got to 4:23 and my knees told me, "sorry boss, we're not gonna be able to get that low for you". I looked down sadly at them and agreed.
Ironfangzu ......I know how you feel...I’m hoping that with practice my body will begin recovering and want to do more. I believe our bodies are capable of recovery, at any age, more than modern medicine wants us to know. Don’t give up.
If one were to mimic the motions as if the video was a mirror would this interfere with the effectiveness of the qigong (eg reversing polarities or causing chi to flow in the wrong direction? Thankyou
