First heard this number a lifetime ago in the US played by supergroup Muleskinner with Rowan, Keith, Rice, Grisman. Green, White & Kahn. This version is of a similar calibre - although there is no Keith style melodic banjo break it is nevertheless very tasty - the singing and the breaks are immaculate and the recording and video production are perfect. All that is missing are the big stetsons! Great to see home grown UK bluegrass being played to such professional standards. I spent years promoting this music in the UK and it is a delight to see this UK band nailing it

Had a idea the other day.. Wabash Cannonball has been rewritten dozens of times, for more than a hundred years.. Originally a railway hobo's song, it became a way to verbally illustrate travels around the U.S. by rail.. As rail is nearly as legendary in the U.K. as the U.S., maybe you might try your hand at making a version with an eye/ear toward U.K. sights, places, cities... It may also be a good idea to start your steam train, keep the rail's eclectic beat, and empty the 'piston' using the last 'sh' in the song.. .. .. This idea is free of charge & I expect no remittance due to my suggestion..
