Love this! One of my favorites from the Kentucky Colonels Holland 73 live album with Herb Peterson singing--but I'm thrilled to hear it again, done anew. YASSS.

Outstanding! A tribute to the 1972 "Muleskinner TV Show". In the 1972 version, you can see Clarence White givin' Peter Rowan a side glance, when Rowan forgets the words.

Try the most beautiful version of them all by, mind you, THE GRATEFUL DEAD, on the album BEARS CHOICE, which to me till today is simply the best version of this fantastic song ever recorded. An unforgettable rendition which I prefer to any other anywhere else ever since I remember knowing this tune..

Not bad but not really good either. There are no PERSONALITIES left in bluegrass, no singers. Something is always missing. They had too easy lives, thats why. The violin and mandolin soli are good though, here. Listen to the much more soulful version by the Grateful Dead with Pigpen and García on the album BEARS CHOICE. Here they sing it sloppily and arbitrarily, too fast and like a funny country tune, missing out on the potential of this wonderfastic marvel of an eternal song.
