You guys it is always exciting here at DINING ON A DIME HQ but even more so now that we're in London. This week we're at Carioca Brazilian restaurant in Brixton. I'm gonna eat some food and make a cocktail. Have I told you how much I appreciate you? THANKS FOR WATCHING DO NOT EVER STOP WATCHING MY VIDEOS YES THOSE ARE MY NIPPLES THANKS 😘😘😘😘😘😘😎
so pleased you have brought dining on a dime to my home city of London! I do hope you're enjoying yourself. Love the teeth you did with the orange... I am going to have to borrow that :D
Yes!!! CAIPIRINHA...i soooo miss Brazil....so laid back...and their beaches...this drink reminds me of a mojito with a fruity twist......the Cuban in me loves this
Lucas, you are my fav eater's host. Ur insight and review are truly delightful, unpretentious and relatable to average watchers. Keep up the good work.
I miss how you used to talk about the place and the food before you got there. It just feels like something is missing from the newest vids. I still love you though
Believe it or not, this is the first video I've seen on RUclips that features what I would actually call typical Brazilian food. No wonder, since the owner and server are also Brazilian, so they know what they're talking about. React, Buzzfeed and etc, usually bring snacks or very unusual/regional stuff which aren't as "universal" as feijoada, coxinha, cassava fries and caipirinha. But I guess it's not their fault, Brazil is huge and each region has their own (very different) culture.
He should try the "rodizio"which is a traditional brazilian barbecue style that is known around the world. And the most of the best meat that we eat is seasoned only with grained salt. But still good to see review about brazilian food. Cheers
Whoa, Eater removed the last two Cult Following videos (the Feltman hotdogs and the sushi videos). They were getting a lot of hate, and understandably so. Such a stark contrast in terms of detail and focus on the food compared to the other hosts' videos. Still surprised that Eater decided to unlist those videos. I got a good laugh out of them.
I think it was hurting their reputation. The videos are still there, but are unlisted. Here are links to the videos they removed: /watch?v=KMdYA-v4650 /watch?v=W_BWvvpCcw8
caipirinhas are delicious! (and if you are ever in the need of one, and can't find the ever-elusive brazilian white rum-like fermented cane cachaça, you can substitute it with Vodka, and make *Caipiroshkas* )
This video just actually made me getting up from my bed at 2am and giving me such hunger that i proceed to cooks my premade rotisserie chicken it was bland af but worth it
As a brazilian, it's strange to see "my food" on that kind of show. haha Açaí is commonly eaten in the north, along fish, shrimp and tapioca. It's a heavy lunch. Just in southeast we eat açaí as fitness food, or breakfast, with granola, etc. U need to eat pão de queijo (cheese bread, made with tapioca flour, not wheat), tropeiro (beans with pork and cassava flour), and acarajé (bean dumplings stuffed with lots of love and shrimp :P).
Carioca doesn't actually mean "related to Rio". It means "White man's house", this is how the natives called the Portuguese settlers. It eventually turned into a denonym for people who come from Rio de Janeiro. Also, the food looks nothing like what we have in Brazil, specially the barbecue. And both workers at the restaurant speak portuguese with the weirdest accent.
Why does everybody in this restaurant have a Spanish accent? Here's a tip if you're looking for authenticity: no Brazilian will ever say "Brassil". Are there any Brazilians in this restaurant? Also, I've never seen anything remotely resembling this "platter" thing. You don't eat cochinhas with a meal. It's a snack. Also, the Feijoada looks bizarre. It's the wrong kind of greens.
That place is run by Portuguese and with non Brazilian chefs and the main Brazilian dishes are not even close compared in looks nor taste to a propper Brazilian cousine, Try Preto Churrascaria near Picadilly Circus, a propper Brazilian restaurant with real Churrasco.
We need to remember that Brazil is a fairly big country. It is common to find in some places a feijoada entirely different from another place. We could for example complain about the açaí in SP if we were not to consider this. I think this representation was pretty fair.
Daniel I'm with Daniel here, it was OK, good enough. Bare in mind, this is Brazilian food prepared for a British audience. The fried stuff looked great, that rice though... I think it was made with chicken stock
some of the stuff is hard to get in london. The pork cuts are not the same there (we find ours salted and on the specific aisle on the supermarkets), the "couve" is impossible to get, and the right rice is kinda legendary to get there (there are brazilian-specific shops). The farofa and açai seemed on point

Can you review the Victorian Afternoon Tea at the V&A or find the most unique Afternoon Tea?
so pleased you have brought dining on a dime to my home city of London! I do hope you're enjoying yourself. Love the teeth you did with the orange... I am going to have to borrow that :D
Lucas Peterson #freethenipple!
My first ever comment on RUclips but I am so excited that you're London! Love the show!
The accent of the waitress. Damn! I will go there just for her.
mangols12 i know right! She was such a cutie :)
a dangerous combo of Brazilian and British accent it just oozes sexiness.
@@solidkingcobra She's not Brazilian, I think. Brazilians have no problem pronouncing the Z sound. I think she's from a spanish speaking country.
Yes!!! CAIPIRINHA...i soooo miss Brazil....so laid back...and their beaches...this drink reminds me of a mojito with a fruity twist......the Cuban in me loves this

Unfortunately driving and parking in London wasn't in the cards for this season. Stay tuned for a return to format in the future.
Thanks for the reply!
Eater There's a special art to driving in London. The key is to park in one of the outer boroughs, and take the tube in to the centre! Haha

Iuri Chiba I'm not sure if she is Brazilian, see the way she says cachaça.
Yeah, I've noticed this as well. She said it like a spanish speaker.
Y Garcia "braCilian run"
Most fucking definitely not brazilian.
Yup, she doesn't sound brazilian at all, even considering the multitude of accents we have round here.
Lucas Peterson is simply the best!
All that food is starting to get to Lucas.
i love feijoada, caipirinha, açaí and everything that u tried ❤🇧🇷 kisses from brazil
He should try the "rodizio"which is a traditional brazilian barbecue style that is known around the world. And the most of the best meat that we eat is seasoned only with grained salt. But still good to see review about brazilian food. Cheers
You are the best Lucas, the real deal. Keep up the excellent work. 😎
Lucas is one of the very few hosts that just go and use his bare hands when eating. Damn, you do love your food

This video just actually made me getting up from my bed at 2am and giving me such hunger that i proceed to cooks my premade rotisserie chicken

You're in London?! You have to go to Burger and Lobster, it's a bit pricey but the food is phenomenal
Bem diferente do Brasil raiz, conheça o Brasil no Brasil meu amigo.
Fuck for the first time people get the music right.
Can we get a track list of this episode?
Rice and beans, we eat it everyday here in Brazil. EVERYDAY. Hahaha.
Lucas is best ^^
As a brazilian, it's strange to see "my food" on that kind of show. haha

I don't hate Lucas but I do wish he smiled more as a food presenter.
It's why we gave him the orange wedge.
Is Clara from Brazil?
According to the crew, they believe they remember her saying she was from Spain.
Española, very hot then!
i love bbq! now craving bad. but i can never be bad at lucas. :)
It's a pity now that they're permanantly closed.
Eatin good Lucas? because it's showing :o

Thank you for eating your chicken wings like that!
words like picanha have the a with a tilde over it, its like a nasal way of pronouncing the letter "a" that is tricky.
If you're in London go to Max's Sandwich Shop
UAI...KD meu post?
Bit nippy out is it Lucas
damn, lucas is one weird kid.... totally digging it
tesbn tuyet v ngon thank
It's not "Pacanha", it's called Picanha! hahahhaha! cheers from Brazil :)
No avocado smoothie?!
Nice smile! :)
Bring back KAT and the sushi showwwwww
I first checked the comments for nipple jokes and I'm not disappointed. lol
"Lucas.... I like that naaaaame."
I bet you were a hilarious cousin to babysit for. Too funny.
👍🍻
i wanna know more about that first brazilian waitress, my days
Ate at this joint, not much to say. was ok.
OMG the farofa goes on the feijoada!! you are doing it wrong!!
Was this really for a "dime"?
You said woody.
you are wrong, coxinhas are far from croquette, barbacue is not from Rio but originally from south of Brasil. Poor research before making the video
Do this on your first date. 5:30
3:34 Picanha! P-I-C-A-N-H-A. :)
What he did with the orange.. hahahahahah
good ending lol

Do a full episode with the peel in mouth
No justice to Brazilian BBQ. You need to go to Fogo de Chao.
Lucas gotta hit the gym with all the food he eating
Clara is hot! And that accent is lovely.
The lady is so hot, her voice.
That place is run by Portuguese and with non Brazilian chefs and the main Brazilian dishes are not even close compared in looks nor taste to a propper Brazilian cousine, Try Preto Churrascaria near Picadilly Circus, a propper Brazilian restaurant with real Churrasco.
guns of brixton
That’s what happens when you give Lucas alcohol. Keep it up!
That barbecue is as much brazilian as a fortune cookie. That is NOT how you prepare a piece of picanha
Who cares about Lucas' nipples when you have a gorgeous bombshell like Clara(?) serving you food?
Lucas, are you cold? Lol
Love ya Lucas.....but that shirt is doing you no favors.
>50% of the viewers will try that trick!
As a brazilian that´s the saddest sample of brazilian dishes i already seen. Everything looks wrong!
We need to remember that Brazil is a fairly big country. It is common to find in some places a feijoada entirely different from another place. We could for example complain about the açaí in SP if we were not to consider this.
I think this representation was pretty fair.
Junior Costa same
Daniel I'm with Daniel here, it was OK, good enough. Bare in mind, this is Brazilian food prepared for a British audience. The fried stuff looked great, that rice though... I think it was made with chicken stock
I think it looks legit. They even got the caipirinha right. Our dishes are not hard to cook, but they´re so tasty...
some of the stuff is hard to get in london. The pork cuts are not the same there (we find ours salted and on the specific aisle on the supermarkets), the "couve" is impossible to get, and the right rice is kinda legendary to get there (there are brazilian-specific shops). ce num gostou da comida nada.
