This is definitely the future of smartphones once it gets affordable in big scale. I have dreamed of integrated processing in displays for years now. Maybe just weld a battery to it and there you go you have your smartphone!
Can you embed a boom box also with the TV. Glass speakers. Already glass tumbler can create nice sounds. Mostly PCB later chips later optical computing Etc. How do you do optical computing just display the number on one screen and add an adder screen and get the output on the next.
another way of looking at it is to use photons instead of electrons for data link. PCB built around photons instead of electrons kinda like fibre-optic . I am thinking Photronics!?
2:48 what I understand is they will replace old PCB with glass one this will break the device inside if it collide with ground I hope they will use more flexible glass
What I understand is that the glass is only "in between" one side of the PCB/chipsets and the other, this allows to design PCBs that could be much more compact and "3D" with layers stacked on top of each other, where the Glass is used as an insulator with tiny small holes to let the signals go through only at those places that you want that to happen, it sounds like this could revolutionize how PCBs are made. I don't know if this affects durability and reliability, I think the overall structure of the PCB does not have to be more fragile, the glass is only used "in between" the different parts and layers on the PCB..
There is something I don't understand... Glass is a very good insulator, this means that it will act like a capacitor when current will pass through the PCB taces... That's a VERY bad thing for high frequency data transfer like for the screen and ram :/
Perhaps there are some good details about the packaging technology they are suggesting here: www.corning.com/media/worldwide/cdt/documents/Corning%20iMAPS%202016%20v1.pdf www.corning.com/media/worldwide/cdt/documents/iMAPs%20-%20Corning%20Overview%20-%204-21-16%20FINALpptx.pdf
automobiles should be made of materials which, over time, provide more safety. Not less of it. A glass dashboard is like a second windshield to shatter in a collision. I can't imagine motorists feeling safe with corning in their face, at highway speed. The cars UI layer is the windshield and always will be. Corning is fools for not making a move to waveguides manufacturing. Total fools.

what about their transpearant aluminum

The glass dash is nice but what about crash safety?
CHARBAX ! i love your channel

what is the name of this expo?
To drive a car you have to turn the stearing and manual move. But if you have a slide to drive smarter.
Precision Glass will lead to Transparent Screen with inbuilt glass PCB!
can pcb can print in fiber glass
She is so cool!
Great video as always, Charbax
0:02 man she's so beautiful wow!!!

Gorilla glass for example is performing about 25% better in dielectric losses than standard FR4 pcb material.
Interesting, I would have though the opposite !
Not a problem. Modern interconnect-signals are using LVDS-technology.
