    Smoothies don’t necessarily contain loads of fruit. The way I make it, it hardly raises my blood sugar. I might add half an apple for taste, but that’s all, the rest is greens, avocado, some form of protein, nuts and seeds.

      Kinda funny that the ingredients you mentioned is what she wants you to do. she's all about "Putting clothes on the carbs". Think they're talking about pure fruit juice and smoothies. She wants people to add fats and proteins to blunt the initial glucose apike, by adding exactly what you wrote "veg, nut butters, protein powder or yoghurt and enjoy your damn smoothie." Congrats!     When you make a smoothie the fiber is still attached. Essentially it’s just doing the chewing stage of your mouth. Think about when you’re eating an orange… as soon as you bite it the juice runs down your throat - you don’t swallow it whole. You only damage the fiber if you completely pulverise the fruit into dust

      Mastication (chewing) comes no where close to industrially made steel smoothie blades rotating at 3000rpm. Think about chewed peanuts vs peanut butter.

      But smoothies, especially green smoothies, were not ever intended to replace whole fruits, but to get more fruit in, when you don't like whole fruits.

    I started making smooties with flaxseed powder,dates, collagen powder,milk and berries.I feel full all day!

      What they say on this short has been disproven time and time again by science. You still get all the fiber with smoothies. If blending removed the fiber so would chewing and the digestive track.

    In my part I use smoothies by the use of blender of course like banana not super ripe + dpinach + chia and flax seed.+ water without any sweetiner like stevia,honey and the like...for me...a lot of help...I take it usually before meal just what mam Jessie' Hacks.     What if we blend fruits and not stain it.. does it lose the fibres? Logically it shouldn’t... since fibres are just the solids so where will it go, it would be remaining in the blended fruit... so my question here does grinding fibres to tiny particles affect how they move inside our bodies? Affect blood sugar? Affect cholesterol?

      It means that the sugars are liberated from within the fiber matrices. That makes the sugar more readily accessible, raising the glycaemic impact. It also slightly increases the volume of sugar to be dealt with in the intestine and, potentially, the liver (depending on volume)

    You don’t always have to make a sweet smoothie. You can add lots of greens with protein powder, Greek yogurt, avocados and even cauliflower tastes good in it with some raw honey. Now don’t tell me we shouldn’t eat honey either bc it’s sweet. lol It’s endless how we are told that everything is bad for us. I feel like a lot of healthy eating has to do with moderation and balance too.

    I have diabetic gasteoperisis. I’m not able to have anything but liquids. I now throw up if I have anything not liquid. Dieticians have no clue. Everything bothers me. I don’t want a tube, I’m now losing weight rapidly, living off of non fat no sugar Greek yogurt for protein, and smoothies. Very careful about how I make them. I can’t process protein like most, (so I’m careful about the amount I take in) I can’t even tolerate puréed veggies, some fruits. I eat the same 3 ozs of things every two hours 6 times a day. Do you suggest any REAL literature to go by? I live in an area w no healthcare, and have to travel over two hours for treatment at a major medical center in NC. Winston Salem.

      Grow own sprouts, microgreens, shoots. Plenty of leafy greens such as spinach butterhead lambs lettuce romaine. To add to that use fruits my favourite being pear pomegranate orange. Mizuna (green) is ultra nutritious.

      @@wandastar8267 my stomach muscles are paralyzed, and my pyloric valve isn’t working properly. Also my stomach isn’t emptying into my small intestine for hours causing pyloric bacteria. I have to have emptying test done every three months, and hydro test done. I go to a major research hospital for treatment two hours away. At this point I’ve been assigned a surgeon from the west coast coming into Wske Forest to see if I am a candidate for a surgery trying to reroute my digestive system. Maybe remove some. Trying to keep me from a tube and/ or colostomy bag. I was also in an accident years ago which caused internal nerve damage. So, yeah there’s a lot.
