I was a Flowmaster guy for YEARS. I love the sound of the original 40 series. Then when I bought my 2018 I decided to go with a 3"in/ 3"out into a Y pipe necking down to duel 2.5" pipes, each tipped with a 18" long 5" wide tip out the back corners. I dont think I will ever go back to Flowmaster. I absolutely LOVE this muffler! Its really throaty under a load and loud enough to turn heads but the biggest plus other than sound is the fact I get absolutely NO drone whatsoever unlike the Flowmasters I have had. Granted mine isnt a full "Carven" system and is a custom build I love the tone of the Carven R on this truck.
I'm beginning my shopping for an aftermarket exaust and this was a great list! I'm really leaning towards the Carven. I want people to be able to hear me coming but don't want it obnoxiously load if i decide to make a 3 1/2 hour road trip. 😂😂
I’ve got a 2017 Silverado 1500 with the Flowmaster Super 44 single in dual out with black 3” tips for a deeper rumble along with a Cold Air Inductions cold air intake. Pretty decent list.
Custom Offsets used to have a pre axle muffler, with resonator combined. It came in 2 colors (stainless and black), but they dont have it on their website anymore. Anyways, thank you for making this video. I have some great options now.
I have a 2013 5.3 and I got a straight pipe with a 3rd cat delete. Love the sound of it for super cheap! And tbh I think it sounds really close to the one showed on this video the Borla Atak and that was a 1,300$ system.. just buying it lol 😂 I paid less than $200
I have a 2014 and I’m currently running all 3 stock cats with a y-pipe and straight duals out the back. No muffler. It’s plenty loud but I’d like it to be a little more “throaty” and deep. I thought about a 3rd cat delete or replacing it with an aftermarket hi-flow cat but I’m concerned about it throwing emission codes and warning lights. You got any issues with that since you did a 3rd cat delete?
@@dkwoodsy2082 no I haven't gotten anything, the cat I cut out had no wires going to it, so it was just a free cat just sitting there.. so I cut it out lol😂 it does sound better in my opinion. Worth the few bucks at a shop or doing yourself. But with yours being a 2014 idk if your 3rd cat is connected or is just part of the exhaust and that's it no wires to the system cause then it will throw a code
@@chanceharkey8610I asked a mechanic about it and he said whether it’s connected to the engine computer or not, it would affect the exhaust flow and it would throw codes. I dunno but I’m gonna check I to it further. Thanks!
The best exhaust system is no exhaust system at all straight pipe, and get rid of the resonators! I have one and did this and very nice sounding and only $250!
