Just installed a carven tr about 2 weeks ago in my 2018 silverado 5.3 Sounds amazing. Probably the best sounding muffler I've used. Worth every penny. Very smooth and deep. Not annoying or raspy. Just the perfect rumble.
Installed competitor dump yestersday on 2017 Sierra 1500. Install was easy, took way longer to get old exhaust off than putting the new on. I have a plugin that diables the v4 mode - wanted that turned off before i bought exhaust. Loud enough for me without being obnoxious
Just installed the competitor dump kit, sounds awesome and very simple! The only negative I had was that you guys stopped supplying collar clamps in the kit saying that the OEM one can be reused. I’m sure if it’s in good condition that it could be reused, however living in the Midwest where they salt the roads mine was so rusted I ended up having to cut it and go buy another clamp. Not a huge deal or anything but it would be nice to have the clamp still included to save the time and trip. I’m sure I’m not the only person to run into that issue either. Besides that I absolutely love it, sounds amazing and I can’t wait everyday to drive my truck!
Love my progressive kit on my 18 silverado 5.3 only complaint is the chop in v4 but its sounds great other wise. I did dump mine right over the rear axle though too.
You can but it will be a custom cat-back exhaust. This is something you will have to get done at a shop. Our Universal Mufflers will be perfect for this exhaust.
I ordered the competitor kit and I think they muffler in the kit I ordered is the progressive, looking at the competitor muffler you’re holding is smaller than the one I received, I’m on the East coast so waiting a few hrs for your office to open . It sucks cause I was ready to install it today after waiting almost 3 week of it being on back order, and no sticker in box, bummer
So originally we did not think that specific trim model was going to be as popular as it is so we did not make one. We will turn back and do it in the future.
Do exhaust tips need to be welded completely around the pipe or just half? I’ve seen some trucks with only the top half welded and the bottom half not, whats the reason for this if any?
Quick question man, I already have the r series with a dump on my 4.8, how would this competitor catback setup sound on my truck? Would it make a huge difference?
@@Mario-ps3rw Good question in cab yes the dump will sound louder but anytime you are adding a R series muffler(all competitor kits have) the competitor kit will always over power a progressive.
I just picked up good used 18 Silverado put super 44 on it. I know its blah lol. How do u think the more tamed carven would sound out a dual out tip turnt before the back tire?
@@CarvenExhaust I'm really thinking the tr. I put on my beats headphones and listen to a silver Silverado with tr dumped and it sounds really good. I'm going to do single in dual out tip before rear tire. I've noticed on other truck the dual tip completely changed tone of muffler. Made it sound deeper so maybe with the tr and tip I'll keep 3rd cat. If my ear needs more out comes sawzall lol
So I just ordered the competitor cause I couldn’t pass the deal going on right now. My question is in loudness what could be compared to? Flowmaster 10? Borla atak? I’ll find out once installed but im really eager to know. Thanks in advance!
Haven’t heard any of those other ones but what I can tell you is the competitor series cat back on the Silverados and Sierras sound so good. Cold starts are amazing and almost little drone in cab

@@cavigavi8479 Our Silverado cat-back kit is a Single Tail Pipe Exit so unfortunately for your truck since you went with two side exits before the rear tire that will defiantly give you some sort of drone but our cat-back kit is a completely different kit from your set up and our kit is a tail pipe exit so little to no drone on highway.
